    I like how the low-end stays smooth regardless of how crunchy the top is.

    Sounds amazing, But i'd rather wait for the Ultra version. Hopefully it has Blend, Cab-sim and Growl as well as a more extensive EQ section. Would be the ultimate preamp/DI.

    • @NickfromHighTide
      @NickfromHighTide ปีที่แล้ว

      I know this is 4 years old, but hope you see this question. So this model does not have a cab sim in it? My bass player was hoping to use this direct to the PA and set it clean’ish for his main tone.

    • @Farewelltokingz
      @Farewelltokingz ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NickfromHighTide This doesn't. The ultra does. But X and X7 do not. I think the XLR out might have a bit of a high rolloff though like a cab.

    Is there a cab sim/filter on the XLR output? The difference between "output" and "xlr" is pretty big in my opinion... (9:52min)

    • @zackarysmith2222

      Michael Großeschallau Doug has put a bandpass filter to emulate a cabinet, somewhat, on the XLR

      "High level" and "Low level" are the same as "Blend", aren't they?

    • @Pesso86
      @Pesso86 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not exactly, blend will change the ratio of processed/unprocessed signal and what you obtain is part of the sound going unprocessed through the pedal and part processed. High and Low level looks more like filters so that only some frequencies are affected by distortion. But I could be wrong, I don't own this pedal

    • @ChrisKollias
      @ChrisKollias 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The low level is clean low end sound while the high level is only affected by the high drive knob

    • @georgyj111111
      @georgyj111111 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      This is far more sophisticated than simple blending. Finally what everybody does in the studio in a small box.

    I might be wrong but I think a fret wrap would have been useful while recording the bass performance in this video.

  • @Noah-oh7nm
    @Noah-oh7nm 6 ปีที่แล้ว +20

    This is the 4th vid where the "X" takes away from the bass's natural character. This particular multiband design is coloring the signal too much for me. Would probably work best for the djent side of things. A clean signal with pedal off vs pedal on would've helped compare. I wish one of these guys would review the tech21 DP-3X. Anyway, thorough job of displaying the controls

      I disagree, all I hear is straight Warwick tone. that pedal is only adding color.

    • @waynealderman1921
      @waynealderman1921 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ive been using the X7 for a few weeks with my Dingwall Combustion, while I do agree that this pedal "colors" the tone, I really think of it as emphasizing the certain mid range frequencies. I will be taking my Warwick down to test to double check this theory and will let ya know if I think it makes my Warwick and Dingwall sound the same. They are two very different sounding instruments, so I believe it will be a good comparison. DM me if i forget to update, I smoke alot of weed.

      @@youngmike8645 Still using the X7 with my Dingwall. Never got around to bringing my Warwick around... lol. But I still agree it colors the sound by emphasizing certain frequency bands. That being said, its still on my board, and always on, even for my clean tones.
