    That Smokey Joe was literally one of the best investments I've ever made at $34.99! It is still my go-to for the solo cooking or cooking for two. I will actually be hooking up some chicken wings on that bad boy tonight! Great channel, liked and subscribed... Keep up the great vids my NC brethren!

    Mr phil, sorry its been a while since ive been in contact with you and gave some very well deserved props and appreciation. Ive been back on the job again to a new location and just returned home a couple days ago after being gone for 3 months. Thanks for all the great recipes and instructional videos. I liked the idea of showing folks that you dont have to have a big expensive smoker to cook good spare ribs. I feel it potentially reaches more people than usual just because its for all the ones that for whatever reason only have a itty bity grill. And as always i try to make sure and recognize and thank all the retired, active and inactive, and the deployed members of all the branches of our great nation's armed forces. Each and every one of you make daily sacrifices that ensures so much more than just our protection from foreign enemies. You provide and maintain the very freedom and structure that unfortunately so many take for granted but yet have no idea just what it takes to even have the privilege of voicing their opinion, no matter how backwards the logic of it may be. You all made sacrifices from the day you signed your name on the doted line in the recruiters office. Each of you bravely but gladly sacrificed the life you had known untill then as a civilian to carry on the greatest honor i feel an individual can ever really have. And for those that made the ultimate sacrifice of not making it back, your commitment and tried and true dedication to our great country will never be forgotten. Again, a very special thank you to all the men and women of the armed forces. May we never forget that freedom doesn't come free. It comes from each and every one of your efforts.

    I just told someone in my communitygarden today about using the brick.They have a Aussie grill.This is the second time I caught someone throwing out a Weber.First time they threw out a 22inch weberkettlegrill.I jumped in our huge dumpster and saved it.The second time I stopped them from dumping a Smokey Joe.It is a GREAT little grill.I going to use a thinner brick.Iam will cook the trimmings from the ribs on the Smokey Joe.GREAT videos.

    I made an itty bitty smoker from a itty bitty grill. For small cooks it is a killer smoker. I used and must be IMUSA USA MEXICANA-34 Aluminum Tamale and Steamer Steamer Pot 32-Quart, Silver 13.5 dia. for the smoke chamber, added an extra grill grate some nuts and bolts. Ideal from Smoke Meat with Jef. Enjoyed yours and Babe back manic take on small grills. Keep it up.

    I am from India and has been in love with grilling since I can remember, using crude itty bitty grills (Mostly chicken). I visited the US as part of my work assignment in 2017 for two weeks and unlike most sane people, I bought a Smokey Joe and packed it in my check in baggage (Truth be told, I wasn't aware of there being Weber stores in India which sold the same models, albeit more than double the US rate accounting the currency exchange rate). It arrived in India sans the little packet of screws that was lost in transit and that is when I found the nearest Weber store, who graciously delivered the screws at no extra cost (Even though they had no obligation to do so). Again, unlike most people from my country I prefer pork and beef to white meat. From the day my smokey joe was installed, I have been looking for a practical video for doing exactly this. May be I did not use the right search key words, but this video remained elusive till this day - 08/04/2021 when I chanced on a similar video by babybackmaniac and I am having tears of joy. Daddy, you have not only have college going beneficiaries - your video is making difference half way across the globe.

    Finally home from the hospital TODAY after the major car accident I PM'd you about. I am (relatively) ok. All my x-rays came back negative for fractures or major damage to my spine, neck, and arm, but I do have a partially torn Levator Scapulae (in neck, supports the head), and other injured muscles in my arm,hand, and leg. May need surgery if my recovery period does not go as smoothly as the doctor plans, but I am expected to make a full recovery at this point.
    Anyway...
    I appreciate the video, the shout out, and just the general awesomeness!
    When I get better and can move about more freely, and do not feel like a reanimated corpse, I will definitely try to get this done and let you know How it turns out (hopefully make a video and put it in my mini-cooking series for my channel)
    Stay safe, and watch out for other bad drivers blowing through stop signs at intersections......

      You are very welcome! Justin from Baby back Maniac did a rebuttal video if you would like to see it here it is - th-cam.com/video/Xco5dCaBa_o/w-d-xo.html. I then did a re-rip video of that one - th-cam.com/video/DxwQQRoHZOQ/w-d-xo.html.

    That's awesome and a lot of love went into those ribs. I found you bc I watched @babybackmaniac do his version. I love my Smokey Joe, but I think I'll stick to my chicken.

    For some reason I never thought about using a brick on this grill. I have the Smokey Joe Gold and I modified it and added the bottom vents and I LOVE it. Use it mostly during the week and I am thinking of getting the Jumbo Smokey Joe too. But, do I really need 3 grills? haha
    Also, I use a product called GrillGrates when I cook on this small grill It allows me to use the entire cooking surface and not burn anything and it's kind of a nice medium of direct/indirect cooking. Love em.

    Sir great just fantastic technique on that smokey joe! Love that sear Sir! and the flavors you develope from the bet go! Cant wait to give a shot. Question; do you sear pork shoulder before smoking it?

    • @sneakeey1
      @sneakeey1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not seared a pork shoulder prior to smoking. It does sound interesting however.

    Hello! I just found out about your channel from watching Babyback Maniac and have subscribed. This video was really great and the ribs looked incredible on the smokey Joe. I am looking forward to going through all your videos soon. I noticed you wearing a UNC cap. Are you from NC? I am a resident of NC, but pull for the other shade of blue. Take care!
