Just wanted to say a massive thank you to the guys for all the videos that you've done. Had my first match this weekend and came 4th of 28 anglers on a venue I'd never fished couldn't have done it without all the tips and tricks that you have shared!
Really appreciate the time and effort that's gone into making these videos, and the many laughs you've given to all of us in these weird times...thanks guys
As a pleasure angler on natural and commercial's, I've noticed a few things over the past few years. It depends on the venue as some fish easy, throw your line out and bag up and other venues.. you have to work out what bait, little and often or fill in! Are you fishing top 2 plus 2 or are you going out 12.5 metres? What fish are you targeting? etc On the deck or shallow? How many fish do you want or need to catch? In Winter I aim for 50 fish of any size. If big fish come along then it's a bonus. I see many anglers sitting there all day and do nothing, and catch nothing, don't feed and don't try to read their peg Throwing a 10mm pellet out and sitting in your chair and falling asleep gets you nowhere... Another great video and you highlight some important issues. Thanks
Another top video Rich I've recently come back to match fishing after a very long break I've chosen to fish the open scene yes I get smashed up big time but I've got to know some good anglers and thier always willing to help me improve
Great vid 👍 was at Partriges today caught about 40lb of roach on Holbar. Giving my mate stick all day because he was blanking then he pulled a 16lb carp out on the pole last cast 🤣
I club fished for a few years and then started a few open matches in 2019, it is very daunting but you can't beat it. I always go with the thought in my head that I am one of the crappest in the match and then I am never disappointed if I don't win owt 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Rich
Good video, my friend Nath is just getting started and finds these videos really helpful. Can you do videos on how to cast, feed, play fish, and land fish please. Oh and how to use a rod bag, he struggled open his today bless him
I remember my first match I came second with 45lb 3 oz my dad won the match with 82lb I lost a few lol that was in 2004 at Stockton res the last match I fished was a open on little gearys at Packington I won my section with 25lb of silvers on a very cold day back in 2015 February time
I’ve decided to have a go at a few matches this year both at tunnel. Never entered before but keen to have a go but a little scared lol The ones I’ve entered are Fish O and summer festival 😀 was thinking of getting some coaching for abit more knowledge. Absolutely love watching your videos thank you Team 👍🏻
I was taught by ivan the great? Told me to use brain, not mouth. No good on the swing tip, Ivan Marks said sit on hands , let bite develope when bream fishing. Waited that long, hands went numb and ended up falling off box and pi....ing down leg.lol. Also when hemp fishing overheard his mate say the art to becoming expert was knowing when to put shot in pears, so went to supermarket and brought my first tin 🤔
If you catch fish on your local river, you should be fine on a commercial, don’t panic and like Jamie says, let anglers around you. Tell you we’re the fish are.👍
Me too - started off in my youth with a fibreglass rod & Intrepid black prince, fished lots of matches & did well as a junior, then gave it up. Missed all the pole revolution, came back to angling a few years ago but just do the same as I always did but with better rods & reels. Pleasure only though. Took me years to have the courage to go fishing without maggots (pellets only). Wouldn't know where to start with a pole.......
Pretty much yes, for pleasure fishing you can get away with just a chair but to be efficient for matches a box means you can have everything positioned correctly and makes fishing a pole a lot more comfy.
All subjective depending where you’re fishing. Have a look at our ‘Winning Ways Basics’ channel as we’ve got videos looking at line diameter, elastics and all sorts.

Mega venue, plenty of bites to be had, just enjoy the experience 😍
@@WinningWays thank you for the reply really appreciated 👍🏻
Fair play mate balls of steel going in at the deep end
@@timothyjolley1865 more experience and challenging I guess but something I’m willing to pursue in future matches and events 👍🏻
There all approachable before and after match at tunnel, plus there must be a new feature done on there every month by a top angler.👍enjoy👏👏
whats your all time pb for any species ?
I agree! I fish and play golf. IMO Golf is a better sport.
You are at birch house again I would love to meet you guys there one day
Great honest advice 👍

I'm nervous about fishing my local stillwater as all I've ever done is river fishing
If you catch fish on your local river, you should be fine on a commercial, don’t panic and like Jamie says, let anglers around you. Tell you we’re the fish are.👍
@@davep6286 thanks
I have been toying with fishing a few matches but don’t have and have never used a pole. Are there any match anglers who don’t fish a pole?
There are feeder only matches, Plus the next few weeks you will see more n more pellet waggler, winning or framing wins.👍

Is a box necessary for match fishing ?
Pretty much yes, for pleasure fishing you can get away with just a chair but to be efficient for matches a box means you can have everything positioned correctly and makes fishing a pole a lot more comfy.
Great info, thanks lads 👍
Great advice from too great anglers.
Two*
Valuable tips as always
Well been studying hard all lockdown so im gonna smash everyone up at heronbrook on the 14th......lol
Hey lads how can I contact you to coach me?? Thanks! Love your vids!!
grant 888 have you been coached by them then?
grant 888 thanks for the heads up bud!!
Nice one well done chaps 🐳🐳🥳
My mate creates his only island with how much he pots in ..... surprised he don’t have to re-plumb every half hour lol
You’ve seen Andy fish then 😂
I have a mate whenever he arrives at the swim he gets a chorus of 'Beep Beep Beep ... Bait Truck Reversing...Beep Beep Beep...'etc
Winning your first section....then your first match.....get those off your back and you relax a bit
Awsome match tip guys im glad Andy showed why he is so sensitive sweet sweet love lol
That thumbnails so wrong🤦♂️
😂😂
Not very nice to tell us to use lighter tackle and then not tell what lighter tackle to use.

Seeing them spending so much time advertising an app. Dissapointing
How dare we actually try and earn a living 😂
Lol must be a man thing reading on the throne
Yes but do I have to dress like a power ranger?
It’s 2021... You can dress however you want and no one can say a thing 👍🏻
