In this composition, Goddess is worshipped as Saraswathi or Vageeswari. I have enjoyed this sung by Sangeetha Pihaamaha Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyyer (SSI) many times!!! of course, it were wonderful RTP presentation in Kalyani. Needless to say, Kalyani alone can be handy to any Vocalist to this extreme extent of wholesomeness. SSI did stamp his signature by short phrases of vinyasam..thereafter swaroms with weaving that made possible exposition correlating the raga-notation and ensured a balanced blend of melodical rhythm and rhythmical melody! Here Vocalist Amruta Venkatesh prsented a lovely rendition with superb eloquence in 'kalyani' as entailed by the composition! Excellent tone and diction while singing the phrased lyrics with her honeyed voice. the lengthy Charanam is really poetically beautiful......The 'Vinyaasam' with ' bhaarati dehi taavaka dayaamayi' is magically enchanting! The brief swarakalapana added value to the recital......best wishes
Amazing, very well sung. Nice to see the singing styles are undergoing a change for the better. A few years ago,when a young boy sang taanum for a Kriiti he was snubbed in a Sabha quoting “it was wrong to sing taanam for a Kriti”.
