Only used it once so far , but it worked great ! Spun out on a wet , muddy hill and jumped off and still not making up till i hit the walk button and up we went !

Oil chain . Ebikes with throttle dont need walk mode whatsoever . Drop it low power and a low gear.

Riding on a flooded trail, water was so deep it was up to bb height. Popped my feet up on the Forks and used walk mode to pull me through it. Dry feet is always a win

Will definitely use the gear change hack. When hung up on climbs. I've been lifting the bike and turning cranks by hand to get out of this situation when it happens. This will be so much easier.

On Shimano, you can actually long press the down button from any mode to get into walk mode. The bike just needs to not be moving. No need to scroll all the way down to off. Once you're done with walk mode, hit the up button and it will return to whatever mode you were in.

I use walk mode often because I like ridiculously challenging climbs. The best suggestion in the video was the wheelbarrow, that is brilliant for where I ride because not only are the climbs steep and long but very chunky and technical. It will help my footing as well as give me a better sight line to find the easiest way through. Thanks you guys rock!

I have a levo. Annoyingly the walk mode starts at an absolute snails pace for 4 or 5 second before kicking in at 3 or 4 mph which is too fast for situations where pushing is necessary. Also, it is difficult to keep the thumb on the button especially on rough terrain and after it has jumped off a few times the walk mode packs in and will only restart after turning the bike off and back on again.

Sadly my 2017 Electra Townie E-Bike doesn't allow walk assist. Why, no idea. But I need it at times for my safety. At 73 I still e-bike in woods. So sometimes I have to walk bike up the incline by myself. I would like walk-assist to move bike and aid me to get uphill. US law says NO. It protects no one and hurts me. Your video shows how great it would be for my health and safety to have walk-assist mode. Keep ON Biking, Joe

Good for electric balance bike mode too - ground too soggy/boggy/flooded/deep ruts from old forestry tractors to ride without constant face-planting (but not particularly steep) - seat down, feet out to the side, walk mode engaged, happily scoot to drier ground with four potential points of contact on the ground, up to three of them (back wheel and both feet) powering forward. It's not graceful and probably not that good for the bike if overused but it works and avoids the shin-clobbering of walking with the bike in walk mode in narrow spaces.
I had one particularly unsuccessful ride (saved by walk mode!) last summer, seeing if a track marked on the OS map was actually still there on the ground (it wasn't) when I ended up using walk mode in the conventional manner more than riding on a long steep slog up an empty deserted glen with hidden knee-deep bogs and waist-deep heather. Must have had walk mode going for about 3 miles (and as many hours) that day! Nice descent the other side of the hill though picking up a hunting/forestry track at the head of the pass.

I just have a simple throttle on my eBikes and it takes care of all the issues mentioned plus a few others. What it doesn't do is provide any more power than the motor can produce in assist mode and in fact less than if you aren't pedaling along. On a typical 20+ mile ride i use it for under a hundred yards or less. I'll never own an eBike without one.

Specialized gotta have the worst walk mode of the bunch. Half the time it's not starting or starts so weak it doesn't do anything then all of a sudden kicks in full power and goes faster than you can walk.
Kenevo 2018, levo 2020, kenevo 2019, we're all having the same issues.
