    This series is the clearest explaination of colour theory that I have seen. Thank you for making these videos.

    This 3 part series on color mixing is the best I have ever seen. Color mixing was always a guess for me. But your explanation about warm and cool colors now make so much more sense. It's not temperature as you say, Its pigment. One day if you ever have time, it would be great to see the palettes you use for various paintings. I did watch the one on Daniel Smith, so it would he interesting to see you paint using that palette. And then also seeing what other palette of colors you use for other paintings. Your paintings by the way are superb and full of life and passion.

      Thank you, Christina, so much for your kind comment! I had the big fortune to have a great art tutor when I started painting, and he was very particular with the colours he taught us to use. That inspired me later to do some more research into colour mixing. As for my palettes: I use my winsor&newton palette (cotman) for all my sketchbook work. When I paint paintings I tend to choose whichever I feel like like on that day. I do tend to use my Daniel Smith palettes the most though. I like to use the granulating colours for my background, and then the non-gratulating colours for the subject. When I paint landscapes I tend to go for my Scmincke Horadam palette, because they are a little creamier and 'bleed' beautifully on wet paper. But I will wright down your suggestion for future videos if I ever get back to making them again!

    I have zero art knowledge and I think you're an amazing teacher! Thank you so much for your series. I'm watching your beginner watercolour lessons every week. Your pace of teaching is perfect and you're detailed with many examples.

    Yup, as others are saying this is the clearest explanation and most informative series I’ve ever seen bar none. I will be watching them over and over. It will also help when I watch other videos. I will be able to analyze better how the artists chose their colours. Hopefully, then I will be able to apply it to my paintings. Thank you soooo much. 🇨🇦

    Your explanations are SO clear. The examples were very useful (and beautiful) and illustrated the concepts so well. I've taken a lot of notes that I will be applying to my paintings moving forward!

    I am fairly new to painting. I have done 7 'paint & sip' acrylic events and just painted 3 on my own without an instructor. I thoroughly enjoyed your 3 videos, Parts 1,2, & 3. So wonderful & educational. Thank you so much! I really knew nothing about the beautiful concepts. I forwarded them to a friend who uses pastels. I look forward to playing with the paints, mixing & taking notes so that my next painting will be even better!

      I am so happy if my videos could be useful! You can use colours anyway you like, but I know that sometimes it helps to have some guidelines as to what goes together, or just to get some new inspiration that you haven't thought about before. I wish you many happy painting hours, and I know your next painting will be better, because the more you experiment and paint the better you will become!

    Wonderful series. Now I need to learn to paint, lol! Thank you for putting so much effort into this. My problem with watercolors is my colors have a tendency to look flat and chalky looking. I do believe it could be that I overwork them . So maybe you could demonstrate how to avoid this. Have a wonderful rest of your week Jenny and thank you for again for sharing this with us.

    • @JennyMoedKorpelaArt
      @JennyMoedKorpelaArt  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, Sherron! That's a good topic. Overworking is probably the biggest reason for watercolours to become chalky looking, but it can also be the paints themselves or the paper. I will do some research and make a video of it in the coming weeks!
