    Outstanding explanation. Having just pushed my trek Powerfly 7 up many hundreds of vertical feet without knowing how to use this, and knowing assistance was at hand, i wish i could have found this video before setting off. This info is gold.Thank you!

      Precisely why I'm here. Stairs at work are pretty tough of the full suspension emtb

      Only problem is that stairs are a bit bumpy and it's hard to keep my finger on that tiny little button.

      On my wife's Trek Verve 3+ changing gear does not change the walk speed, it goes at 2.3 mph regardless of which gear you are in.

    If your Trek is a Bosch Ebike you can try bringing it to a Bosch service point bike shop and have them run a diagnostics scan of the system and see what's up.

    I've had my Bosh Trek for 20 months now and while I've tried walk assist several times, it hasn't work for me and now I know why. First thing is that I wasn't in any of the pedal assist modes. And second thing is that I didn't realize that I had to keep the + button depressed. Also, I liked your clarification that the power of the assist is the same, no matter what level of assist you're in.
    What also interested me is that you can vary the assistance by changing gears.
    I'm wondering if you can use walk-assist while you're mounted on the bike - maybe to help you get started when you're starting on an incline or on soft ground?

    • @SCOOTERETTI

      It’s recommended to not use the walk like a throttle while on the bike. It’s designed to be used while the rider is off the bike. Thanks for watching and glad the information was helpful

    You have to keep the "+" button held down, otherwise the walk assist will end?

    • @SCOOTERETTI
      @SCOOTERETTI  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Actually no.
      After you press the Walk Assist button once and let go, you will see "Walk +" on the display.
      While the "Walk +" is on the display press the "+" button and the bike will start moving forward on it's on.
      You can adjust the speed at which the bike moves by changing the speed level on your derailleur. High gear will make it move faster while low gear will make it move slower.

    Do you have to hold down the plus button and not let go?

    • @SCOOTERETTI
      @SCOOTERETTI  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Paul, when activating the Walk feature. Ensure that you are in one of the 4 assist modes, then press the walk assist button, then quickly press the + button to engage the walk feature. You must keep the + buttons pressed for the bike to propel itself forward. As soon as you depress the + button the bike will stop moving. It’s basically a built in safety feature. Hope this helps.

    Can you ride the bike on walk assist ? At low speed

    • @SCOOTERETTI
      @SCOOTERETTI  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello. The walk assist is designed to propel the bike forward when walking beside the bike. You possibly can use it while on the bike but the speed will be that of a walking pace.

    Hi, is there an option to change wheel size with the Purion?

    • @SCOOTERETTI
      @SCOOTERETTI  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, the only way to adjust wheel diameter is for your local Bosch retailer to do this for you if they have the software.

    I can't walk a mile but can pedal a bike till the cows come home. Love my Electra Townie E-bike. I take it up deer paths in the woods. I sometimes have to push bike up a bank or thru tall grass. An E-bike is heavy and more work to push. My E-bike, by American Law could not have "Walk" assist button activated. Sad for useers who are psychically limited. BAD law. I support allowing "Walk" assist button. The law against is bad in two ways. I can't use it to move bike when I need help pushing and it would help me get over the hump in the road is I could push Walk button while using legs to prevent me falling over.
    Question, How do I get my old 2017 Bosch system to allow Walk button to work, or do I have to buy new design of Computer and Electric switch. Timeing is important, my Bosch system is at 1900 miles and is freezing up display, with no trottle incleases allowed or even headlignt on. Wait 2 hours, and all is good, then no good, then good. Not trustworthy so I must buy a computer and controller, but want "Walk" assist allowed UPGRADE. Please guide me, Joe

    walk button not working...it doesnt show on display when pressed? what seems to be the issue? tia

    • @SCOOTERETTI
      @SCOOTERETTI  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. For the walk assist to operate you need to be in any mode other then “Off”. If it still does not work, you will need to have your local Bosch dealer activate it for you.
      Note: some older generation drive units do not have this feature installed. Once again your local dealer should be able to assist with this.

    Would this feature be able to propel the bike up a flight of stairs for someone who lives in a second story apartment townhouse?

    • @SCOOTERETTI
      @SCOOTERETTI  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Charles, sadly no. The WALK ASSIST isn't meant to carry that kind of weight in that fashion, it is a simple feature meant as a convenience to navigate the bicycle easily on flat or small incline surfaces.

    Bosch has a walk mode... what the heck, they might as well add a throttle. That would be a nice feature to have.
