Taza Mas has just left Thunderbolt Marine in Savannah Georgia after getting full refit and is now underway headed to Virgin Islands. Taza Mas is now a brand new boat
Wow! I used to work on this boat in 2007. Sad to see all the stuff I used to polish go to trash. We did New England to the Caribbean. I knew it changed hands a few years ago and was very neglected. I guess they finally let cut loose….
that mast is worth a lot of money, and there's railings, Stainless steel, and windows a lot more to salvage, tie downs, so much more to salvage the winch in the back, riggers
I was just thinking that lol. The vandals and thieves always overlook the winches, even though they can be very valuable, especially those big self-tailers on a boat that size...
As a farmer I can assure you one inch thick stuff brakes all the time 😂. Could have been crack for a long time then finally gave too. So yeah not surprising.
Looks to me like she got caught in a storm and blown ashore. They probably tried using her anchor to stop her from running aground. It obviously failed. Given the damage to the windlass I think there was only one option that day: stay in harbour.
That at one time was a beautiful vessel I bet. Such a shame!! Why leave that there!! Even if the owners didn't want it someone should have salvaged claimed it when it was just wrecked!?
You shouldn't take anything. Do you stop at car accidents and take valuables out of peoples car? Just because the boats wrecked doesn't mean you can take what you want.
@@sondresolem7105No, it’s most definitely NOT trash. She deserves to be completely rebuilt. And thankfully, she was recovered and fully restored. This was still a high dollar sailing yacht that should’ve never been left where people could help themselves by stealing parts off of her. I guess some people just don’t understand right from wrong.
What an absolute disgrace. WHO in their right mind would ever allow such a beautiful yacht go to waste? I’m glad to hear however, that she’s been recovered and rebuilt back into the fine yacht she was before she got so badly neglected.
The old Taza crew are close friends of mine. We would party out on A dock in Nanny Cay during the Spring Regatta. When the owner passed away, I wondered what was going to happen to her. 😢 she was an old girl that was getting too expensive to maintain, and there was no real market for her since everyone’s gravitated to luxury cats.
Finder's Keeper's, marine salvage law's state that what ever country it is in has claim to salvage. It is understood that you have a certain amount of time before you lose your boat all together. So, if you have no idea what you are doing on the high seas then stay close to shore.

That's great to hear
old owner or new one?
I hope it has a new and more responsible owner than the previous one, nice to see this beautiful yacht restored to its former glory.
Good! It looks very salvageable in this video!
Good quality then , I was guessing the reparations cost exceed the price of a brand new 60'

Did you ever work with Tim Tower?
@@johncrandall3599 negative, can’t say that I have.
if the boat is as intact as it is after all this time and abuse, i wonder if it couldn't have been salvaged when it was first wrecked?
@@johncrandall3599Tim tower is my uncle he used to work on this very boat
@juulboyq8204 he was running the Bunny Clarke in Ogunquit which I loved to go out on ! He's a amazing sailor - captain
that mast is worth a lot of money, and there's railings, Stainless steel, and windows a lot more to salvage, tie downs, so much more to salvage the winch in the back, riggers
Dude the winches alone would fetch a nice 10k easy
Yea the whole rigging is still there to salvage gotta be worth at least 25k stays and everything
and a partridge in a peartree
😂 I just said the same 😂 would take a bit of work though.
Still has winches, anchor, chain, mast, boom & rigging.
Nailed it, and all the sonar, depth sounder, instruments
@@robertarmstrong9166maybe the transducers on the hull but you can see all the electronics were stolen
Bunch of stainless rails too.
Those are some big beautiful winches that are still on board
I was just thinking that lol. The vandals and thieves always overlook the winches, even though they can be very valuable, especially those big self-tailers on a boat that size...
They are nice ones two, might even have the harken electric kit if you look at the black plastic beneath them
I thought the exact same. Recently looked into replacing my winches until i discovered the pricetag
Just heartbreaking to see such a beautiful ship in this condition. What a shame.
It got restored it was in Savannah GA
Hate to see such a beautiful boat like that
Nothing left what!!!! Those winches alone are over 2000 usd the mast would have value too
I think the anchor winch has been torn off its mountings by a salvage attempt by unskilled salvors
Its aground and not sunk, a sunken boat is not visible above the gunnels.
As a farmer I can assure you one inch thick stuff brakes all the time 😂. Could have been crack for a long time then finally gave too. So yeah not surprising.
If you start to salvage a boat, you could be responsible for fully salvaging the boat.
Hole in the hull or storm washed in after grounding?
Feels like the owners should be responsible for that.
You’ll be surprised how quickly the seas will swallow that up
What a beautiful boat to abandoned
Winches and windlass are big bucks
I can’t Belize it.
This is the internet police, you are under arrest.
What a beautiful yacht, a very lucky guy that salvaged it.
It wasn’t abandoned it was awaiting recovery.
The owner should be fined for leaving the boat there on the reef. They rented it out for $30k a week but can’t even clean it up! What the heck!
Wow, I hope the owner and members were not hurt or lost from this yacht.
😂😂😂 if they had a yacht that big and just left it 😂 they do t care about money
This is a perfect short. No perv vibes.
Looks to me like she got caught in a storm and blown ashore. They probably tried using her anchor to stop her from running aground. It obviously failed. Given the damage to the windlass I think there was only one option that day: stay in harbour.
The windlass, winches, and chain are worth at least 10,000 dollars. I'm sure there's a lot more stuff off value too.
Boats like this need to be removed from the ocean so they don't contaminate it. diesel fuel
Likely fuel was pumped out when she initially hit the reef.
I’m shocked the self tailing winches are still there
They wouldn’t be if I had found her
28m/93'.
Steel hull, aluminum uppers.
Massive upkeep!
Nice ketch!
The mast, the windlass, and the winch she was fondling are certainly worth real money. I'm sure there's other parts in there as well worth salvaging.
I would want the boat itself. All the rest can be replaced with time.
That at one time was a beautiful vessel I bet. Such a shame!! Why leave that there!! Even if the owners didn't want it someone should have salvaged claimed it when it was just wrecked!?
Plenty left, stainless, wenches, masts, rigging, anchor, chain, hatches tons of stuff if you want to work for it 😂
Honestly looks like it could have been re-floated and repaired at the docks and a engine replacement but now it looks destroyed
Nice boat!
That winch still good
Themes some nice winches..
Wow what a shame. A beautiful yacht.
Terrible shame, that definitely broke someone's heart😢
Thanks man I totally forgot where I left that
The anchor was let out while underway?
Passenger: Can i drive?
Captain: We're no near anything, Sure.
Passenger: Cool! What's this button do??
💀
The anchor is your last resort when trying to arrest the passage of a vessel, but they do get deployed
in emergencies such as this.
Did you say $31,000 per week?
You shouldn't take anything. Do you stop at car accidents and take valuables out of peoples car? Just because the boats wrecked doesn't mean you can take what you want.

Nice name! More glass!
Cokuldnt the boat itself be restored?
Was there a motor in it
Its only sad to see that beauty in such a situation...left to die 😢
Should've taken those winches, good money
Should have taken the windows those are probably worth somewhat of 10k

A hull worth salvaging? Rigging still up? Just get on the water? 💧

that teak deck is worth a lot
Get those winches!!
still some good winches up for grabs

Sunk for insurance
That's a beautiful boat
That’s so sad, the owner should have tried to save it.
Got to close to the reef. Got stuck. Ain't not getting that out without catastrophic damage to the lead waited portion underneath
"Lead weighted portion"? You mean the keel, right? 😅

I looked it up. Idk what happened but that was a very nice yacht. Like VERY nice.
Wow! What a waste! Seems criminal to just leave it there..
There was alot of stainless steel left
Where’s the boat exactly?
I'm gonna need the coordinates for that one. I see plenty of stuff of value that would help my boat lol.
I wish I could afford to abandoned a yacht like that 😅😅
1 inch metal plate, Mother Nature says hold my beer .

Can you patch it up and tow it back ?

Lol
Chimo
Surprised a local didn’t fix it up
Real pirates board as long as there are people on board😅
I really hate seeing boats abandoned in the waterways like this. I'm sure it's not good for the environment around the shipwreck.
I think one of the many sailors here should buy my 1965 Pearson Triton Yawl rig. Only $12,500 this month going up to $15,000 next month. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
I wonder what condition the hull is in.....It may be worth re-floating and rebuilding.
If it has an anchor attached, it’s owned by someone , by the law!
First thing I noticed was the big ST winches- how are they still there ? - that was once a beautiful boat
All your life you’ve been dreaming about a yacht, but then they just throw them away.😢
I'm surprised those self-tailing winches are still there.
I'd be taking them winches.😅
I would want to save it.
anyone know what episode this is from on sailing doodles?
Correction!..... nothing else left worth "stealing" "Abandoned" awaiting recovery!
Anchor drop while underway, sounds like Below Down Under.
very expensive jact, also damn fast
I can't believe that you didn't think the winches were not worth taking .
31,000 a month?! insane!
Eye think they was parked and bad weather cam an facked then up, boats is up fer salvage, take what yea can use,
