@@virginiawatson7071well you do got funny little grabby hand that's pretty strong, another is shoot the damn thing, but even then I don't think Dogday could be saved. He's most likely paralyzed and we don't even know if he could use his arms from how long his arms have been up like that and imagine all the blood draining from your arms for so long. I don't think that we could even pick him up, despite holding huge ass generator batteries. I'm betting we could have dragged him, or carried him, but the mechanic would have us be slower or at some point as we're running, he'll fall off from how weak he is and get attacked by whatever. Sorry to ramble, kinda an interesting topic on how we could've helped the poor guy.

I prefer the good ending. I like to believe, since we showed him compassion and not killed him, he tries to fight his former master from harming Kissy. Sadly, Prototype is just too strong for him and gets hurt.

You see that the smoke didnt burn instantly. Also catnap had too much electricity and sparks on him. I think it requires a high temperature to ignite which a flare gun couldnt provide (also it is most probably a plot hole(

This concept could've been brilliant for an alternate ending. Because while unfortunally, even if we truly didn't want to, CatNap had to die for the Prototype to collect for his own self for us to see in the next Chapter, we could've _still_ attempted to legitimately save him (perhaps, as another user suggested, using the overcharged hand on the Prototype instead, and (from me) perhaps forcing CatNap back with the Flaregun Hand instead)(that may have issues of its own though, CatNap would likely not take very nicely at all that we'd attack his lord and savior before he even actually put a finger on him, for which I could propose a solution: First shooting CatNap with the Flaregun Hand, then waiting for the Prototype to strike but not actually kill CatNap, then shoot the former with the Flaregun Hand to attract his attention before ultimately hitting him with the supercharged green hand, in which way CatNap would realise that we actually saved him from being used as a mere tool), and then, at the very end, as the elevator descends and Kissy Missy closes the hatch, the Prototype ends up killing both of them (as CatNap would've been waiting alongside Kissy Missy), ultimately taking away what little hope of saving him we had and making our choice worth for nothing. This could have its own issues too though as then Poppy would have to adress CatNap as well in the beginning of Chapter 4, but it would still be really cool and, maybe most importantly, something. In alternative, we could make it so that the Prototype would return soon after being struck and attempting to attack us, leaving CatNap with no choice but to sacrifice himself to let us escape. This could've had a similar impact to the first idea without the drawback of having to take the other ending into account for the beginning of the next chapter and damn, would've I been for it, I could've even cried if I had to witness CatNap sacrificing himself after I was given the false illusion of saving him and bringing him back to reason, especially after all he's went through. All and all, a possibly missed opportunity. Some people really are too far gone, but in that moment, in that small but crucial moment, where he seemed afraid, we could've done it. We could've saved him.
(This is very long I know, but please bare with me and read it all!)
Don't worry I read it, the main problem is the fact it's chapter based so I don't know the intricacies of programming certain choices made in the story into the dlc parts. Maybe when they finish up all the chapters they could remake the game into a full game to have more options of traversal, a morale system, and neat interactions with the characters. Could be cool and I've already seen concepts with Dog Day following you around and commenting on stuff, he even calls you angel which is adorbs, and he has his legs back, yay
