CORRECTION / UPDATE - If you hit "Movie mode" twice on the VRCLens menu then it will bring up "SC" for stream cast, you will also need to have your streaming camera open for it to render to the desktop. This way it will capture the post processing effects - color grading and bloom.
Hey Stephen...pretty nice drilling into the settings of Unity to create a great flying camera in VRChat. I friend just gifted a avatar that is basically the VRClens. But...I am on desktop and having trouble trying to follow your instructions since I am using a mouse vs controllers. Any thoughts?
The way that VRClens is setup you wouldn't be able to rotate / move the drone at the same time on desktop mode. You can check out the built in VRChat camera which has a "flying" mode that you can use with keyboard / mouse.
This is a superb help. My channel was pretty much destroyed by the EAC update, but this might be what I need to keep recording amazing worlds again. How do I give you credit in my next video?
Hey, awesome channel, yes you can just link to this tutorial. But I found for some worlds, the VRClens videos look bad without the post processing effects, bloom cant be replicated perfectly and some things like rain might be missing. It is still possible to do some short cinematic shots with the in game camera, you can use OVR advanced settings - motion settings: turn on Gravity, set gravity strength to 0, set friction to 0% and you can adjust the fling strength. This way you can fly in smooth straight lines around the map while recording from the in-game camera or the smoothed headset view.
@@minkis42 I'm not really sure what you mean by this, as I'm not familiar with the beta. I've had a try and this works really well, I'm just a little hesitant because it makes my computer sound like a jet engine when I actually start recording it, and my PC is quite powerful.
@@GeneralLegoshi Awesome.. hope you can keep making the world review videos.. also sounds like you need some quieter fans or a pair or noise cancelling headphones. I have silent wings 3 140mm case fans with 5950x and RTX3090 and it's pretty quiet.
How do you record on it? cuz i bought mine and im ona pc and people tell me you dont need a vr to always use it only in PC vrchat how do i film on it and what do i need?
Not blocked by EAC. It's not a modified client, VRClens is a addition to your avatar so it's still working. There are some avatars with a VRCLens demo installed in this world, so you can try it out: vrchat.com/home/world/wrld_85bfeefb-78b8-444c-b4e8-15698fb7864d

Was looking for an alternative to a mod I used way back since I sucked at using VRCLens. This is really helpful, thank you so much!
This is AMAZING!

@@minkis42 I'll give this a try and get back to you, you've been unbelievably helpful and perhaps renewed my interest in posting videos. :)
Also in the VRChat beta there is now drone controls for the camera.. you can turn on smoothing before opening the drone controls.

I was wondering, do you know if there is a way to increase the HUD size? Its my favorite feature but I wish it was larger in game.
can you control the drone with a controller? like an xbox controller?
Awesome bro. how can you fly?? I hope to do. I have VR
Someone could use this for a movie!

You need to be in VR to use the joysticks on the controllers to fly the drone.
@@minkis42 no like where is the record button

is this a mod? or was this an update that vrc implemented because with the security update isnt this basically impossible to do now?
