    Quilter’s Limiter has been a highlight of all their amps for years. Glad you’re drawing attention to it.

      If that’s a feature on their larger format amps then I need to try their larger format amps.

      @@markjohnstonofficial Honestly, about 7-8 years ago I was about to get a Deluxe Reverb Reissue, knew about Quilter and how they sounded. Ended up getting a Micropro Mach 2 HD used for abour the same price. Really was just looking for cleans with trem and reverb. I've gigged it out a bunch and it does everything I ask of it. 19 lbs. Edge of breakup tones at any volume, takes pedals like a champ, never had it past 55 with a drummer, with the larger footswitch I can throw a delay in the bag and have all I need for open mics and more inde/ roots based music (stuff that's not to pedal heavy). Does a good job modeling the feel of the amp models that they are trying to hit at. I've never really cared about the accuracy of models as long as they sound great. Usuallu leave it on the Fender mode because that's how my ear hears cleans. The best part is that stopped me looking for other amps. ..it's just the rool I use for that job, Can't say enough about it. I'll be getting a Cub US for an ultralight wet/dry 2 amp rig.

    The point of the up facing XLR's is for stage use. It is much easier for your sound guy to pop the mic cables in when they face upwards. Less chance to disturb and other routing you may have. When I had a home studio, most important cables were custom made. Throwing on a 90 degree plug would be no big deal.

    I Have the Quilter Mach 3 combo. It's the best sounding analog amp I have ever heard or owned. You should check it out. Jay Leonard J and RJ Ronquillo have excellent demos of them. :)

      I have 3 quilters !the mach 1 micropro 200,OD 202 and interblock 45 dude they're all fucking unreal! I don't know wtf pat quilter is doing but he's unbelievable! The only other amp that rivals quilters solid-state technology is amp1 mercury edition from bluguitar that's unreal ! And the quilter wedge 2x8 cab is literally as loud as a 4x12 cab

    As far as the face mounted XLRs, I personally prefer them this way. I can mount other pedals or a power supply behind this, and not have to leave a huge amount of space behind it for plugging in XLR cables. Given the onboard footswitches, I’d prefer to have this mounted at the front of my board.

      Absolutely incredible band. I am new to them but there's a real chance that No Joy is in my top 5 most listened to records this year.

    Sounds really nice. Not being able to save at least a few presets (let's say four, like a Fender clean, a Marshall low crunch, a VOX boosty crunch, and a Marshall high gain) severely limits its versatility and potential live-usability though. And without offering that it seems a little on the expensive side.

      It's a downside to it being analog. Although, even a lot of tube amps these days have preset saving through MIDI so it's not like it would have been impossible for them to implement it. Maybe they figured that it would be too pricey if they included it? Who knows.

    Great video man. Very informative. Just wanted to ask you a question since mentioned that u gigged this pedal. Aside from the stereo XLR outputs, what do u use for a monitor? I mean the DSM SIMPLIFIER X has a 1/4 " out where u can go to a cab without using the cab simulation. When u r going straight to FOH, are monitors not really necessary? Thanks for your answer.

    Very catchy intro. One note, it might be nice to have a link to the product. Also, couple questions. Is this digital or analog like the Simplifier? Is Quilter owned by Nuenaber or vice versa?

      Analog

    So I presume you are going out of the unit into a computer, correct? So what are we actually listening to, your monitors?

    • @applehole448
      @applehole448 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What you're listening to is the direct out signal through whatever speakers you're using. The speaker simulation is built into the pedal. He's not micing his own monitors

    • @markjohnstonofficial
      @markjohnstonofficial  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      This is correct. The direct amp has XLR out so this is the direct signal emulating the sound of a mic in front of a speaker.
