Really helped me, even though my specific adapter was the ZF 5 speed and C6 adapter to Dana 300, P/N 50-9925. Great job explaining and showing everything!!

I forgot how much work it was to do this. I did this with my cj 10 years ago and clocked it to work.

Hi Dave - great video thanks. For the flipped D300 how do you deal with the changed orientation of the vent in the output tail housing?

Thanks I wish I had time for more videos but just swamped nowadays. The vent is threaded in so we will remove it and either thread in a plug or if I remember correctly its the same threads as a larger diameter grease zerk. Ive had a grease zerk in the one I run in my XJ for the last 10 years and I havent noticed any leak issues.

Do you prefer the Advanced or Novak adapter? I think I'm doing this on my Scout II, pass drop with SOA on a 4l60e.

I tend to use Novak more, no major reasoning behind that other than they have a lot of technical information on their website.

I'm about to get started on this for a 4l60e. What about leaking issues on the shift rails now that its on the bottom? I keep hearing about shoving another seal, or a double lip seal, but haven't seen how its done.

Have you tested fit it up to the 4l60e? Flipped the shift rails in the stock position often hit the transmission o. The 4l60e. I'm I the process of installing a behemoth drive train kit on one to shift from the now top. As for the leaking from the seals, mine leaked, but that was with not changing or doing anything for the seals. Didn't leak enough to be concerned to concerned about it. I also had a sight glass kit though to see fluid level.

@@TabooCustoms I have Novak 4l60e to NP231 currently, and I have to test fit to make sure my shafts are not too long if I oval out the adapter holes, otherwise, Novak says I'll need a flip ring and or remove the seal in the adapter.

What do you usually do with the vent on the tail housing?

If I remember correctly it is a fine thread hole in the aluminum part. In a couple I have sealed and rethreaded a bolt into it. In the last one though I found that a large bore grease zerk threaded into it perfectly.

I have a 4.3 v6 gm gen 1 engine in my cj7 jeep using MOORE JM200 engine brackets and mount kit. Could you recommend a transfercase or transmission crossmember that will work with my setup?
1976 cj7 jeep with gm 4.3 v6 tbi first gen v6 engine, th700r4 Automatic Transmission, Novak adapter and Dana 300 transfer case.
    Thanks.

Unfortunately I'm not aware of any bolt up crossmember that can be purchased. We have to custom build per application.

Of darn. You wouldn't happen to be located in WA state and do mobile repair and builds?
I doubt it but I built my crossmember but would prefer to find a professional as I am a novice welder. 😏
