I tried a 2018 at a bar years ago. It was so goddamn sweet that me and my girlfriend couldnt finish it. Port wine is inherently sweet wine but its bottled at 40 proof and feels like a Christmas dessert. That insane sugar flavor thrown into a 120+ proof whiskey was not something I could sit with and enjoy. Never tried another and never had a CS pick. I just swore off the stuff completly 😅
@@smknochs1 I totally agree…. That is why I have a love hate relationship with angels…. Even their regular one… is over priced…And has lost multiple times to Isaac bowman….. they are ok…. Just not worth the money
I have an Angel's Envy single barrel select CS @ 127.4 proof that is Very Tasty, I picked up a Cream of Kentucky CS recently and the DSP # shows it is Distilled by Angel's Envy also . Its a good pour too ! Cheers 🥃 👍💯
I like AE, but usually the port doesn't shine through enough for me. I do have a cask strength bottle I got at Costco a while back and haven't opened it yet. My "opened bottle" shelf is looking for newcomers. Mine is way smaller than your open shelf. Hoping the port shines in mine like yours.
If I could a find a bottle of the Angles Envy Rye C.S. I would but it in a heart beat. The Bourbon is not worth $250+ when you can find store picks for $90-120. AE doesn’t do store picks of their Rye😢.
I’ll never buy that for the ridiculous price. I pass on it every year. I’d rather save the money and pay secondary for something like Michter’s 10 or possibly a Thomas H Handy. Joseph Mag Cig Blnd can be found for $180 these days. If you’re looking for a finished bourbon, go for that! Cheers.
@@MaryS-go8dl I keep telling Mike that…. But he doesn’t listen to me… lol… we have had a couple already…. And they were just ok….i don’t want to spend way more for just ok
I've never factored in an extra $150 value for finished whiskey with nice engraving.
@@michaeledwards4107 lol…. Can’t say as I blame you…

What’s up guys!!! Sorry I haven’t been around, took a little hiatus from life for a few weeks
@@dannydodd4452 all good… glad to have you back!!
Glad to have you back Cheers
I can pick up an AE store pick tomorrow for $80 at 109.9 proof like there's no way that extra 9 proof points is worth $160

For that price and proof, is it better than OF 1920 for $60 at 115 proof?
