i love how the response to the jim button is consistently and universally to repeatedly press it as much as possible upon realizing it's sliding into the floor
The dialog of the narrator pleading with Stanley and asking if he's there and if he's alright at 1:01:30 is so legitimately heart wrenching oh my God how can I find and comfort this poor man!
"Walk through the red door" Normal people disobeying the narrator: walks through the blue door Julia: does a 180 and stares at the clock for a disconcerting amoung of time
I think the absolutely most ape shit wild part of this as that right when they start playing at 9:51 , julia clicks door 430 exactly 4 times, missing the achievement by 1 click.
Oh man, the "and I found it" when Julia found the source of the dripping was perfect. Such a big smile, she's so proud of finding the drip. It's a beautiful moment in Secret Sleepover Society gaming history.
The incredible timing of Jacob asking "So are we stuck here?" and then the screen blacking out and the narrator talking about how Stanley needs him to wrap everything up and make sense of it all.
Lol I watched every ending of the game and hours of gameplay when stanley parable first came out, but somehow Julia dug up dialogue options I had never heard within just the first five minutes. Classic
1:19:00 The treatise vs manifesto debate and monologue about choice is every single paper I ever wrote in university. Edit: Speaking of, I just graduated from university earlier today actually. And these vods have been instrumental in keeping me sane. Though, I’m not sure this game is a terribly great example of sanity but oh well XD Anyway, thanks!
It’s nice to know that apparently Julia too plays like a squirrel. Whenever I play The Stanley Parable I can’t help but stare at every detail and hope for something more, it feels like it’s all put in place for a reason. The doors and rooms you can’t open, the paintings on the walls, the papers on the floor that you can barely even read. I noticed that in the new content area the gray room where the Easter egg of the appearance of a second Stanley is in is blocked off by boxes, and to me that was interesting because it felt like a simple obstacle meant to be put in place for you to wonder why you couldn’t cross it. That’s exactly what I’ve wondered since the deluxe version came out, among many other things. I could talk for hours about this game and my obsession over its details. Needless to say I really adore it and I’m happy you guys are playing it!
1:37:00Its so hilarious when Julia sees a door or almost any item she immediately goes to click it. And just when Jacob thought that was over, she still to tried to open the doors even after multiple endings lmao. She "plays like a squirrel" but he still loves her
Haha, this had such chaotic energy, with Julia whipping around and clicking everywhere and Jacob getting fed up with it. xD I really hope you get back to this game at some point, even if it's in your free time. There's a lot more fun and interesting stuff they added.
This is my first Secret Sleepover Society I’ve ever watched and Julia is channeling so much Ogalvy energy and I’m so here for it. Just… the steady mischievous grin accompanied by complete silence is so hilarious.
I appreciate the chapter titles. 2/3 of the game is "Gaming?" and the last 1/3 is "Gaming." Very Stanley Parable. Also my headcanon is that the friend who followed the narrator's directions and then asked what the point of the game was was karina, and she did it passive aggressively to spite jacob.
It’s my favorite one. I was watching a different streamer and he would wait a couple of seconds before hitting the button. He got to the ‘is never the end is never the’ part and the entire chat was freaking out. It was terrifying
No joke, the end of the 1:33:25 run, where we're just staring out into nothingness and then return to our regularly scheduled normality really left me in a weird kind of mood for a few hours. I had to step away and like, stare at the ceiling for a little bit. Got me thinking all kinds of things. This game is a masterpiece.
Julia's reaction to the French song in the Memory Zone is my favorite thing and so relatable as a bilingual French speaker, lmao. "Wait, that was actually French, right? What the - lmao the heavy accent on Memory Zone - wait what even is this accent - Canadian???" all with the silliest look of pleased confusion
That place you fell down into finally after rocket league was the original build of the game, it was a half life mod Also the game dev is dougdoug’s brother they did a stream together talking about the game and playing it
If I were in Julia’s position I would be doing what she’s doing, and if I were in Jacob’s position, I’d be doing what he’s doing. I’m both a rule breaker and a rule follower. I like order and I also like chaos. Why am I like this
Nintendo can't have anyone playing games on their platform being made aware that other gaming platforms exist! Especially platforms that offer generous refund policies, large savings on games via discounts AND WORST OF ALL: the ability of purchasers to review the products they purchase! 😂
Ok so for some reason I couldn't brain out what was on Jacobs shirt because the first thing I saw was the shoulder where two gengars intersect, and I somehow interpreted that the pattern was just a bunch of wario mustaches, like just the nose+mustache+smile and I was like yeah leave it to Jacob to work that look. 😂
Let me just say that choosing to listen to this while I do chores around the house is hilarious. Non-stop doorjangles and narrator sass. loooooooooool! Julia, I adore you.
The way the narrator pronounce "The end is never the end", it sounded like he was saying "Is Never the end?". Which I think is a great question! Is never the end?
When i first watched Markiplier play this game ten years ago, I was fifteen. I thought it was a really cool concept of how office work is soul crushing. Now, as a 25 year old working at a big company in a cubicle where the company only knows me by my employee number (5 digits, not 3 btw), that opening scene hits a whole lot harder.
I watched three play-throughs prior to this one. You are the only ones thus far who actually listened to the majority of the narrator's ramblings in the skip button room. You have the patience of absolute saints.
"Sequels are good: Aladdin 2: Return of Jafar" had me howling! I don't mind it but I didn't even know it existed until a babysitter brought it to my house one day and said it was the second movie. I had the original Aladdin and Aladdin King of Thieves and thought those were the only movies. XD To be fair, King of Thieves is far superior to Return of Jafar.
If you're of the landed gentry? The note you leave behind after going on a killing spree is called a "Treatise" If you're a commoner the note is called a "Manifesto" 🤣 F'kin' aristocracies are the same the world over! lol
This is a gift. I was looking through old videos of Secret Sleepovet Society to watch and what pops up in my feed but a new episode from Secret Sleepover Society of them playing my favorite video game. Thank you for this.
Of all the other channels I've watched playing this, you're the only ones I've seen so far stick it out to the end of the Infinite Hole bit, so I'm really pleased 😄
30:20 "isn't there a jump off the side ending?" "Yes" "do it" *jumps off the side* narrator "but in his eagerness to prove that (...) no one gets to tell him what to do..." that was ironic
For the console releases of the ultra deluxe edition , the steam reviews are called pressurized gas for copyright reasons (I assume) which made me chuckle when playing it
I know it was a little frustrating for Jacob at times, but it really was nice to see this game played another way. It was nice to see it played! Thank you both!
Julia is like the cats in the study where they tried to make them guess which cup had a treat under it and they all knocked over all of the cups to see if there were secret treats
Ahh, 14:25 - that’s exactly how I played this game in its Half Life mod form and I was so confused about why people loved it. I feel like that says a lot about me and what it says isn’t great 😅
I love when you guys play through puzzle games and stuff like this! I really would recommend I Hate This Game for Jacob..I think you'll really like it!!
Secret Sleepover Society is every Sunday & Wednesday at 9 pm Eastern time
www.twitch.tv/secretsleepoversociety
I fell asleep watching this stream and was woken up by the French woman singing and I was CERTAIN that I had died
I'm about to sleep and so scared for what this means 😭
@@rain7413 rip little stanley
I can't even imagine what waking up during "Treatise. Manifesto." would have felt like
At least it wasn't treatise manifesto
This is why I never feel too bad for Julia during Drawtectives... She would be doing the same thing to whoever else was the DM.
You can see it in Drawga
Wow, that really is what Stanley parable is about, isn't it. Just a DM trying to tell his story to a very unruly player.
She'd do much worse
DM: You're walking down a hallway with a thousand locked doors. You try to-
Julia: Is this one opened?
DM: They're all locked.
Julia: I jiggle the knob a li'l. Does it open?

@@ItDoesntMatterReally I read the DM as Caldwell
The mischievous look on Julia’s face while she completely defied the narrator the entire time was very wholesome. What a rascal.
I didn't understand this game in 2013. Now I do, thank you. Delightful streem
Local woman evil
It's exactly what I did on my first playthrough lmao
"What did you WANT to see? Vehicles? SKILL TREES?" "Outfits :3"
the fact we get to "I regret letting you play a game" less than 3 minutes into the playtime... this is gonna be a good one
My personal favourite moment of Jacob frustration was "I hope you get carpal tunnel"
@@evanholt1752 I loved her comeback for that
I already have it
My doctor asked if I could click less and I said no
“You play like a squirrel” is very accurate lol
I havent stopped thinking about that quote ever since i heard it
Thought of Jacob saying it again when they got the "New new Content".
this was the perfect game for julia, who never plays games how they're intended anyway
I would have loved it if just this once she did EXACTLY what the narrator told her.. Repeatedly. xD
i love how the response to the jim button is consistently and universally to repeatedly press it as much as possible upon realizing it's sliding into the floor
The narrator sounds like a frustrated DM and Julia is the chaotic stupid joke character love it
The dialog of the narrator pleading with Stanley and asking if he's there and if he's alright at 1:01:30 is so legitimately heart wrenching oh my God how can I find and comfort this poor man!
I felt the same, poor narrator
It really is! I kept saying "oh I hate that, oh no" like someone hug the narrator, he needs his emotional support Stanley
Yeah I felt very sad during that ending
RIGHT????? I was so heart broken for him XD and it just kept going!!!! Like no!!!! Help him!!!!
that VA could make any script convincing i swear.
"Walk through the red door"

How the fuck did Julia turn Stanley Parable into a horror game, genuinely impressive fuckery
by being annoying LMAO

dude, i love your vids!
This game was made for Julia, who's whole reason for playing a game is detailing and derailing.
But wouldn't that mean Julia is playing the game as it is intended?
Lol I watched every ending of the game and hours of gameplay when stanley parable first came out, but somehow Julia dug up dialogue options I had never heard within just the first five minutes. Classic
Well they added new stuff for this version
Well it IS the new version, so it's very possible those options didn't exist before :P
If you just jumped to 1:20:52 without any context, you'd think they've gone mad.

Congraduations!
Congratulations!! You really did it! That’s a lot of work and I’m sure you earned it well. Good job, stranger. ( ˃̶᷇ ‧̫ ˂̶᷆ )
The heaven ending is literally rotating buttons that go on for eternity. I feel like Julia would enjoy that ending a lot.
I really hoped someone hopped onto the stream while they were all just repeating "treatise, manifesto" over and over
As a Dungeon Master, I sympathize heavily with the Narrator
Honestly, I kinda wanna hug the narrator
The part where we're looking at Stanley from above, the narrator sounds so upset
It’s nice to know that apparently Julia too plays like a squirrel. Secret Sleepover Society is the best thing to happen to bisexuals since The Mummy and X-Files
I feel like the dynamic between stanley and the narrator is exactly the dynamic between julia and jacob
"But it's making you laugh"
Ugh. Straight up goals. 🥰🥰🥰
01:39:18
Yeah that moment is heartwarming and sums up a large part of why their dynamic is very entertaining to so many.
1:37:00Its so hilarious when Julia sees a door or almost any item she immediately goes to click it. And just when Jacob thought that was over, she still to tried to open the doors even after multiple endings lmao. She "plays like a squirrel" but he still loves her
Jacob and Julia were stunningly in time with the "treatise, manifesto" chant.
Just the straight 30 seconds of them saying “Stanley” is everything
Easiest hour of entertainment. Treatise, Manifesto, Treatise, Manifesto, Treatise, Manifesto.......
Treatise. Manifesto. Treatise. Manifesto. Treatise. Manifesto.
Treatise. Manifesto.
Treatise. Manifesto. Treatise. Manifesto. Treatise. Manifesto.
The fact that the "skip button" bit just makes most streamers go "oh, I'll show you!" and not skip anything is fantastic. Content greed at its finest
I love that one ending is as simple as getting up and closing his office door and another unplugging the phone
Haha, this had such chaotic energy, with Julia whipping around and clicking everywhere and Jacob getting fed up with it. xD

I think whenever I tell a story from now on, I'm going to preface it by saying that its about a hypothetical real person named Rupert.
I genuinely enjoy how Julia plays this game.
Like a raccoon
As much as I love Julia's chaotic gameplay, it always hurts a little bit when she leaves an area before the narrator is finished.

Some of the original endings were trippy, but that hole ending was of the charts
I thought I did everything in this game and then Julia showed me the infinite hole’s wonders
The timing on the hole scene right before being woken up was incredible. I laughed so hard and I've watched it way too many times.
just played the game on the switch and they changed steam to “pressurized gas” which i think has a better ring to it

Was not expecting to hear Jacob say “let’s wreck this hole” today, not gonna lie
The grandma voice saying “Stanley! Tell me your story!” Was so funny I cried
"We're gonna ruin this hole."

Julia plays games in such a unique way that this is the first time I've seen some of these endings
