Ho Americans. Greenlander here. Please come and clean up your abandoned sites here in my country. Especially the old, rusty fuel drums and broken-down vehicles, you guys left in Kulusuk, Sisimiut, and Kangerlussuaq. You folks PUT 'em there, please take them away.
I do not want to say, “fix it yourself”, because that sounds and is rude. As an American, I agree with you 500%!! But keep in mind that the USA would not have been allowed to lift a single finger in Greenland without your governments approval. Indeed, your Government was a user of the info that came from DYE sites. Greenland was in this game as much as was the USA. All I’m trying to say is….you will have better luck getting in front of your government leaders and stomping your foot to get these sites cleaned up, much more so than trying to get the USA off their dead butts to get it done. I am truly sorry that this military program simply dropped what they were doing and ran. No matter who’s country got left with the junk to clean up, this is no way to walk away from an important program like this.

Hi, I'm an archive researcher working on a Discovery Channel docu-series (yet to air) called Secrets in the Ice. The show looks at what is being revealed as the ice melts and permafrost thaws. One of our episodes focuses on the Dew Radar Station and we would love to use your footage to tell this story . I can be reached at Kristen@sharkteethfilms.com - hope to hear from you soon
I was Supplyman there in late 76 to summer of 77.
Like a set from the thing
I helped build these in 1960,especially DYE-III
