Translations of 'musical' output from the Krell Machine to the 'KrellWave" modular synthesizer / analogue computer continue apace. This recording seems to exhibit traces of melody. The tones did not appear to adhere to any 'key' as far as we western humans are concerned. I shall persist with this train of research. It might lead to the discovery of a new 'genre'. Let's call it KrellWave for now.
Patch Notes
1. Moog Subharmonicon into Strymon Magneto "Tape Delay"
2. Behringer Pro-1 split:
A: Behringer Bode Frequency shifter, and then Strymon Starlab Reverb (left channel)
B: Strymon Starlab (Right channel)
Subharmonicon was self-clocked but various random (or aperiodic) clock sources were connected to the 'Rhythm' CV inputs. The tempo was slowed manually after the initial short section.
Gate and pitch CVs were supplied to the Pro-1 from Behringer Abacus, which was triggered (or not) by sampled noise.
I made extensive use of my new home-made 4040 clock divider.
The 'size' parameters of the delay and the reverb were controlled by the 'sum' output of the abacus, which was influenced by the 'randomly' triggered curves from channels 1 and 4.
"Repetition legitimises"
Yes indeed. Hiding under a heavy layer of variation hot sauce.
watching this on a shroom trip would go crazy
Yes, ‘altered states of consciousness’ would appear to be the target demographic, to use a term that is entirely unsuited to the Morbius world view.
@@morbiusAtKrell yeah because cool visuals

Yep, big screen and recliner chair, float away…
So many views, likes and new subscribers! So proud of you Dr Morbius!!! A great piece, well deserved after all your years of hard work and study.
This is really cool! Kinda reminds me of the music in Felix Colgrave's videos
Not familiar with Felix Colgrave, but shall consult the Oracle. Thanks for your comment.
I loved the little "chirps" throughout. Nice work!
Glad you liked it!
This is a glimpse into a future that I will never see because I'll live out my days long before it arrives.. That's for showing me the trailer, though!
I finally understand why dreams are weird.
I'll take that as a compliment!
I don't want to be mean or anything, but while this isn't pleasant to the ears, maybe this can be a form of art.
I can't imagine people enjoying this as music but appreciation as art is likely.
No offence taken! I agree that this is not easy to listen to. However, I believe that with diligent study of the Krell Machine and more skilful translations of their perplexing nonlinear script, pleasing melodies and soothing harmonies may reveal themselves. Perhaps I may make some editorial decisions in that regard, to convey the Krellian sounds in an idiomatic manner that humans can enjoy.
Pleasant Grooves 😊
This sounds like my challenging acid trip felt haha.. came here expecting to hear some psytrance :D
great experiment.
Thanks! So many variables to consider...
Oddly nostalgic
So is this a krell komposed piece?
Yes, kind of. It is my attempt at expressing part of the Krell Machine's function as audio information. I have constructed a (mostly) analog synthesizer from parts kindly supplied by the crew of United Planets Cruiser C-57D. I have cobbled a few circuits together from basic electronic components. More recently I have used this new internet thingy to source modern designs, although transmission speeds between Earth and Altair IV are variable, to say the least.
Keep it up bro 🔥
You know what, I’ve decided to take the off and seek the essence of KrellWave. It’s in there somewhere. Maybe less is more.
huh... im drunk and depressed af and this is the kinda music that describes exactly what i'm feeling right here and right now... haha
Ah yes, the demons. May I respectfully suggest a dose of 'theres (almost) no pain on Krell', a recording of an improvisation with Krellaxiom. It's somewhere in my list of videos. It has a strangely relaxing effect, for me at least. And two large glasses of water before bed. (Trust me I'm a doctor)
2:44 bro just turned into a stair post
It happens to us all eventually...
Morbius is interesting or like whoever runs this business, you're fairly interesting.
I am far removed from the affairs of Earth, here alone on Altair IV, with just the Krell Machine and the amazing planets of the Altair system. Thankyou for listening to these translated Krellian Sounds.
So you didn't like me referencing Louis and Bebe?
No no not at all! I'll try to find some more info about that.
I thought it was hilarious that they would do that.
@@morbiusAtKrell I'll have to read up more myself, but I'm not sure if the circuit burn outs were deliberate or not, but it happened often enough that Bebe recorded everything and then manipulated the tapes later. Please don't burn up your Subharmonicon, just the Bears little joke.
@@TheMagebear I consulted the earth version of the Krell Machine. It said, Yes, it's true that Louis and Bebe Barron, the composers for "Forbidden Planet," faced significant challenges with their equipment. They used custom-built electronic circuits to create the unique sounds for the film. These circuits were often pushed to their limits, leading to many of them burning out or breaking down. As a result, some of their original equipment was indeed destroyed during the production process. This destruction was part of their experimental approach to electronic music, pushing the boundaries of what was technologically possible at the time.
AI bullshit.
Rest assured, only the imagery is AI bullshit. the sounds are unaltered recordings of my attempts to sonify the wisdom of the ancient Krell. No soft synths, no DAW, just voltages resonating through wires.
AI is unoriginal garbage
I get that but dude. They are using it in a cool trippy way. Respect these small content creators.
@@cat_supernova2242 You must be joking. The companies and users of AI are benefiting from stolen work. Who cares if you think it's "cool" or "trippy"? The damage this trash is doing is huge. Anybody who uses it deserves no respect. The ones who deserve it are original artists that have actual talent.
In a way I agree, but I also believe that responsible use of this technology is possible.
Frankiiiiieeeeee baybyyyyyyyyyy
@@probability_density The reality is that people aren't using it responsibly now and tech companies don't care. So until there's good regulation and a massive correction, it's just going to keep doing insane amounts of damage.
Oh dear...insanity as music....
I wonder sometimes whether HP Lovecraft would approve.
