- This week we pick our greatest Sharks team from players who have made an impact in Super Rugby, from when they still played as Natal in 1996 to 2020.
I'm sure, like the other videos, this will unlock some serious debate. Who would you have picked in you all time greatest Sharks XV?

Man...it's so easy being a Sharks fan. Even when results are going badly there's a positive vibe. The players seem to also always look back fondly on their time at the Sharks.
You had me the minute you put Joubert on 15. Especially when you factor in that Montgomery played for the Sharks as well, at the tail end of his career.
Two great servants to SA rugby in the 15 jersey, but Joubert was the right call :) You also went with Honiball over Butchie (and there can be no denying his pedigree) but again, the right call.
Thank you for this one, it was just lovely.
Keegan Daniels is unlucky not to be in here. Him paired with kankowski was awesome to watch.
They were great ball carriers but they played like centre's, and we missed them at the rucks and in defense.
Great team. Honorable mentions to Jacques Botes, Keegan Daniel and Brent Russell.

I remember those days right before Lambie started. My childhood hero. Pat Lambie. Lwazi Mvovo also one of my favorites... probably the fastest SA player of all time. Almost forgot McLeod...how he never got called up for Boks is crazy. He scored in 2 finals. 2010 and 2013. Legendary player for the big occasions.

Poor Teichmann. I get he lacks the highlights but I would have him as the all time captain over anyone else

Look mate, I like AJ as much as the next even though I’m a bull supporter, but, he’s not Christian Cullen boet. No one comes close. He is what made the All Blacks dangerous. Not Lomu. Lomu had the eyes, but Cullen was the real beast. Untouchable as the best full back to have played the game. Never saw JPR and probably the only full back that can sit along Cullen.
I dont think John Smit was the greatest tighthead for the Sharks, but I understand why you selected him there. Greatest Sharks captain, but cannot displace Bissie for the hooker spot, so have to find a place for our beloved captain. Your selection reflects what the boks did in 09, where both of them had to be accommodated.
I am honestly very surprised Teichman didn't get the nod here.
kanko at his prime was pure magic. teichman as captain though (could bring kanko on as impact player)

@@RealRugby I guess as you say mate, "it's a matter of opinion", I just saw Halstead as a very useful center who sadly did not add more test caps in his very short time with the boks, he was unstoppable when he was fully fit, anyway cheers for the reply, we enjoy your videos, awesome work!

I'd go James instead of Honibol. I also think James Small and Kabous vd Westhuisen should have been the wingers
James Small only played one season for the Sharks in Super Rugby. Doesn't justify a selection for me...
Kabous? You are kidding, aren't you? And Honiball was one of the best Bok 10's of all time. Butch was great but Honiball was superb.

Explain why you would pick James Small over JP Pietersen?
Pietersen outclasses Small in every measurable stat of an Athlete. Bigger, faster, stronger, and fitter. If anything it highlights why it is wrong to compare rugby players from before and after the advent of professionalism. look at Naas Botha for comparison.
Pietersen is the right choice 1 of the best wingers ever.
