Mottainai - A How To Play Teachtorial

This is a run-through of how to play the game 'Mottainai' by Carl Chudyk and Asmadi Games.
This was made with a prototype, print and play deck and so may not represent the final quality of the game.
Mottainai plays 2-3 players, or 2-5 with 2 decks. The playtime is approximately 30mins.
Annotations have been added to update changes from the prototype. These are very slight and mostly terminology.
Rule Change:
Each player now gets a face down card under their task slot as part of the set up of the game.
Terminology:
Left side of cards is now referred to as Job.
Assistants have become Helpers.
Left Wing has become Gallery.
Ring Wing has become Gift Shop.
Workplace has become Craft Bench.
Sales interest has become Backorders.
Pick up area has become Waiting Area.

This is a really great tutorial. I just wanted to comment for future viewers that you place a facedown task under EACH player board as part of setup. This may be a difference in the 1.2 rules, but that's what my boxed copy says.

Stick with it! I haven't quite gotten Mottanai yet either but after some false starts Innovation has finally clicked earlier this week and it's such an awesome game! Now I am really excited to give Mottainai another go, which is why I am here :)

Really good presentation. I read the rules but since I have also played Glory to Rome i wanted to watch a video tutorial so i dont accidently blend the rules together in play, as they are so similar. thank you.

When setting up, do you mix the two decks together or use only one of the decks? There are white and black backs.

You use only one deck if playing with 2 or 3, and the two decks shuffled together if playing with 4 or 5 players. This wasn't in place when I did the video with the print and play, so is not explained - sorry. It is mentioned in the rulebook on page 5 at the bottom of the paragraph titled 'Deck'. Enjoy!

Your tutorials are really good so other than some music at the start and end you don't need it.
