Man! I remember when I was about 10 growing up in South Austin. After baseball games at the Manchaca baseball fields, we would go get a family brisket meal from a place called Railroad BBQ. It is sadly not there anymore. We would get 2 lbs of brisket, 2 sides, half a loaf of white bread, pickles,onions,sauce all for like $15!!! This was back in the early 90s before brisket got really popular.

This is way late, but my dad worked for a specialty meat company that made, among many other amazing things, fresh and smoked sausages. The casing they used were intestines - not sure whether beef or pig.
We live near Austin and this bbq joint is awesome but expensive. I think the beef ribs are like $20 per pound and each rib is around a pound each. They have really good peach cobbler too! 😋

I love ice cream and up to trying new things. Briskit ice cream would not be my go to ice cream, that's for sure. Watching you enjoy that peace cobbler is making me smile because I just took my peace cobbler out of the oven and it smells heavenly in here.

Have eaten at Black’s in Lockhart many times. They are the very best, followed closely by all the others about Lockhart and Austin!!!!!!!!

If you’re ever in Cambridge there’s a restaurant called smokeworks that does bbq platters like this one but right now they’ve got a reduced menu obviously but I’ve been there loads its so good
