Allows you to get the front end in more to straighten the exit, particularly in a front engined car like this as when you accelerate it would try and wash out on the corner exit. The straighter the exit the harder and faster you can get on the throttle
Just looked back at the results. Race 1, Mark qualified us in 5th, we finished 5th. Race 2, I qualified us 5th, we finished 3rd. It was a solid start to the championship for us on a circuit that suited some other cars slightly better.
I like the way you “vee” off the hairpin at Shell Oils. I never figured why this works in certain cars and not others.
