18:34 That's actually awesome, because this was something I was actually pondering recently - that "Missingno." is a name arisen from a glitch, not an intentional feature, and thus is not an official character the same way Pikachu is. This means that the name likely isn't _trademarked,_ so a game could totally use the name and get away with it! Hence, Missingno is here!
A couple things worth mentioning: Firstly, similar to Coolslime and Radlad, Spyreling is also from another game! It's from Slay the Spire, specifically the Fat Gremlin enemy. Secondly, Pombomb from Cassette Beasts was recently added to the game as a Fire Spirit.
About both Missingno and Overseer: - Missingno being a hand is funny given the heavy hints towards Gen 1 Pokemon it has, after all, Missingno was usually accompanied by a "Pokemon" called Deadhand. - Overseer having the ability to change types makes sense seeing how it is heavily inspired on Zero Two's first form from Kirby 64, a Boss that also could change its "type" at will.
Wooow such a honor to see the game I worked on be featured in this channel!! Never thought something like this would happen haha I loved it!! The editing is amazing! 🥰🥰 I designed some Spirits for the game, so let me get you a few info: 3:36 The first idea I had for his name was "Timbus" which would be "Tio + Nimbus", I'm from Brazil and here "Tio" is like "Uncle" an older male person (the moustache haha), but the other option that the director liked more was "Claudio" because is a really common name here in Brazil for an older person too.. We thought it would be funny to have a Spirit with such a mundane name haha also the "Claud" is from "Cloud" 11:45 Sheemp is just the word "Sheep and Imp" combined haha it was supposed to be a Demon Sheep that evolves into a Demon Goat, also his fur is black because "black sheep" is a phrase we use for bad people 14:54 You got me... That's it!! The team keep adding Spirits all the time, so for the people who liked them just keep an eye on future updates 😁

Thinking of doing Yokai Watch in the near future? Anything from 1-4 and nothing else. Idk if it takes a while and appears as a two-parter or so, I bet you can’t speed run an explained video about their name etymology and design origin beforehand.
To note about Arkeya is that like Karyote it’s named after archea another branch of the evolutionary tree and Karyote is made of multiple eyes as opposed to Arkeya’s one eye because eularyotes are the basis of multicellular organisms
How funny, I thought of the same connection to Archaea but focused on their extremophile nature. Maybe implying Arkeya could "survive even death" as the dark type xD our points are completely parallel to each other but still kind of support the theory :3
19:42 Overseer reminds of a Kirby 64 boss: Miracle Matter. Both are blood red eyes on a 20 sided die shape with the only difference being that Miracle Matter is white, not purple
8:19 Barkbyte reminds me of Wappy Dog for the Nintendo DS as that game came with a little robotic dog that interacted with the game. I actually had that game as a kid and it was pretty fun
A couple of these spirits look remarkably similar to bosses from Kirby 64, Tidan looks like Magman but made of water instead of magma, and Overseer is literally just purple Miracle Matter
I look forward to Lockstin and Knoggin making videos of the monsters and there in origins for Monster Tamers it is just cool to see and gives the devs support for the game a win win!
Overseer also resembles the base form of Miracle Matter, the (semi)final boss from Kirby 64 which can change forms to use the same elements Kirby used throughout the game against him.
I have never heard of these, thanks for sharing! I am working on my own project with pixel art and these were quite inspiring for character concepts, though I prefer characters that aren’t so on the nose with being a literal object like the lamp. I do love Fishbo though which breaks that rule. And interesting they included Radlad from Ooblets O_O !!

I'm saddened to realize that L&G never made a video to cover the different creatures in Monster Sanctuary. Game is a bit dated now, but here's hoping. 😅
i'm surprised you didn't show a Legend of Korra's dark spirit in Arkeya's description. i think they look very alike, as a purple snakey flat dark spirit with a prominent symbol on its "face"

I know a lot of Yo-Kai in that game are recolors of another Yo-Kai with a different name (you could probably make a video exclusively on all the Jibanyan variants, Jibanyan being the Pikachu of the series) but I still think it would be interesting to see.
