I just can't stop coming back to this show....the guitar hero antics, real drums, bass, sax, etc makes the music so alive. This is the perfect set, not sure why they went back to sterile electronic drums and synths in the last few years.

@@hawaii2k tbh, this feed sounds untouched. there's lots of moments where vocals made mistakes, guitars switch patches a bit too soon, and accidental snare drum triggers. It sounded just like this live, though i heard more keyboards in person :)

Prior to watching them at both shows in Melbourne, I was binge-watching this particular video like CRAZY and this was way before finding out I’d be seeing them live too 🥹 Nothing beats getting to see them perform up close and personal, but man… This video still occupies a special place in my heart especially after all those months counting down to the trip, and flying down from Singapore, attending the concert and eventually getting to meet the band. 10/10 would do it again ❤⚡️
@neplusultra4196 there is no doubt there are artists who can be said to have laid the foundations of synthwave, however The Midnight may be considered to be the modern champions of the genre

Wow, this live performance is incredible! I've been following Midnight since 2015 and I'm really surprised to see how well these songs work live. In fact, they gain an entirely new energy thanks to this hybrid setup and the great work of the rhythm section! Great band and kudos to them for designing such a complex live show given the mix of electronic and instrumental sounds. The rhythm section is truly perfect! It's a shame that the video is out of sync

How did it sound live opposed to this, after post-production? Super jealous, btw. The Midnight have quickly become a bucketlist band for me.
