@@Blueguitar007 because I kept building and selling. And building and selling. 🤷♀️ my last mk4 jetta I sold because I moved across the country. I still regret that. Now I'm putting a mk4 golf back together.
The one thing I hated about my Mk4 Golf was that the soft-touch plastic peeled off. That and the interior modeling had to be glued back on.
I used matt black plastidip to kinda "redo" it all, however I wouldn't recommend putting it on doorhandles since they see the most usage
If you don't like the MK4 then let me have it

i have a mk4 golf 2.0L is there any way i could make it faster. i looked up so many upgrade options but nothing is specifically aiming for more torque and horse power
My check engine light is always on because of the cat delete. I got a Sprint Drive device which runs engine codes everytime I start it. Interior panels are shit. Some pieces are extremely hard to find. I'm working on my hatch tumbler and actuator next week. I had to remove trunk panels and open the hatch from the inside
The only thing I hate on my mk4 Golf is that it is a 1.4 and not some better engine, but I will see how high of a millege I can spin on the clock, and knowing a thing or two about cars is goona come in handy for everyone

Dacia cost more then a golf 4 but i go with 2003 golf instead of 2023 dacia.
I’ve owned my 2004 Mk4 Golf GT TDi 130 since brand new, it does have any squeaks or rattles anywhere, mind you it’s only got 47,500 miles at present time. … but can I just say, all cars have faults but if you modify anything like dash or interior trims, and you don’t refit parts back properly it is going to rattle or squeak. So it’s not the cars fault.
Plastic goes brittle, cheap bastards hold back some special chemical which is most expensive component when molding plastics.
Just finished installing Bora TDi engine into SDi Golf with all the luxury features so I am ready for discussions. 80% of all clampings were broken on both cars!
Compared to BMWs same era VWs are absolute shit...
I absolutely love the MK4 Golf, the VR6 model is my favorite Volkswagen of all time besides the W8 Passat (can't remember the classis code, but the 2002 facelift), but It's crazy, because if the dash or interior trim was coming off like that in an American car, everyone will roast it to no end. My 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix sits at 141K miles with no loose interior trim or dash plastic.

There's nothing wrong with same era BMW mechanical solutions, it's only VW's engineers who tried to re-invent the bicycle and made this car nightmare to work on. This opinion comes from someone who worked many years as production manager and been awarded hobby motorist. I own 27 cars, 8 motorcycles and one commercial truck right now and Golf IV is absolute POS compared to all the others. I do love my 1989 VW POLO Steilheck and working on it. Totally two different worlds. At least frenchies admitted in early 2000s that they make cars especially difficult so customers will bring them in to the service. VW is supposed to be peoples car but I cant replace OEM speakers for aftermarket ones without some additional costs for special brackets, for crying out loud speaker/stereo upgrade is the first thing PEOPLE do with their PEOPLES CAR - why fuck it up for everybody? because volkswagen....
So it's a POS because your speakers need brackets? Mkiv are tough reliable wtf you smoking?
