- Sonic can go Super Saiyan?! Well...here he can! Witness as Sonic the Hedgehog and Goku from Dragon Ball Z share a similar power - to become the Legendary Super Saiyan! Mewtwo has wronged Sonic the Hedgehog for the last time in this tribute fan animation to the classic scene on Namek from DBZ.

I know when he gets Angry he turns Dark, but this is a DBZ parody, I had no intention to get correct with this so in Fan Animation there is no right or wrong, its for fun purpose :)

@@Medachod because people equate super saiyan goku to super sonic and mewtwo to frieza. Those have always been the common parallels between the characters.

Fun fact: Originally Super Saiyajin eyes were supposed to be red. So it's a nice easter egg knowing that.
and originally Sonic's eyes were black while normal, and green while super, but they changed that to always green while normal and red while super in the later games.
I liked it better in the older games.
No, it's because of that limited color thing that mangaka use sometimes, with red being one of those colors, this is just a misconception

@Pablo Sonic's and Goku's voice (in the original japanese version) are nothing alike, and Sonic is not a Goku rip off, they have completely different personalities, Shadow and Vegeta have similar personalities, but different backgrounds and developments, or did Vegeta lost his memory?

The blue eyes make me believe so. If he is, then that's a really nice touch.
You see, Yuji Naka, the creator of Sonic and lead director of Sonic 1 and 2, was a huge fan of Dragonball. So, with the hype surrounding the concept of a Super Saiyan being at an all-time high by the time Sonic 2 began development it's no secret that Super Sonic takes some… heavy inspiration from Super Saiyan. The visual design of Super Sonic was certainly a homage to Dragonball by Yuji Naka.

Difference is Goku had clothes on when he transition to Super Sayian. Sonic on the other hand did it nude.
Charmy would've made a bit more sense as Gohan. I would've suggested him as Krillin since Charmy has a lot of bad shit happen to him over the years (like Krillin!) but Tails was actually a better fighter with more experience and a longer-standing friendship with Sonic (and Charmy's still a kid).

@@mvant83 Sorry that I'm replying so late, but Sonic actually got married to a girl named Sally Acorn in the Archie comics. Manik is from a 30 years later timeskip, and is (not canonically, but actually) named after Manic, Sonic's brother. He's also king and a bunch of other stuff that I can't remember..

(Ex.. 7 dragon balls/ 7 chaos emeralds) even the echidna’s being like the namekians
I love such parallels. Though 7 is considered a lucky number in a lot of cultures, and you can find it everywhere (Ex. 7 Horcruxes), so idk if I'd call that copying.
