This was one of my wife’s and I favorite songs. She passed away in 2018, after 31 years together. The tears falling like rain, because I still love her.
Terrell Lykken big hug for u...and my respect....
FELICIDADES POR MANTENER ESA PAREJA HASTA LA FECHA Y ESOS RECUERDOS DE ESTA MELODIA HERMOSA. DIOS BENDIGA SU FAMILIA
AMIGO TERRELL HAVE YOU MESSENGER?
So SORRY
Same here. I just lost my wife last month and can not come to terms with it. This December 30th would have been our 20th. She loves this song and sang along. We just saw Justin in October 6th, 2019 in Harrisburgh, PA. We both had Nights in White Satin tattooed on our chests and it was our wedding theme. I am crying now..... damn,,,
He is 73 in this. Imagine beign able to sing like this at that age. Pure talent.
How amazin does e sing this song.. as good as the original ❤️
Unbelievable
Boris, AMAZING !! I just turned 71 unfortunately I can't sing, but I am still alive.
Yes, he's still got it.
It is pure the fact of him s8bging just blows my mind
I can't believe that he can still hit those high notes like that! Still gives me chills! This kiddies is what real talent looks like.
Legendary.
He is amazing! I love this song!
@@seanfitzgerald8575 Struggle? cut him some slack. he is 73 years old
Love Justin Hayward!! Absolutely amazing!! 💖💖💖
Well...noooo....not now. Maybe in his prime, but he's one step away from singing out of a tube in his throat!
May Mike Pinder’s beautiful soul rest in peace. 🙏🏼 Thank you for your contributions to music and for your virtuosity on the mellotron.
I still love this song and this group. I'm old and gray and still rock in my heart.❤
Ditto
Same happens to me! Greetings from Argentina!
RIP Graeme, the only Moodies member to play on every one of their LPs. You will be missed. May you and Ray make beautiful music together on the other side.
I didn't know he died 😢
My dad used to “smoke” and then blast this album back in the 70s and 80s. He died suddenly 13 years ago. After he died, I used to hear this song and just bawl. Now, it brings back good memories of a great father.
It's a great memory for you! My sons will have the same memory...some day !
Tengo 64 años y la tengo como tono en mi cel...chi.ngona melodía
Oh precious.....
It’s wonderful that you are able to be happy when you hear this beautiful song...
That is the power of music. So powerful. You can talk to yourself in public and you'll be called mad, but if you sing in public, people leave money.
This was our wedding dance song. Together 48 years so far.
Finally, finally, the Moody Blues in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, so well deserved and so overdue !!!
Genial und einmalig. Mir läuft immer noch ein Schauer durch den Körper. Meine Jugend und mein Leben. Nie wieder wird es so etwas von Klasse geben. LG karin
Wow I'm so happy with your replies I love these guys so much, glad you are enjoying memories
Wayne and I listened to this. We're divorced and he's in Heaven now. I want to go back in time. I love you Wayne. Always, Donna
Mid-60s to mid-70s produced some of the greatest music in rock & roll. It was great to be around to experience it in r/t.
Justin Hayward has an indescribably great voice, and still even at his age hasn't lost it.
Truly underrated. He has one of the greatest voices!
The song has gained added significance with the passing of drummer Graeme Edge yesterday. Godspeed, and rest in peace!
Rest in peace The Moody Blues
Recently, we lost Mike Pinder as well. Rest in peace all of the original members of the Moody Blues: Mike, Ray, Graeme, Denny, and Clint. 🕊🙏
A masterpiece of the Century! - we are the fortunate babyboomers who live along with this beautiful music.
Miss the babyboomers by two years. Still I'm fortunate to have the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful song. What beautiful Knights in shining armor that glistens in in the blue and black lights of acoustics that makes there music so amazing and talented men of a Band that will always be remembered. ♥️💯🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶👍
I'm a millineal with music like this and A Whiter Shade of Pale being my favourite on Earth.
@@ZOSO900 merveilleuse chanson slow !merci
No doubts.
Fortunately for me being the child of that generation I didn’t miss out. It’s been a life long love for me too at nearly 50.
I truly don’t believe there has ever a more beautiful song written and performed by one of the most talented group of musicians.
I was 3 years old when this song first came out. My dad loves it and played it when I got older.. and I remembered every word . I still play it when he’s riding in the car with me and we sing it together ❤ long overdue for the induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame !!
This song was played at our Wedding! I was 17 and she was 20! Feburary 12th 1971! Love you Linda
This is by far is one of the best performances on the RRHOF. It little long over due, they should've been inducted years ago! The Moody Blues music really touches ones soul❤️
Cool!
50 years ago when I was 15……our radio station played Nights in White Satin every night when they signed off……I was so awesome to fall asleep to that song…..love the Late Lament…..it’s fresh in my memory today!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
What a shame Ray Thomas didn’t make it for this one, RIP fella, great tribute to him 😘
Still very touching to see Ray's picture appear during the flute solo .best way to show the man the respect he deserves .RIp ray and thank You Moodies for all those fantastic years
35 yr old here. Grew up listening to this music with my mom, who thank god is still in my life at 64.
I'm 58 and found the Moody Blues as a young adult in the late '80s. I saw them live together with the San Diego Symphony in the early 90's. You and your mother have wonderful taste in music. Stay close. : )
Seen the Moody Blues many times...A favorite of my late husband and mine. ❤
Rest in Peace Mike Pinder ❤🙏❤ Thank you! ❤
I'm gunna be 66 in a couple weekss... and there is a few songs like this that make me cry every time I hear em... I feel so lucky to be able to have all these great performances instantly in 2021 ... internet is not all bad... thank you for sharing.... yep and Amen.
Every time I hear this song I get chills, it does not matter what decade he sings it in.
I'm 64 years old and I've always loved this music what a classic.... Nothing like it❤
same
Hi how are you doing☺
Too bad nobody creates timeless music like this anymore.
Yes. This is excellent.
It's a good thing....
So, we can still enjoy gems like this one!
Grateful for this, though very true.
@@chopagain739 So so true. Now its just money, band put toghether by companies and " How do i get seen" bands. And on the radio....dont get me started... This, like old Uriah Heep, Cream, Thin LIzzy, Early Genesis, The Kinks and so on is the reason music these days even is around. Pure talent and the skill to write music is gone.
They were way before their time
This song is God-tier, soul shaking, beautiful perfection. It might be the greatest song ever written and performed.
The amount of good music from the 60s is astounding.
50 years and still fantastic!!! Wow!
Amen to that.
@@marilynsnider8183 te quiero , Desde Argentina
What happened to the Moody Blues. I was at the Univ of Okla. I'm 73. Man I liked those guys.
@@davidnobles825what do you mean they’re still the greatest
Pure Magic. One of the greatest bands to ever exist. Brilliant
I totally agree man...
Absolutely!!
Sure it is!!!
I'm 68 and absolutely love the Moody Blues
I love them as well for over 50 years.I am sure you have loved them longer as you are older than me.I won’t be 68 for 5 more days. I am so nostalgic for our music. Always something new and exciting all the time.
It's sad we all must grow old, some are no longer here, but what was sung or spoken will live on as long as the memory lingers.
I'm only 19 and I don't want to grow old... I guess that's how life works
and longer. Because the beauty of this music is for ever.
YES
@@oryanbegay7856 just enjoy your life, take care of yourself physically, mentally and spiritually. You will grow old gracefully and have a good long life. 🌞 Bless You.

I still get chills with the opening narration of "Nights". Moody's were long overdue for this honor.
Nights In White Satin was our theme for prom back in 1973. Bob and I had a great time and are still in love like the very first day 💟💏💟
Mad love for you and Bob , Kathy.
That's so beautiful
That's pretty dope actually
Graduated high school in 73, I can relate!
This is one hell of a love song! The emotion simply takes over!!! Immortality!!!
He wrote it for his wife.
Yes I crying every time. This son is so powerful av love ❤️
Agree!
This is pure magic and whoever says otherwise has no idea of music
Absolutely SUPERB.
The Moodies in full flight with Justin Hayward and John Lodge and Graeme Edge.
And condolescences for Ray Thomas and Mike Pinder who would have loved that performance.
👍👍👍✅✅✅
On my honeymoon in 1987 we both decided we needed to see The Moody Blues..Springfield Mass,Fixx opening...Perfect..It was perfect..Justin's voice, that music and we got to stay for an MTV video..Running Out of Love..My wife on my shoulders...They stayed after..The band shaking hands,autographs.. Was a dream
This is certainly one of the most beautiful song ever !
IMO The Best song ever written, recorded and sang.
@@stevewhitacre6377 I agree.
RIP Graeme Edge. Thanks for the wonderful music that still delights.
What about Ray Thomas? Great singer, and flautist!
Timeless classic. It dose not get any better than this 😍

Who doesn't hope to have just one more night in their life to justify such a beautiful song?

"Days of Future Passed" indeed. I still love to listen to the whole album start to finish. ❤️
His voice ..the same as in the 60s..so good

There used to be a radio station in Los Angeles that, from the mid 80's (possibly earlier) to as late as the early 2000's, played this song every night at midnight. It never got tired.
Rock never gets old. One day, it just gives out, and we need to sing it with new voices. Until that point, we must respect the masters, for we are simple students of Rock.
This song stood the test of time, and will go on.............
There are good songs, great songs, and then there are the rare, timeless masterpieces that transcend fads, genres, and eras. This is one of those gems.
This song reminds me my first crush in high school back in 1977, she's still around somewhere in Tennessee and married, has three kids all grown up. I still love her.
I'm 69 in 2021, most of my life so far have I loved their music.
Fantastic memories from the BEST band EVER! Pure magic in every tune/song!
This is the first song my wife and I danced to on our wedding night. It's "our" song. We got a lot of weird looks but it didn't matter. It was just us out there. I edited the track so the gong would come a little earlier as the spoken part would have been hard to dance to, lol. Anyway, it's such a masterpiece. That entire album is just amazing. This was an amazing performance. :D
Beautiful song
I was born in th 60's, and in 2022, I'm still listening to songs of the 60's. I wish I was back in the 60's, but I'm not. Sadly, we're all approching the inevitable in life, and that some day, all of the great musicians of the 60's will be gone forever, but never forgotten bcause of TH-cam.
We need to pass this on to our children and their children. Memories when I was a young MAN in the 60s.
Well someone listened to you because I'm 17 and here 😁
38 year old here. My Dad turned me on to Moody Blues (And so many more classic rock bands from the 60's & 70's).
'To Our Children's Children's Children'...❣
To Our Children's Children's Children...
Justin Hayward seemed to me, way back in my teens, to be the main man in the Moody Blues. He still is in fine voice here in his 70's , and the song is still a great song.
Having grown up with their music (I’m in my late 60’s now), I was glad that I didn’t read or see more 👎 comments on this video❗️Although his voice has changed drastically from the past, I still give him and the band a LOT of credit for continuing to put on live concerts in spite of it - AND working around it as best he/they could with the arrangement! I won’t lie and say that others who have ‘aged’ just as much (and are in their 70’s, or about the same as he is here) have the voices they used to - Elton John, Jon Bon Jovi, Clapton, the late Gary Booker (from Procal Harem), etc. It’s an unavoidable fact of life, but the fact that they ARE willing to perform the best they can says, and means, a LOT to me! 👍
I danced a many young lady to romance to this gorgeous song. This is an incredible rendition after all these years, Justin, you got the voice.
How Justin can continue to deliver the vocals is mind boggling. I have my own arrangement to this song in my solo show, but will usually tend not to use it...only to save my vocals. You can't creep out on the top range of this song....knew it from it's origin...love it still!

One of the great voices of rock & roll.
I think the key is to not overdo your voice. Too many male vocalists try to hit the high notes only to wreck their voice so that it's not the same as they get older.
Hi how are you doing Jim☺
Long summer days and nights spent listening to this. Always crying ever so quietly. What could have been never was, and life just rolled on by. Just quietly, I'm reminiscing my old tears of long long past.
Graeme orating the opening. Unforgettable. Hayward has a forever voice. One if not the most incredible songs of all times.
And the tears fall as silently, swiftly as ever before, from the first moment I heard him until today....RIP Graeme....Karma has embraced our most beloved poet from this world, to the next in which, you will continue to share your beautiful soul....we were honoured and humbled to know you, to have you share moments of our lives...And whilst we miss you, we envy the next plane of your journey through the eternal life you and we believed in, and you so richly deserve...sweet speed darling lad, England's and the worlds hill's and shores will feel you forever more.
I was in the service when I first heard this played on the radio. Many long years ago. The old Brits have done well. I still get the thrill when I see them perform.
One of the greatest songs ever.
I was blessed to live in the time of The Moody Blues and see this masterpiece performed live 10 times. It never gets old and never will.
The Moody Blues are one hell of a band. Has anybody out there watched their 2007
gig on U tube performed at London's Albert Hall. I can recommend it, it's brilliant.
Yes, yes and yes ❤
That keyboard player and set up are both awesome. That sounded like a full orchestra.
They are still so f-ing relevant. This here one of my favorite Moody Blues songs of all time. 😘
Wow 😮 still brings me to tears... when thinking about that special person , most of us have one in our lives.❤️
These guys changed my life back in the spring of 1972... when they sang. NOW YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE REAL !!!!
Nights in White Satin was the subject of my study in my college class Music Appreciation. Their songs got me through a month long hospital last year. I'm grateful for them.
The flute player did an absolutely superb job. This entire performance is awesome
Their vocals are still amazing and love the respect they show on the screen behind them.
His voice touches our souls
Yes ....a genuine classic...that touches our soul.....it goes out into the Universe.
NHHS Class of '73 here: Knights in White Satin was our Class Song. We chose wisely.
they did an amazing job here. and one of the most mesmerizing songs ever.
This is the last song I ever listened to with my mother. She passed mid 2009.
God bless you.
Music so beautiful that it’s mesmerizing.
ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME SHOULD RENDER A PUBLIC APOLOGY FOR NOT INDUCTING THEM ABOUT 20-25 years sooner
The longest overdue and most deserved induction in the history of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
How lovely to see images of Ray Thomas in the background from the start and particularly during beautiful Norda Mullen's solo, and how sad to see this as one of Graeme Edge's last performances.
I still love to listen to this awesome hit song of The Golden Era by The Greatest Cool Band of Our Time!!!
Holy shit! How are they that old and still that good? I'm not sure if I even like this song. And yet im blown away by this performance
Well said.
A truly haunting timeless piece that is bound to invoke so many memories for so many. Justin Hayward’s Forever Autumn on War of the Worlds also merits a mention when it comes to great songs of yesteryear . Echo the comments vis a vis Ray Thomas RIP long live traditional music makers.
The flute in this song is eerie and it make this song magical
The flute part is simply beautiful
This is one of my all time favorite songs. Brings me back to when I was young.
I grew up with the Moody Blues, best band ever !
Hi how are you doing☺
My first album was Days of Future Past bought in 1969 and I still play it now, along with all the other made by the Moodies. I also saw them perform live in 1973 and 2015. I think us baby boomers have had the best deal when it comes to music.
I got see them live while stationed in the UK 68 - 72. The one ill never forget was at the Royal Festival Hall, front row center seats the played with the Festival Orchestra.
What strikes me more than ever is how good a guitarist Justin is and how well John sings
I am 22 years old and I am in love with this song I have been for years good songs dont age
their set was one of the best sets at the RRHOF in a long time....I was surprised the killed it so well......
So glad I saw them in concert in 1971…priceless!
Met Justin Hayward back in the 80s when I worked at WPRO in Providence, and saw their concert at Providence Civic Center. They have always been more than a band, or singers/musicians. They are poets. And this performance at the induction was unbelievable.
brings tears and joy to this day for me . a never ending tune .
The best rock group that ever existed FOR SURE!!!
Unbelievable - still as hauntingly beautiful and powerful as ever!
One of my favorite groups. Saw them 3 times in 30 years. Always great shows.
