NOT a good idea...cracking eggs on the edge of the bowl containing your main ingredients. The outside of the shell is where salmonella and other bacteria survive, even while eggs are stored in the carton, in the refrigerator. Eggs are not thoroughly washed and sterilized, prior to packaging, because complete washing of eggs breaks the protective barrier which keeps eggs fresh (inside the shell). Through the mixing process shown in this video, the person doing the mixing clears the excess from the spoon by rubbing partially mixed cookie dough against the exact part of the rim where the eggs were cracked. In addition, this person drops a shell into the dough, then fishes it out with fingers. The 8 to 12 minutes of baking time required for cookies is not always sufficient for elimination of salmonella and other bacteria. Clicked away from this video at the point where the 1/2 shell was fished out, after contact with the cookie dough. If the creator/producer is as un-informed as this, I will not bother with trying the recipe.
