i give the Netherlands so much praise for being so artistic with their gymnasts this was not a bunch of arm waving and posing in time to the music. this was art and dance and it was truly beautiful when the whole world thinks that gymnastics is only tumbling, the Netherlands reminds us that there's difficulty and beauty in dance elements, too! and they're getting their difficulty with turns and i love it :)
I'm sorry, but I just respectfully don't agree. I really want to like this routine, but it falls flat for me and reminds me of a high school interpretive dance recital. You compare this gymnast to a phenomenal dancers like Boguinskaya or Afanasyeva and game over. I still just see a bunch of robotic stiff arm movements from her to be honest. I will give her props for effort on creativity but in my opinion, I wouldn't say she is an excellent dancer.
I came looking for this floor routine by Lieke Wevers after having seen her sister Sanne do an amazingly unique beam routine and I'm so glad I watched this. It was so beautiful to watch. I feel like it elevated my expectations of what watching a floor routine could be like.
If they were other Olympics, without the code of points, she would surely win a medal for the simple fact of having a beautiful choreography and execution in her routine. It is definitely beautiful.
I doubt we are going to see another floor routine more beautiful than this one. I don't know how many times I have seen this, but it's always a delight to watch.
yeah indeed i love it so so much it can really touches your heart! but hopefully she will add a bit more difficulty on it, like a double pike instead of a double back or a triple twist instead of the 2.5 :)
The GymTwins yes, indeed 😁!! It's a pity she doesn't add more difficulty. I would love her to win a bronce medal at least. She really deserves so, but she needs to add more difficulty.
yeah indeed hopefully she will add more difficlty, but she won the bronze at the european games so she is awarded for her beauty, but i saw her doing a new routine during the trials but she had the same tumbling passes... it seems like her coach is holding her back or she just cant do more difficult passes or something
The GymTwins ohhh, I didn't know she had won a bronze medal at the European Games. But I think it's something caracteristic of the Netherlands Team not to have that much of difficulty. They focus more on the turns I reckon.
The GymTwins yes, I also have seen her new routine at the Olympic Trials with the same exercises, but I didn't like that one, this routine is the one which suites her perfectly.
I don’t understand why the Netherlands gymnastics program doesn’t work on building up tumbling difficulty and other higher technical content. If they figure that out and combine more competitive difficulty in tumbling and other technical elements with their artistic and balletic mastery, they could actually;lay compete for top ten, or even podium placements…
She loses almost half a point because of her turns. 0.1 for precision in the first turn series, 0.1 for minor fall from the turn (triple attitude) and 0.3 in the triple turn; if she hit all of them with precision her score would have been a 14.6+ which is astonishing for a routine with two tumbling passes 😍
A parte artística é inegável.
Ela usou o código a favor dela..
MultiChantal22 gymnastics is a combination of tumbling and dance, but the sport is scored on tumbling difficulty mostly (and also turns/leaps). That’s just the way the sport works.
Her level of difficulty at this age of gymnastics is far behind she would have been a dominate contender in the days of Dominique daws svetlana shann9n miller 2016 to 2021 nope she aint winning not up againts Simone biles
call me crazy but the music doesnt suit a floor exercise. its beautiful dont get me wrong and shes beautiful to watch but id rather see them let loose and smile and feel the music. they have to be so serious and almost stiff in VT, UB, and BB, let it go for floor! lol
I think this music fits Lieke very well. Her style is not the upbeat, energetic style you see from most of the floor routines in the competition (she naturally has a more fluid and elegant style and personality), and I think she is in fact "letting loose" here -- her choreography is definitely showing off her personality and expressiveness.
I am a former dancer and i usaly dont "let loose" to upbeat music. I "ley loose" on songs like this. It could be becouse this type of dancing is the only one i am good at😂 and with the smiling thing; i really never smile when i dance😂 only when i have to: like in competitions on performances. Leting loose is the opposite of smiling for me😂
I love the choreography. The Dutch are so elegant and have some strong cores. Their ballet technique is great and their pirouettes are amazing

For the people who are wondering what the name of the music is, it is a part of a song called "nuvole bianche" and then the piano solo. You're welcome
thank you
This is so elegant. Lieke's choreography always reminds me more of ballet than gymnastics, but that makes it so special. Luv it...😃
The 2.5 twist looked so easy for her. She just floats when tumbling
Can't get over her choreography and the interpretation of the music ... love this
Prettiest and most amazing, the Dutch have such nice form and choreography - the music just tops it off
I want her skincare routine
Make up
@@brenden6218 Makeup and skincare aren't the same thing. They asked for her skincare, not her makeup.
Literally everyone was watching ❤
Lovely choreo. She's beautiful and elegant.

Beautiful
Her choreography and music are perfect , now I know why she went to the event finals at 2015
such a delightful routine

Uma linda ginasta!
Arrancou suspiros, parece uma buneca de contos de fada

Fora que não teve a terceira linha acrobática. Isso não deveria desclassificar o exercício?
mariozeldamaniac não

I can watch the Netherlands floor exercise routine all day!
Me gusta la tendencia de las holandesas, definitivamente con un línea acrobatica más estaba dentro del podium... bravoooo hermosa rutina...😉
I wish Womens Gymnastic's goes back to being this artistic as a requirement... This was beautiful.
Most beautiful gymnast in Rio 2016
this is what's missing from everyone else's routines
No that was a triple L turn. She put her leg down a bit early but that was at least a 2½
Lindo! Perfeito! Alguém sabe o nome da música?
Nuvole bianche. Einaudi
0:14 till the end in 0.75 speed
schönes Lied
Such a beautiful girl 😀
Le plus beau sol au monde:)
Veronique Coeman oui mais pas très olympique...
Artistry over skills
Sadly, judges only consider skills
If they didnt, she would have won probably
Javis Bcrro because there’s a different sport for that... dance...
Jackson Catlett
And there's different sport for those who obsessed with acrobatic skills, which is *tumbling sport* .
MultiChantal22 gymnastics is a combination of tumbling and dance, but the sport is scored on tumbling difficulty mostly (and also turns/leaps). That’s just the way the sport works.

Music?
Julie Blockmans nuvole bianche piano solo

just if she hit her quadruple😢, she is quite close
Give that girl the gold!
Gimnastele olandeze sunt atât de predictibile. Aceeași muzică, aceeași coregrafie. Nu ies din zona de confort. Ușor plictisitor.

this was nothing that speical. she was luckly. netherlands have gotten so overscored of the past years.
Please stop embarassing the russian gym community🙄 that's the type of comment you would expect from an american stan
