What is amazing is to see Steve shop the sale lot. His glee at finding books.
Very nice haul sir, really enjoyed seeing, thank you. Sounds like a truly fantastic used book store there. If I lived in the area I could see myself making stops to the Brattle on a daily basis. Have fun and happy reading!
Lovely collection from the Brattle. May Brattle bring more interesting finds this week.
Nice haul!
I have the Tout on Edward II book, exactly same colour but obviously the British edition, but published by Manchester University Press, a second edition. Additionally, there are a couple of his other books on Gutenberg. He was a Manchester professor.
That WWI book looks fabulous. You are right, definitely the find of the day! Thanks for sharing Steve.
The Covenant should have a genealogy chart of the characters in the back which helps like the art work of the characters in the front.
The most fun part of these book hauls is when I recognize a book that I have had for years in the same edition. Three this time: _The Science Fiction Hall of Fame Volume I, Asimov on Science Fiction,_ and _The Visitors._
I consider _The Science Fiction Hall of Fame_ a bookshelf essential, and a book I would hand to any reader starting out in SF.
great finds! and I hope Greg went away with a book on art for Framed! in September?
Rick's book is expensive now, but is a great book. I love poetry and always look forward to Thursday poetry. I love explanations of poetry form, poet biographies, and criticism of poetry. The more I know about the subject the more I enjoy. Rick's seems to cover my favourite poets. I shall reread it this afternoon. Thanks for the reminder.
The Edward II book what an awesome find. I am jealous. I have the Elizabeth book. I didn’t realize it was such a great find. I’m glad I have it.

I was DESPERATELY forcing myself not to make this very same allusion ...
South Africa not Israel
I was an English major from 1980 to 1984. Science Fiction Hall of Fame Volume One was a required text for an elective i took on Science Fiction. I still have it! Thanks for the trip down memory lane lol
Elizabeth Bowen stories! ❤
HAL!! ❤
Did you think it was anticlimactic? Liked the music, though.!
Have you read/reviewed the books of Shalom Auslander? I have a soft spot for them and I'm reading his latest now, called Feh.
The only Christopher Ricks books I own are on two of your favourites - Bob Dylan and Samuel Beckett. 🤷♂️
