Good to see you're doing better. As for you live stream topic, there are far more examples of bad adaptations than the good. Far too often the show writers, the showrunner, or both think they can improve on a beloved story by changing the fundamental lore of the story. The Wheel of Time is a perfect example of that, they through the books out the window, watched them get run over by a garbage truck, then picked them up so they could put the books through a paper shredder, and finally just set the mess on fire.
Lately, this is a sad reality. But I hope we can talk about what could fix these problems, perhaps considering what some of the reasons for the change may have been.
If I can figure out the technical details, I hope it will be. Who knows? It might end up being 2 hours of me, trying to figure out why my sound is wonky. But I hope not. That's why I plan to do some test runs.

I did really enjoy your thorough and in depth insight, but I know exactly how much effort it is to put all that together (particularly with integrated clips from the show, and commentary clips/memes). I'm not quitting the usual Wheel of Time videos. They will still be coming. But I needed a way to upload between videos that involves minimal extra work. 😋 it was a retired laptop.

good luck and have fun, I quite enjoy the much more exploratory and discussion nature of live streams than the typical video essay/highly edited content. Even if the stream is more constructed and controlled it is much more of a conversation, and thoughts/points/ideas come up that people didn't even think about. That being said, they can quickly devolve into a chaotic mess when everyone wants to get their 2 cents in (and even more so when the beverages are free flowing) so sometimes the overarching arm of the tyrant must come crashing down just to keep things sensible for the viewers (and I should know, I can get quite animated myself from time to time)
I'm gonna try to fly solo this first time, but if it's too chaotic, I'll look into moderators. But also, I would love to eventually have guests on here. Just gotta get the workings kf livestreaming on my own figured out first.
Good luck to you in all your new endeavors! Hopefully you have fun doing it! Please dont let this bring you down in any way. All you do is awesome and excellent, but we are in no way entitled to it (I didnt articulate that well but hope you get the gist) Don't let your need to make it perfect for us bring down your health or well being. ... we, or at least, I appreciate all you've done with your videos and discussions
🥲 Thank you for saying this so thoroughly. I did this to myself, starting out with such high standards for myself. It helped me get started, but definitely isn't sustainable over a long period. I think this livestreaming is the solution. The only work involved is setup for the technology and then then physical setup (moving lights and stuff). Once I have all the technical things figured out, it should be a breeze every time I want to do a livestream.
Jesus, Wheel of Time series is so vile that almost destroyed you! My God that series carries the Taint of the Dark One itself. Also please start your live with "Fuck! WE ARE DOING IT LIVE!"
Great to see you doing better, I've been the same for about the past 18 months, from a very active lifestyle to practically nothing, though I did have issues from time to time before, but nothing like this. You've just got to be careful not to do too much and gradually get back to normal, but I'm sure you know this. I also, like you, am a bit of a perfectionist, but I do think you should try and think of splitting up your WOT videos especially up into more manageable chunks so it's less work editing them and they are still high quality but shorter (and you don't miss anything out from a full analysis of each episode). It's just a thought, but otherwise great to see you're feeling a bit better and long may it continue.

I know it's not ideal and I love your long videos, but I only found this video by actively going to your channel and if I'd not done that I probably wouldn't be posting this comment now. I wonder how many people aren't coming back because your videos aren't recommended to them.

I'm confused. She points to the main channel but there are only 4 videos over there and they're more than a year old. There are more videos here.
