Hi, thanks for sharing your build progress. Would love a little update on how it went afterwards with the wheel and all. All the best :)

Fair comment. Sorry, things went a bit wrong with the build. Its stalled. I have now fixed them and just need to re-string and tune it up.

heya, just wanted to drop by for two reasons:
first off, thanks for sharing your paint job and which stains you used! not gonna lie, seeing your purple gurdy pushed me over the edge to give the nerdy a go - i was contemplating getting one to try the instrument before saving up (and joining the waiting list) for a professionally made one. realizing i could get my dream purple in the meantime? hell yea!
secondly, that trick with boiling bent 3d printed stuff? i see you're also working (or worked?) with minis. same thing works there with some plastic and resin models, as well as the soft "bones" material from reaper. there's also "salt dipping", a technique that uses the same principle while avoiding loss of details due to heat melting too much plastic. just thought, since i learned something from your videos, might pay back a little!
(now this is the point where I realize woodeedoo stains are only available in the UK, and with the import/border situation right now... ah, joy!)

Hello. Thanks for your bright and positive comment. Its so depressing here at the moment and a nice comment means so much. When I eventually upload the last 2 (yeah I know I said 4, but it will need 5!) parts of this video series, some serious, show stopper issues I had and have had to fix will come out.
Life is short, if you want one, make it happen my man!
I have since bought a 3D printer a I am back to paining home printed minis more these days. I also plan to make a few bits for the Gurdy! Maybe that will be video 6! lol

you probably dont care but if you're bored like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all of the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Have been binge watching with my girlfriend for the last few months :)

    They are warding files.

Apparently google says Warding file "a thin file used chiefly for cutting wards in keys." Cool, learned something new. cheers.
