    This is really simple and really clean! I’m nearing the end of pregnancy, so I think this would be beautiful to document my child’s first year. I’m new to crochet and I work best on granny squares right now so this is perfect! Thank you for such great directions and palette choices!!

    After seeing the lovely scarf you're working on, then looking at more videos, I've been convinced to do a temperature blanket. Also, I have family in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

    I like the way you join the squares. This is what i was looking for. I did not want to whipstich them together. Yours was the first video I found that spends time on this partof the project. Thank you so much!

    This is absolutely 100% the most beautiful temperature blanket I've ever seen❤
    I started my blanket doing single crochet rows all the way across and I didn't like it. I wanted something a little nicer and I found you. I'm so excited to restart mine and I'm looking forward to what it will look like at the end of the year. Thank you so much for your awesome tutorial. You've got yourself a new subscriber😊❤

    What could be interesting is to do a rainfall blanket? Possibly using the same colour coding, hiw about making a blanket or shawl or something every year?

    I’ve been looking at various ones and this one is very well done and super pretty .I like the border it adds a nice touch . I am thinking of how yarn sales must sky rocket during this time of year unless the people already have enough of a yarn stash .
    Mini squares work if wanting to make a smaller version . I really like these full size squares myself . Thank you and yay 2023 is here 🌻💫

    This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I wanted to do squares because that will help me stick with it. They seem less overwhelming mentally. lol. But I couldn't stomach having to do 365 granny squares and join them. lol. I wanted black in between too like you did with the white. Thank you!

      Yay! I know 365 different little squares would be so overwhelming 😳 I really liked doing mine this way, it just seems so much more manageable than even doing long rows day after day.

    Thank you so much for this great information. Would you be able to help me with picking out colors using the Hobby Lobby yarn that you mentioned. My favorite color is the purple family. I am not sure what colors would look good together. I would love a color from the purple family to be my outside final border. Other than that I have no idea what color for the temperatures. Thank you for your time and help.

    This video is very easy to follow thank you and thank you for doing a video to include the join and boarder. Not many creators do that. I appreciate your effort! A question regarding changing colors? At what point do you change colors and Are you changing colors at the same point each time? That’s the only thing I wish you would have shown

      I change colors when I make my very last slip stitch into the beginning of the round. I slip stitch with the new color and that makes them change evenly. I didn't even think about adding that part. ❤

    I’m finishing up the border for my temp blanket today, and mine is so big (I’m 5 foot and it is bigger than me with my arms stretched out!). It’s funny how the beginning of the year seems to be looser for me 😂 I guess my skills have improved!

    • @OkieGirlBlingnThings

  • @radingler

    You have another moss stitch granny square tutorial video for the temperature blanket using different yarn (Hobby Lobby brand) and I wanted to point out that there is a discrepancy between how you explain round 3 in that video and in this video. In the other video, to begin round 3 you explain to slip stitch again (after slip stitching to end the previous round) into the corner and then work the corner with sc, ch 2, sc. In this video, you chain 1 first and then leave that extra slip stitch into the corner out! I started my temperature blanket according to the other video and after being almost done with this month, noticed it seemed to not be a straight square. It seems to pull a little, making it slightly crooked. So I went looking on your channel for the full blanket tutorial instead and noticed that discrepancy with round 3 between your 2 videos. Needless to say, I will be frogging this square. Kind of frustrating so you may want to edit either one so directions are clear ❤️

      It’s the “How To Crochet The Moss Stitch In A Square” video from 3 years ago and I believe the timestamp for round 3 is 6:00 in that video.

    Hi! I don't mean to be rude, but didn't Toni from TL Yarn Crafts do this exact blanket last year? Maybe you didn't see hers.

    • @OkieGirlBlingnThings
      @OkieGirlBlingnThings  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Did she? Although I'm pretty sure it couldn't be this exact blanket because I created all my own color and temperature charts. Last year when I was deciding what kind of blanket I wanted to make I swatched up a lot of stitch ideas and this is what I liked best and I just turned what I did into a tutorial 🙂

      @@OkieGirlBlingnThings It's incredibly similar.

    • @Stephanie0419
      @Stephanie0419 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Maybe it was the same stitch, but anyone can use that same stitch. I'm sure the colors are totally different, due to the temperature of each country or city, so I don't think it's relevant. In fact, there are many tutorials on TH-cam where single crochet is used for this project, but obviously each one uses the colors that suit them best due to the temperature of their area 🤔 For example, I live in the south of Spain, so my blanket would be almost red and orange 😅
