I spent early May in northern France and Belgium tracing the route my grandfather took in WW1, and more importantly visiting the graves of his mates. Many cemeteries, many headstones with a maple leaf on the front reminded me that Canada is worth fighting for.

Canadians have been sold that the military needs to buy of the shelf from outside the country because its cheaper . The pandemic just told us why we need to be manufacturing and research and development needs to be done in this country .We train Engineers ,Scientist , Machinist ,Manufacturing then they leave the country because there is no work because someone said it is to expensive for in house production . Put our own people to work and the money stay's in the country supporting our economy .

Mortgages are paid with post tax dollars. The cost of borrowing, even at historically low interest rates, basically doubles the purchase cost.
Homeowners are a sizeable contributor to municipal budgets. We already pay those taxes after paying our share of fed taxes.
Homeowners also pay to keep local tradesmen and suppliers in businesses through maintenence costs, renovations, upkeep....
And after we pay those bills, with previously taxed money, we can add PST, HST a/o GST.
