  • TESTED! 3 ways to fix the annoying set issue.
    This is a detailed description of 3.5 ways to solve the: "There was an error when linking your account. Please try again later." error.
    1:32 - Method 1 - Set Up via Google Home App
    3:41 - Method 2 - Set Up via Google Assistant App
    5:48 - Method 3 - Voice Recognition Method - start from here if you never had Google Home
    3:20 - Method 3.5 - Room Change Method
    I noticed that if you are installing for the first time, the Method 3 should be a go to version. Yet, if you had the Google or Nest Home Assistant devices before, then the method 1 and 2 work as well.
    Let me know which method has finally solved it for you!

    Never buying a Google Home device again, can’t understand how Google can make something this unreliable and doesn’t even care about fixing it. Going through this kind of painful setup in 2022… never again.

    I had the same problem trying to set up a Lenovo Smart Clock with Google Assistant, and I tried all 4 methods without success. I was still stuck with the device telling me to link my account. The Smart Clock showed in my Home App, but each time I clicked the link to link my account, I was thrown back into the same loop.
    After some further research, I found that restarting the phone where I run the Google Home and Assistant apps, and restarting my router seemed to do the trick.

      That is a brand new trick! Thank you for sharing!

    It did not work. I tried option 3, and the device still cannot connect to a Wi-fi network, even it is on. The device was bought in the US, and I've been using it in the EU. It worked for a few years, and it stopped last year. Since then I've tried different workarounds without success. I hope it is not an EU restriction.

      No idea about that... Do you see your device in the list of available wifi's on your phone? Did you do full reset?

    Hey mate, can You help me? I resetted my Google Hub recently, but I'm always stuck at the setup, it said that the setup is completed, the hub told me to follow the instructions on my phone, but my phone said that the setup fails, make sure that your device and hub is connected to the same wifi, but they are connected to the same wifi, then it told me to deactivate my AP Isolation, but it's deactivated in my router.. help! :(

    • @RomanDoes
      @RomanDoes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do a full set up of google assistant on your phone with voice recognition, make sure it assigned to the same account you plan to use with the hub, and then try setting up the hub.

    • @nikoserafino
      @nikoserafino 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RomanDoes How am I supposed to do that? And I did set up the Hub using the same account

    • @RomanDoes
      @RomanDoes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nikoserafino there is a dedicated Google Assistant app in the app store, download it and finish the set up from there. Hope this solves it.

      @@RomanDoes Oh.. I've tried that, still, it doesn't work either :(

    • @RomanDoes
      @RomanDoes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nikoserafino how many times did you try to reset it? Try fresh reset and also ensure that your phone and hub are connected to the same wifi and both are on the same frequency. If you have your networks split, then it should be no issues, but if it both 2.4 and 5g network under one name, that could give you this error. Also if you have any other routers around, disable them. Open router settings and disable the 5g network temporarily. Do set up and then fire up the 5g back.
