Being a Prospect is an honor. Should be treated as such. Never wait to be told to do anything. Always stand up for your Club. My brother is bringing me to the Clubhouse this weekend and I am meeting the Chapter President. I spent 7 years in the US Army and I miss the camaraderie with the soldiers I served with. So being a prospect to me is an honor. Hell wash a members bike. Naw. Detail it. Make is shine like a diamond.

Good video man... My uncle went through the hang around and prospect phase in his 60s.! At 65 he was voted in... Without mentioning club name its a 1% club... You don't have to be a certain age to be in an MC unless that club has an age restriction and as far as I no there is none
That’s awesome about your uncle! Most clubs don’t have an age restriction, that’s absolutely correct! Yeah I learned never stop working and never stop prospecting. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
Awesome video. It really spoke to me as I've been prospecting for 8 months now at 54 yrs old. I'm humbled to be a part of this brotherhood and what it stands for.
Anyone who has ever been in a fraternal order knows the value of a probationary period. You need to ensure the people applying for membership embrace the values of the organization and it's members, and their commitment to positively contribute to group and its members. Whether you call it a prospect, pledge, entered apprentice, what have you, this time is precious and important.
Former support here: Even though i didn't get to the prospect phase (gang dismantled in 2020), i really offered my help any time possible. Need spoons? Mikelodeon goes for them. Need smokes? Let Mikelodeon go get you some. Also, when we finally got decent chairs, i went with the Sgt. at Arms (my sponsor) to mount them (We are best friends and we were on our university years) one by one in one afternoon and then stamping them up with the MG's logo. When i met the main MC on our area (Abutres Europe) i stood there, i got introduced by the Sgt at Arms to one of the highest members in our country, my presence got accepted. I only spoke when i had to. One protocol thing i did was to stand up when someone came into the Club House, even tho it was not needed to, the higher ups saw it as i was respecting the members. One thing i remember very well is when i got the leather vest and the support patch: October the 1st 2019 (gang dismantled because the VP moved to Germany and the MC world was really unstable, so we had no option). Last thing: I really loved to go to places with the vest on. It was amazing. I was representing the club, even tho i was just a support/hang around. People looked at us amazed by our colours. I really miss 2.19. BSSF
Im 55 years old and just recently was able to buy a bike after a lifetime of dreaming about it. Although I dont think the M.C. lifestyle is for me, I have a Hell of a lot of respect for you guys. Great video and thank you!

Good jumping off video bud. Also maybe check out four for the road on podcast or youtube. There's a lot of info from dudes in different areas and different clubs contributing info there. Keep grinding bud, best advice I can give is never stop working for your club. Remember titles and offices just mean more work, not less...
Good video! People need to understand that they don’t have to understand. If they don’t get this mc thing, they don’t even have to watch and comment. We people are individuals and that’s the whole beauty of it :) Some are cut for the mc set, some are not. It doesn’t change his/her value as an individual. ML&R /Heikki Stockholm Sweden
I got my patch in February 2021. Took just over 5 years from hangaround to prospect to patch. Worth every minute of it. Even if they broke my balls, I knew that my brothers went through it just like i did. We say our road name and then our position in the club when meeting others.
Congrats on getting full patch! Man it's awesome when you earn that patch and take that first ride with your brothers. Thanks for watching and for the feedback.

I wear a plain black cut when i ride and im a new rider . Learning about bikes “ my bike “ specially. Hope to one day owe a Harley Davidson n to have the honor to be a part of a club or even have the privilege to be a ride a long at that . I enjoy these videos .
I'm currently in the Prospect/Probation period, and I really am learning a lot so far. Still, loving every minute of it. Great video, with some good info. Thanks (y) I was chatting to the president at the clubhouse last night, and he said that the probation period is to break the person down, to build them back up again. What are you thoughts on that?
Thank you very much for the kind words and for watching! He’s right in a sense. The probation period is for you to prove yourself. Do you have what it takes? Can you think under pressure? Are you dedicated etc? Once that’s over and you become full patch none of what you went thru matters! But my advice is to always be prospecting! Always be working for the club and willing to do jobs no one else wants to do. Good luck!
I moved from a 99% club to prospect for a 1% club. Was asked if I wanted to be fast tracked and I chose to prospect. I feel that a patch earned is better then a patch given
Back in late 75 , I got invited to a run , by this hang around with one of the 2 clubs that was having this run . I had 2 bikes there , the 50 fl , pan , that was old school , foot clutch, jockey shift , 21” frt wheel , apes , and a sporty, which was pretty much stock . But I just sat by my bike , until they came to my bike , and one of the guys from the larger club , of the 2 , after 2 days , asked me if I wanted to prospect . All the club members , took notice , of me , they , saw how I handled myself , how I talked , acted , and they knew what I was , I got along with them , I felt like , my marine, buddies , alot where vets , from nam . I had never been , I should have , but nixion , saw fit that the closest I got was okinawa, for a year , I was in 71-75 . But , I showed that I had class , knew how to give and get , respect ! When to talk , all that lifestyle had to offer , and I could hold my own , that a member , wouldn’t ask you to do , shit ,that he wouldn’t do , and that went for most crazy thing you they could think of . I never had to do that grunt work , wash , bikes , do dishes, they knew from day one , that would do anything asked of me , and quick , and balls , they knew I was crazy , so a lot of times , I was the entertainment, I could make them laugh , till their guts was hurting . That’s why I made full patch in just 59 days , I got asked to be an officer of the club , shortly after , the treasurer, the rode cap , always had me up front , cause I had the coolest ,loudest bike in the chapter . Now , the club , is just fading into history, as most of the old guard , have died , and the interest, just didn’t grow , I dropped back , in 04 , due to health issues , but I still see them , the ones who are left ! I sure as fuck , miss those those old times , with my brothers , riding side by side , raising hell where ever we went , and have lost a lot of my , brothers, in arms , it was the best , days in my life , bar none , but , time goes on……..
Thank you very much for sharing that story! That sounds like an amazing time and the kind of thing most of us only dream of being a part of. You’re right, time marches in rather we are ready or not. Thank you very much for watching and for the awesome comment. I greatly appreciate. Much respect.
Just got this today , but back in the day , everbody , was checked out real good , before they even got asked to prospect … so if a brother told you to do some thing , first off , my post , sounded a bit faggy , that most def , was not the case ! I said just short of that , I should have clarified, no one was ever asked to do any thing in that regard , but I did have like 8 prospects , climb on top of the edge , of the beer truck , drop trow , pull their ass cheeks apart , and bend over so all the club could hear them as they yelled , “I Am an , asshole” it was well received ,but it was not the norm ! But unlike some clubs , back then once you got the patch , you was a brother , no xceptions , if you wanted to fight , well , ya just worked that out yerselves ! But that was the end of it ! But fuck , them , was the good ole days , and I got to be apart of it , big time ! 😁
Man I’m jealous! I’m 47 and I’ve seen some wild shit and been involved in some, but I’d have liked to be around to see it when things were truly wild and brotherhood was as strong as it’s portrayed to be today. Thanks again for the comment and for sharing your amazing experiences!
I use to ride with a MC and I see nothing wrong what you were saying being a prospect is a learning Phase when it's time your Club will give you full colors with a big party you will never forget it's all about a Brotherhood
Man you're right I was the hang around to a club I still have love for. I just realized being fresh out the army, in between jobs, and going through a divorce I couldn't handle the club life yet. My sponsor sat me down talked to me, told me hey it's not your time most of these guys either have thier shit together, or they are so lost the club is life. You're in that limbo phase, come back and try when you're ready. When they see me out a few times they just remind me not the be a stranger and at least stop by for open houses and stuff.
That’s a damn good club then. That’s how it’s supposed to be. Honesty and supporting each other. Good luck to you and I hope you are able to enjoy club life when things settle down for you.

Before i prospected I had to be sponsored. I was Sponsored by a Nomad patch holder. After beaning sponsored I entered my probate. I ran grocery list and beer run and munchy things to bring back to members. I ran four gaulents to earn all my patches. At 65 years young and retired i would not trade those days but i will never probate again. Do not have to probate for any one.
Man i got a story even though is video is old. So a good buddy of mine, his dad became a full patch of a very popular and well know MC in Cali. His dad is a cool person and so where the members i got to meet. However my buddy thought that because of his dad’s accomplishment he could do and say whatever he wanted. One day we went to a local billiards place when his dad and a few prospects showed up out nowhere. I remember his dad coming up to me and asking me if i could buy him a pitcher because he forgot his wallet and of course i was happy too. Anyway i went to the counter to get the pitcher and when i turned to go back to the table were we where at my buddy, his dad, and the other guys where gone. I was confused so i decided to go look for them. I remember walking out when one of the prospects grabbed my collar and told me don’t move. I was caught off guard and just stood there. I could here my buddy get the crap beating out of him. Of course i didn’t see anything but i could Damn well hear it. Anyway i went back inside and a few minutes later everyone came inside and i remember my buddy just being covered in dirt and bruises. I didn’t ask anything and everyone was but my buddy was laughing and acting like normal. His dad then asked me go with him to his bike because he “forgot” something. Man I’ll never forget how scared i got. We went to his bike and even though it was short walk it felt like miles. When we got to his bike he told me wanted to pay me back for the beers to which i was very insistent that he didn’t have too and that they were on me. He however wasn’t asking and was telling me and handed me money and then asked me if i saw anything when i walked outside. I immediately said no and that was the end of that. A few days later my buddy told me his dad had been instructed to punish him because he(my buddy) had been going around and stirring up problems claiming to be a member of the MC his dad was a part of. Luckily for him some non high ranking members caught world of this and told his dad. A few weeks after my buddy stopped talking to me and last i heard he moved away with his lady. I don’t know what happened and don’t care to know but that’s my story with MC’s.

Keep up the good work, wishing the best on your journey
Much appreciated!
Solid video…solid advise for people who are not into MC’s. Especially if they are gonna be around the community. Knowing “some protocol” is smart if you intend to be in the company of MC’s. Good stuff man!
Thank you very much! Yeah, I tried to just keep it generic and hopefully help folks out. Thanks again for watching!
Respect! I wish I could be in a club like that. I wish I had that brotherhood.
Man I’m very fortunate to be a prospect and to be around a great club. There’s good clubs out there and good people. Look around and see what clubs are in your area and check them out. I’m sure you can find some good folks in your area. Good luck and thanks for watching!
@@BigSmittyRiding love you're GUTTSSSS mugging
Stay loyal and yull never go wrong, good luck god bless
Thank you very much and that’s great advice!
Man good luck to you. You have the right attitude and you seem to be motivated. I agree with everything you said. Thanks for the comment and for watching.
@@BigSmittyRiding thank you. I am now a supporting member of the Legion Riders Post 443 Elmira NY. I have to get my motorcycle license before being a full member so I am taking the course and it’s 2 days
That’s awesome! Congratulations!
Good shit cuz I’m prospect rn and I love this shit 100% I get to learn and be shown how to be the best member of my club that I can be 🤘🏼🤘🏼
That’s great! Good luck and keep me posted when you get your full patch!
Outstanding information Prospect. I appreciate your input, and real life MC communication. Thanks so much..👍👍

Man this guy's got some damn good advice. I'm getting close to prospecting for an Arkansas MC and been looking for tips.
Thanks! I appreciate the kind words. Good luck with the prospecting and enjoy the ride!!!
Hey there Big Smitty!! ... Thanks for this well made video on the subject of being a "Prospect" 👍👍.. I've been riding off and on all of my life and you are what we used to call a "Righteous" motorcycle enthusiast Man! .. Keep the rubber side down now!

@@danielwalker1991 all great rally’s and fun times!!!
Thank you very much! Congrats and good luck to you! I appreciate the feedback.
Very well spoken and all true statements! Thank you very much for watching!
BSSF
That’s very cool. Great advice and a very cool history. Thank you very much for watch and for sharing your experiences.

Awesome work Smitty! I’m excited to see your journey to full membership! Very informative video and cleared up some misconceptions I had.
Thanks Fett! I appreciate that and I appreciate you watching buddy!

So mate, 1 years on. Are you a full member? 😮
@knightstar666 that chapter disbanded right before I became full patch. Currently not in a club but still enjoy riding with clubs every chance I get.
Good jumping off video bud. Also maybe check out four for the road on podcast or youtube. There's a lot of info from dudes in different areas and different clubs contributing info there.
Keep grinding bud, best advice I can give is never stop working for your club. Remember titles and offices just mean more work, not less...
Thank you very much. I appreciate the feedback and the advice. I’m with you, never stop working! Thank you again for watching.
Once a Prospect, always a Prospect.
Absolutely!!! Great advice!
Thank you for making this video. Solid advice and much appreciated.

Good video!
People need to understand that they don’t have to understand.
If they don’t get this mc thing, they don’t even have to watch and comment. We people are individuals and that’s the whole beauty of it :)
Some are cut for the mc set, some are not. It doesn’t change his/her value as an individual.

I absolutely agree with you! Nor everyone is meant to be in an MC and that’s ok. I appreciate the feedback and thank you very much for watching!
Congrats man
Got Black Dragon as well.

Had the Valk out filming the last few days. That Sugru is working GREAT. Thank you sir for the recommendation. I managed to get five videos up the last couple days. I went riding again yesterday and filmed all of it, but when I got home I realized my GoPro was pointed at the tank the whole time. DAMMIT! Guess I'll have to wait a while before I can do that again. Ive saw as well in some clubs that they also still gives you patches Patch that states/ written on that you are a prospect for the club.
Absolutely true. There are plenty of clubs that have a prospect tab or patch. Thanks for watching and for the comment!

Great videos , I’ve learned and learning a lot from watching your videos . Everything said i take into consideration. A lot i did not know about cuts . I actually respect it a lot more. I'm currently in the Prospect/Probation period, and I really am learning a lot so far. Still, loving every minute of it. Great video, with some good info. Thanks (y)
I was chatting to the president at the clubhouse last night, and he said that the probation period is to break the person down, to build them back up again.
Good luck!
thx man, realy good and informativ video. keep going on

I moved from a 99% club to prospect for a 1% club. Was asked if I wanted to be fast tracked and I chose to prospect. I feel that a patch earned is better then a patch given
Truer words were never spoken. Earned outweighs given any day of the week. Thanks for the comment and for watching.
Thank you very much. Yeah, I’m excited about it and just putting my time in! As long as it takes! Thanks for watching!
Awesome! Many thanks for this :)
Thank you for the kind words and for watching!

Thank you very much for sharing your story. That's and awesome piece of history.
Now that is a great story!!! That’s why you don’t claim to be part of a club if you aren’t! Thanks for sharing that and for watching!
I feel your passion 👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾
