What a great tip to put the paper above the glue area to measure where the glue goes! I really enjoyed seeing you and hearing your thoughts while "embellishing" the December journal. I've seen others do embellishment things but not always with a theme and I loved seeing the cohesiveness and the thought processes of what fit and why. I have done some small projects like a Thanksgiving journal for my sister-in-law but didn't know other folk did the same kind of thing. It takes a lot of thinking (fun thinking) and I'm happy to know I'm not the only one. Thanks so much for sharing. ❤❤❤

I have never done a December daily. I am an off and on journaler. I love your ideas and I think smaller would work for me. I think I am going to make my first December daily. You have totally inspired me!! I think that the smaller size I have in mind will also allow me to use up scraps for my pockets, tuck spots, journaling cards, and tags.

i keep a Christmas diary to list family occurrences for the year: whose with who, who lives where, jobs, deaths, new pets, favorite recipes, outings, gift ideas, postage stamp, card sent that year, etc. I love them. They create tradition.

I’ve been watching you and Gayle since this summer and have amassed quite a bit of stash (as a Stampin up demonstrator I have tons of stuff) making journals and ephemera is such a great way for me to use my retired product and stamps. I especially love the master board and mass makings. I am a journaler and am still adjusting to journaling on tags and such. Lol! Thanks for all you share.

Beautiful! I don’t write in journals - never even kept a diary - but I am a photographer, and something like this is just what I’m looking for to record Christmas itself once I’m with my family. I recently treated myself to a mini printer that connects to either my phone or camera (a bit more portable than my A3+ desktop job!) which I can take with me. Perfect!
Wonderful, I’m going on a special holiday next year and I’m considering buying one of those small portable printers myself for the trip so that I can add photographs to my journalling experience.
I'm not a beginner. And, I appreciated a review of some things. Great video. I watched it while baking Thanksgiving pies :) The perfect pairing for me...baking and a craft video.
Ceri, you did a great job of explaining to a beginner how to prepare a journal. You kept it simple and made an easy step-by-step way to make a very useful journal without including everything but the kitchen sink. Decorating as you use the journal is a wonderful idea and will take the pressure off having to get all of the ephemera completed by December 1. I will make one today. Well done!! 👏🏽💜

Judith to be honest I’m not sure I’m going to be doing a December daily this year as life is just to busy at present but then there is the fact that it would make me stop each day for a little reflection if I did….so I’m dithering at present.

I love this journal idea and I do hope that you will share how you actually use this journal in real time.
Judith to be honest I’m not sure I’m going to be doing a December daily this year as life is just to busy at present but then there is the fact that it would make me stop each day for a little reflection if I did….so I’m dithering at present.

Ceri~ Greetings from NW Michigan. I've just clicked the subscribe button. I discovered you yesterday and am in love with your style and gentle, methodical approach to your craft. I created a holiday journal approx. three years ago, which is nearly full now. I hope you don't mind my "borrowing" a few ideas to round it out.
