So great to see a new video. You guys are master storytellers. My son and I love listening to your stories, especially the shipwreck tales. Best wishes from the States.
i never knew NZ had such an interesting history, I've stumbled upon a goldmine finding this channel! Its a big story in my family that we came over to look for a sunken ship around the Auckland islands, then i watched your video and realised my older relatives were telling the truth. keep up the amazing work. - a kiwi in Auzzie
We have ghost cities in the US. Detroit has massive areas that are completely abandoned and in ruins. Gary, Indiana also. Oakland, CA is probably soon to follow.
@@epigwaitthistory The odd thing about Gary is that there is a small strip on Lake Michigan that is safe, clean and nice. Not even an excessive police presence the urban occupiers seem to be afraid of water.🤣. Everything starts locking up at 2:30 pm tho.🤣
Just watched your episode on the ghost towns. Just an amendment to make regarding the special settlement at Jackson Bay. Most of the settlers were from Poland & Germany with just a few from Italy. Hardly any of the settlers returned to their native countries - the majority moved to Taranaki & the Italians tended to move to the cities.
Sorry to have to criticize one of your programs . BARHILL far from abandoned . Gary king has been for 20yr growing such as peppers successfully. It is on a public water scheme. Gordon Stevens owns many sections . He is constantly asked to sell such . A loverly church . Wonder if you ever visited 😮.
Half way through and I'm thinking 'Denniston, Denniston, Denniston, when are you gonna get to Dennison?' I really hope you're saving that for last! Edit: Where the hell is Denniston? That place completely blew me away when I checked it out in '96. Old coal mining town north of westport - like Maori Gully you drive up through the mist to a plateau that once was home to 6000ish residents with many churches, pubs, brothels, etc. Last folk left in the early 90's I think. Amazing history. Do one on Denniston please!

Just found your channel a week ago and already halfway through your catalog. I’m trying to ration myself now so don’t run out. Thanks for sharing.
Riveting & factual what more can you want from a history lesson/tale. Cheers guys.
Beautiful to listen to your telling of these people and the land, thanks boys
It's all the little curiosities that maketh a story a great yarn. Obliged to you.

I'm here checking for the next one. Can't wait!! But this is a great episode, so I guess I'll just listen again. Thank you!
Jump over to Victoria Australia, I could take you to over 80 abandoned settlements in Gippsland.
Fascinating
Your telling of the story of Bahill and that madman is the funniest shit I've heard in ages, I lost it at the triffle incident. Thankyou 😂
Well done for creating this content. It really is a fantastic resource 👍

It was abandoned for nearly a century. I have visited and it's quite lovely, especially knowing it's origins.
I take your criticism. Regards 😮@@lav3crewman
