Thanks for all the information, particularly the comparison between the 582 and the 912. There's one for sale here with a 75 hp Continental, I'm kind of interested in that.. your thoughts on a 75 hp Continental up front?
Hi Spike, Sorry I only just saw your question. I don't have any experience on the Continental engines. It is most likely a bit heavier than the Rotax but you don't have the weight and complexity of the liquid cooling system. Continental parts would have to be cheaper than Rotax parts. There are a few fuselage modifications for heavier engines which basically moves the firewall aft about 6" don't know if the one you were looking at has that modification or if it even need the mod. Sorry Doug Kehoe, I only just saw your question, I really have no idea what’s happening at the factory. I do know they were knocked around quite a bit with COVID but other than that I have no idea. I’ve heard others making the same complaints, I guess you just have to keep trying. I’ve also heard others say they copy all of the Murphy email addresses and that usually works. I’m back in Peru now and my Renegade plans are in Australia but if there is anything specific I can help you with, you just need to ask. Good luck
