Why is this even a debate? It should be obvious that they have to legislate back to work, if they let this slide until January, then a lot of small Canadian businesses who rely on online orders will go bust.
Agreed. Canada's economy is tanking, our dollar is also tanking and is worth nothing and causing price increases on everything we import, especially food. Strawberries should not be a luxury purchase
Canada Post is a Crown Corp (aka owned by the federal government). Therefore the Union is negotiating against the GOVERNMENT. The Liberal federal government will have given their Treasury Board representative a negotiation mandate. Most often, the mandate contains low ball wage offer and little to no change on other meaningful provisions. So when the Liberal government gets more involved it to legislate a contract and order workers back to work.
Nice work Mike on a case by case, they lose all the time and they will keep losing which the liberals and NDP would just go away I commend you Mike for trying to get a straight answer
It was the Trudeau government in 2015 that halted $500,000,000.00 in savings we were going to reap, by stopping the Superbox program. Hmmm times ten years, what would we have saved by now?
Pay the workers, give them a proper fair contract. Its been since 2018, how does it take this long. Canada Post needs a complete overhaul, they are bleeding money. Small on-line business here, in a small rural community, I need Canada Post as Q4 is the busiest period for my business and I have no other options in my community. Typical politician, talk a lot and say nothing.
@cjdragonsplanet3509 Many Letter Carriers work 6 hrs/day & get paid for 7.5 hrs/day. Just how much do you want to pay them. They have no education, little responsibility, flexible work hours, benefits that are on par with other civil servants. The Posties are bleeding the country dry & lazy to boot.
Another Slimeball Politician

Let's get a deal so we can reinvent the postal services.
They always say no we wouldn't, then do the exact opposite.
Maybe Jugmeet will finally vote non confidence if they do back to work legislation... Doubt it but we can hope
The Government has to get involved. The Union and this employer always at odds. Intervention is the only way things will get done.
I agree. I am an employee and I just want to work

What happens to our disability pensions? Also government cheques for seniors at Christmas time crappy timing for postal service striking.😢
They don’t offer direct deposit?
"Why are we still fighting certain veterans groups in court? Because they're asking for more than we are able to give right now,"
Justin 🇨🇦
they need to get off their butts and go back to work stupid unions are holding Canada hostage just the NDP liberals
Still delivering by Canada Post volunteer
They’re gonna intervene guaranteed….whatcha gonna do about that Jagmeet? You talk the talk, gonna walk the walk Jagmeet?
Don't wait too long for the canada post strike
They’d better.
I’m not telling my children that Santa’s been kidnapped by a Crown Corp.
Just tell them that Justin Trudeau is Anti-Santa Steal everything from you and block you chimney
He already said earlier that he wasn’t going to intervene. Flipping the switch?
CanPost should fire all 55,000 of the useless lot and hire back non union employees who will be more than happy to work for the present wages
More softball questions.
Joke

Find an alternative to CP

Steve has a 6-head. Unions are gross.
What a narrow view!
Efforts to push for negotiations
Satisfy with efforts...
