"I can't believe an American can study this much" might be the funniest reaction I've heard so far. The return of investment of this sub is through the roof. 頑張ってください!
Haha thank you! xD Yea that was one of my favorite responses haha I'm so glad you think so! I'll do my best to give you an even better return in the future ;)
I really hope your channel blows up and you decision to go fulltime on TH-cam bears it's fruit, I really like your content and wish you the best on this new adventure !
One thing that I do find interesting here is that if an American goes out and speaks someone else’s native language to them, it’s impressive and respectable, but when someone speaks English to an American, it isn’t seen as too impressive or anything. It’s just such an odd double standard that I wish we could change.
No hate to Americans but we are unfortunately known for being kind of lazy when it comes to language learning because the majority of Americans don't bother learning another language, with the mindset that English will suffice. Statistics say that only 20% of Americans can speak more than one language. It's sad, but it makes it understandable as to why foreigners from other countries are so taken aback when an American can fluently speak their language. Another thing is that America is so so diverse, if for example, someone who was Japanese spoke fluent English (at least within the United States) to any native English speaker, it would honestly be weird if the native English speaker reacted in a way where they were completely shocked that the Japanese person knew English so well. In my opinion, that would almost be disrespectful, like the English speaker would be implying that they didn't know that someone from another country who moved to the U.S. could possibly learn the English language so well. And no doubt the native Japanese speaker had to put in WORK to learn English, but at least in the case of them interacting with others within the United States, how is anyone supposed to know their background with learning the language unless they specifically shared their story? For all we know that person could have been born and raised in the U.S., because again, the country is super diverse. So I think that's why there is that double standard.
@@princessleira2663 huh… I get where you’re coming from. Thank you for restoring my faith in humanity by showing me that there are still people on the internet who know how to correct me without being rude about it.
Generally, I think this is true but I've been impressed by non-native English speakers before. An old coworker of mine was Korean and I assumed he was Korean-American because his accent was flawless. He'd only been in the country for six months and had no prior English lessons. I had a similar reaction to the people in this video, I was so taken aback.
I think It also depend on where they speak the language, people might not react so much if someone speaking English in USA but for example, american see japanese able to speak fluent English in Japan, it would be impressive Theres also the fact that English is International Language so American might not react that much Also American learning Japanese, Korean or Chinese need far more effort and reason, it didn't even need to be American, learning these complex language just that impressive
Tiger, if you still remember, could you make a video focused on how you learned the languages and how youre learning korean at the moment? I really wanna know more about your routine on the studies, im struggling to mantain a consistent japanese learning routine 😭
Yea! I'm hoping to make a video about how I learn languages soon! Feel free to join the discord server (link is in my about page) and I can answer ur questions there!
If you are trying to learn japanese there is a world for learning called jp/en language exchange world! The other worlds are like japan shrine and hwabon!
Hey tiger! Loved the video, just wanted to say I think you are taking the channel in the perfect direction from what you said at the end. Mixing in language learning content with the VRChat content would be such a good thing! Best of luck I’ll be supporting! (I also think you should consider starting a discord sometime in the future it would be a good way to group up the community!)
I'm learning languages too... Hopefully after a few years I'll be uploading similar kind of videos maybe with voice trolling as well haha! Wish me luck :)
@yoondayo4051 I'm already self learning Japanese I can understand it pretty fluently when spoken and can speak quite a bit as well... But I'm kinda clueless about reading and writing :) hopefully I'll get there by 2025 end! Btw, it is hard... But with if you're really really passionate about learning languages it'll be pretty easy for you
Thanks! Yea for sure: Japanese: 10 years Chinese: 3 Years Korean: 1.5 Years Spanish: 0 years (kinda started a few months ago but not studying much as I'm focusing on improving my korean more first)
I cross my fingers that you one day will make a video and explain how you learn languages, how you balance life with work, school, languages etc. You seem like a very gifted person and I'm really interested in watching more of your videos! Best wishes from Norway

I'm learning Japanese so that i too, can become a polyglot. I know english swedish and polish rn. You are 22 with 4 languages starting a 5th... I'm 19 on my fourth language, so if I want to beat you then I'll have to learn two at once... Italian sounds good. I'll learn Japanese N5 maybe N4 and Italian in 3 years.
