A B O U T U S:
The Psychology Careers Service is a private UK based Coaching and Mentoring Service providing careers support to psychology students and business support to accredited psychology professionals.
The service was founded by Fatema Bangee, (BSc, PGCert, MBABCP) officially in 2020 after spending three years successfully supporting psychology grad students to gain employment and beat the psych careers 'competitive' attitude!
Fatema has also worked with therapists, psychologists and qualified/accredited mental health professionals to help build their private practice and promote their services on social media in a safe and ethical way.
The Psychology Careers Service aims to support people just like you, both students and professionals in psychology, to discover their potential and forge their own paths in building a fulfilled career in psychology!

I'm wondering if not only the terminology of this career's name but, in fact, this career itself is more common in the U.K. or rather, ONLY sees employment or recognition as a career in the U.K. All of the TH-cam channels making video content about PWP are, no offense, delivered by British-accented people or by people who work as PWPs in the U.K.
I can communicate via email if you're willing to discuss this or send some tips but basically, could you elaborate on this phenomenon, the best course of action for me to secure a stable career as a PWP coming out of Houston, Texas(as I stand now: 1.5 years left on my B.S. in Psychology, Minor in Human Family & Development Studies), and any other details you feel are pertinent, please? (:

The reason why you find only British people or people in the uk talking about it is because pwps only exist in the uk. It's a uk based initiative and it was rolled out to trial in Australia and New Zealand. I haven't heard of it being rolled out in the USA as of yet and if it has then its likely it will be under a different title. Feel free to Dm me at @mypsychcareercoach on insta to discuss more 🙂
