Awesome memories you have given me. It's been 44 years since i was boating threw that area of Georgian Bay!! Was with my dad on His 28ft Marinette as we made our way to Killarney!! Thanks again!! Love your travel videos!!
That's great! Don't forget to have a look at my Georgian Bay Cruising playlist for lots more. Hoping to get back up there next season to capture more wonderful memories from Gorgeous Bay.
I though the years I have probably have watched most of each of your videos at least a dozen times. Even when you can't boat anymore, you never will get sock of Georgian Bay.
God's Country me daddy called it. My parents went there for the 1st time in 1947. You ought to see those old photos, THAT was REALLY roughing it! Such a beautiful place with so many wonderful people we still call family. Havent been since 2004, my 1st time there in 1962 we would some summers stay 5 weeks! Back when most all American's made a good living and could travel and have a most memorable time! Good company, the most clean and beautiful waters, great fishing, camp cookouts over a flaming fire, leopard frogs, garner snakes, beaver dams, moose, fox, french fries and gravy and Labatt's Blue!! There is no other place like it.
+Celtic Warriors Glad you enjoyed my video - and that it stirred those great memories! Yes, some of the best freshwater #boating in the world. Although the world is getting smaller every day, this part still offers a sense of being in the middle of nowhere. . . Feel free to check out my Georgian Bay Boating playlist on my channel for much more from this part of 'God's Country' :-) Cheers, Paul.
Yes Chris, we were headed there last month, but had some issues and couldn't go ☹️ Keep an eye out on my ever expanding Epic 2018 Boat Cruise to see how far we did get into #GeorgianBay this year...
You comment, when going through Monument Channel, that it must be hellish in the winter. It is just as beautiful in the winter, different, but beautiful. People I know who only boat Georgian Bay don't recognize where they are when I take them up by snowmobile, but still can't believe how beautiful it is.
Wow, I remembering boating to Henry's with my family back when I was 7 years old! So crazy seeing it after all these years in this video. Great stuff loved the info!
So cool! If you check out my Georgian Bay playlist, you can find quite a few more videos from Henry's and surrounding area. Hope to see your comments on some of those! Cheers, Paul.
That's my home right there! Nothing like it. My family is getting our first boat in just a week or so and I am so excited to go out on the water. We've been boating out there before with friends, but I am anxious to go out on our own boat for the first time! Beautiful Georgian Bay!
And you would be correct :-) We're looking forward to doing a return voyage to Georgian Bay this season, so keep an eye out on my channel for even more stunning scenery! Cheers, Paul.
Paul, this is Miss Behavin, nice to see the video of the trip up to Henry's. That was my first time beyond Beausoleil Island and I am glad I had you to lead the way :).
+machsonicboom Happy to have helped you out on your first voyage up that way. I was just checking your Channel & saw that you are all about speed, so I apologize for cruising so slow. That said, I don't think Boogaboo would ever be able to reach 760 MPH ;-) I look forward to more of your comments on the upcoming vids & took at and around Henry's. Safe travels, Paul.
Another inspirational video Paul. It is believed that the ice was 1.5 Klm's thick during the ice age and the sheer power of creating this amazing area. A great education on the formation is a video called draining the great lake's. Keep the video's coming, they are educational and inspirational
+Sandra Larmand Wow, that's almost a full mile of solid ice! The result is some pretty spectacular scenery, especially up close. I find it awe inspiring to see the scars on the rocks and imagine the forces that created them. Nature at it's finest. Thanks for your insights and happy to have along for the adventure and learning experience. More to come all the time! Cheers, Paul.
Awesome boating adventure, beautiful scenery and always keeping it between the buoys. I would love to bring my kayaks and explore Georgian Bay. Thanks for sharing, enjoy and have a Great week !!! Danny
Georgian Bay is known as the best freshwater cruising grounds in the world. I'd highly recommend visiting - but keep a watchful eye on the conditions, as wind and foul weather can appear almost without warning on that vast section of water. Cheers, Paul.
Hey Paul and Anchor Girl Great videos, very informative and all the safety instructions regarding the route safety etc. Donna and I will join you both one year fingers crossed. c u on the water and keep doing what you do.
+Steve Duncan Thanks, Steve. Glad you find these informing. I've been told by some that they enjoy my long winded insights, and have also had folks slam me for being too much 'blah-blah-blah' ;-) Nice to learn you are in the former . . Lots more coming real soon, including more cruising around on Georgian Bay, so keep an eye out. Cheers, Paul.
Correction...The Group of Seven were famous for their paintings. Infamous would be unpopular. Sorry. Don't want to make myself infamous for being grammatically correct haha. Great videos. You guys have a beautiful boat and I'm green with envy 😉

My buddies cottage is just around the bend there about 10 min down in one of the inlets. Beautiful up there. I heard Henerys closed? Too bad that place was delicious. We all piled up on wave runners and jet boats great times.
The Waubuno is 150 years old this year and has been underwater for 136 years. Launched 1865 and sank in a winter storm on Nov 22th, 1879. Was a passenger/freight steam side-wheel coming from Collingwood and heading for Parry Sound. Where she foundered is not known but the remains of the hull ended up between Wreck Island and Bradden Island.
+Dave Reed (Blue Moon) You are correct, Dave. For the full story, with photos plus a video I took of the wreck awhile back, have a look at my Blog post; boatsbeachesandbars.com/blog/the-waubuno-a-georgian-bay-shipwreck/ I look forward to your comments while you are there! Cheers, Paul.

Taking the 'inside' Main Small Craft Route, as in this video, it takes us roughly three hours Midland to Henry's and then two hours from Henry's to Big Sound Marina at Parry Sound. That is cruising slow all the way, at around 8-10 MPH. Of course, if one wanted to go a little quicker in spots where wake isn't an issue for other #boats or shoreline property owners, you could shave some off that. The other option would be to take the big water, out in the open Georgian Bay, where there's no concern about speed limits, but you would miss all this beautiful scenery.
Taking the Main Small Craft Route, this one took us five hours from Bayport Marina in Midland, up to (World Famous) Henry's. It was 4-1/2 hours going back. Love the scenery! If you got the time, check out my Georgian Bay Playlist for more from here; th-cam.com/play/PLKhjT5kr2l2FDUSJ32njBNbTBkNmAS1S1.html. Should help the off season go a little better ;-) Cheers, Paul.
@@BoatingWithBoogaboo hi Paul, thanks for the great videos. I am thinking of doing the Trent Severn this September. Should that be a good season to do it? Terry
Yes it should. Traffic is down by 27% this year, as there's no Loopers coming from the US, plus covid thing is keeping many away. All in all, good for us local boaters 👍
I attempted to reply yesterday but it doesn't appear to have registered. Henry's of Sans Souci is still going gangbusters. They closed the Ogden Beach location near Midland 2 years ago.
Hi. I do believe the one in the water (the floating lateral buoy) is number C144. Take a look at this free, online chart viewer made available from Navionics (www.navionics.com/en/us-campaign) to see exactly where it is. This is at O'Donnell Point, just before Twelve Mile Bay. Cheers, Paul.
very enjoyable scence. Actually the new ideas on the creation of this lake is that a megaflood , in hours, carved out the rock. your looking at just the edge of malfomed rock. Nothing to do with eons of rock warping. It fits biblical timelines better too. however no longer glacial slow carving but a meltdown of the ice.
+Ron Winke Again, my pleasure, Ron. Glad you enjoyed it. I have more coming up from Georgian Bay over the coming days and I hope you like them as well. Cheers, Paul.
If you're asking where is Georgian Bay, it's a very large body of water that is actually part of Lake Huron. This particular video was shot along the eastern coast of Georgian Bay, roughly a 2 hour car ride north of Toronto, Ontario. That's in Canada ;-)

Question Paul. When calling a port. What channel or channels are used on the VHF radio?
+Keith OB Channel #68 is used for calling marinas that monitor VHF traffic. I can't tell you how many times we hear boaters attempting to hail a marina on 16 - before someone lets them know that they should try 68. . .

Yep, 16 is Coast Guard. The go to call before 911 since they have boats in the water usually much closer than the mainland.
Another benefit of calling for assistance on channel 16 is that other #boaters close by might hear and offer help.
It's hard to camp for free isn't it. Wal-Mart marking lots only these days.
How long at a nice pace like you were going would you say it would take to go from Parry Sound - Midland?
