Why is this even a debate? It should be obvious that they have to legislate back to work, if they let this slide until January, then a lot of small Canadian businesses who rely on online orders will go bust.

Agreed. Canada's economy is tanking, our dollar is also tanking and is worth nothing and causing price increases on everything we import, especially food. Strawberries should not be a luxury purchase

Let's get a deal so we can reinvent the postal services.

The Government has to get involved. The Union and this employer always at odds. Intervention is the only way things will get done.

Canada Post is a Crown Corp (aka owned by the federal government). Therefore the Union is negotiating against the GOVERNMENT. The Liberal federal government will have given their Treasury Board representative a negotiation mandate. Most often, the mandate contains low ball wage offer and little to no change on other meaningful provisions. So when the Liberal government gets more involved it to legislate a contract and order workers back to work.

It was the Trudeau government in 2015 that halted $500,000,000.00 in savings we were going to reap, by stopping the Superbox program. Hmmm times ten years, what would we have saved by now?

Pay the workers, give them a proper fair contract. Its been since 2018, how does it take this long. Canada Post needs a complete overhaul, they are bleeding money. Small on-line business here, in a small rural community, I need Canada Post as Q4 is the busiest period for my business and I have no other options in my community. Typical politician, talk a lot and say nothing.

@cjdragonsplanet3509 Many Letter Carriers work 6 hrs/day & get paid for 7.5 hrs/day. Just how much do you want to pay them. They have no education, little responsibility, flexible work hours, benefits that are on par with other civil servants. The Posties are bleeding the country dry & lazy to boot.
