I think your explanations make me less anxious if I intend on becoming a doctor someday. People should take note that working hard at it, can be the best part of the reward later on. Hope I make sense. I have Aspergers Syndrome and I tend to have anxiety all the time.

Reading Ktazung is for class lecture/ tests. It has what you need to pass both your basic sciences and what quite possibly your board. However Katzung is "still dense". Kaplan Pharm need to be done with lecture videos and qbank. It's a 3 in 1 deal. You can't get one without the other in terms of benefit.
That's why picking up a kaplan pharm book with out lecture or q bank leaves you lost.

If students or post-graduates seriously want to learn Pharmacology, forget the Examination and Board reviews, the Lippincotts, at a glance and made easy craps... Pharmacology is a serious subject, remembering facts from this review textbooks just won't cut it if you want knowledge in the long-term. Fortunately there are some great textbooks for learning Pharmacology. You can get the full Katzung's Basic and Clinical Pharmacology, Principles of Pharmacology, Essentials of Medical Pharmacology or Rang and Dale, which are all great textbooks...
My personal recommendation for your first or second Pharmacology textbook is to get Bennett and Brown's Clinical Pharmacology and don't let the "Clinical" in the name scare you. It has enough information on classification, mechanism of action and of course therapeutic use that you would hardly ever need a second textbook, although it's always good to learn from different sources... It's not super THICC, about 700 pages, it won't brake your spine, paper quality is good unlike Katzung's Tata McGRAW Hill edition... and most importantly the way the text is written it reads like a fairy tail of drug information, it's like a Rang and Dale, but even better!

Actually, if he's reading all the books he says he is (I came here from his pathology video) I can't see how he'd do anything but superb on STEP 1. I mean, won't even kid myself- all I used for pathology (what was advised to me) was our lecture notes and a high-yield pathoma review.
If you're second year, why would you know anything about clinical rotations? You at most have 2 weeks of experience in that, you know? + I barely know anyone doing research anymore- except for the dual-programers.

    • @symoi1569

That actually make sense, i think he's telling us how to perfect our learning, not what he actually does.
Beside that i honestly do know about a guy who spends a lot of time reading books and researching, so i guess yeah there are students out there, who have reached this kind of level.

I subscribed to Dr. NaJeeb and I am very happy with his videos are there any other web video lectures for a M1 and M2? I understand that Pathoma is great. I also, understand Pathoma is reasonable but, when your a medical student the cost, quality and time is the factor. I think cost in my case is the biggest factor. I agree Kaplan is doing a great job. Kaplan won me over when I was learning cardiovascular physiology. I looked many videos muscle contraction and when I turn to a Kaplan's MCAT book the diagram and description on the sacromere and muscle calcium physiology made it so simple. Katzhung and Trevor is very good. I really enjoy reading that Pharmacology book. My question really what are the video Internet channels, web sites and pod casts that support medical education that are not geared for the general public but, for medical students and doctors? I learn quicker with Dr NaJeeb etc... than I do a book for basic medical education.

I think u shud have said how to get ur things all linked up and study pharmacology rather than showing what books to read.please dnt take this negatively but i guess everyone here knows wat to read..they needed the answer to question 'how to read it?' I actually have to appear for my 2nd professional xm few days later,so im kinda stressed. So a lot of students who r stressed they would actually want to know how to be cool and get an A not only in pharma, but other subjects too.please dnt be offended but i guess med students all of them they vary from each other in brain capacity, would be very glad if something universal was said nxt time.thank u.

+Daisy Roy no offense but if you don't like/find the vids useful, don't watch them...people try to make good videos to help people, most enjoy them, I love them...others sion their butts and complain, go do some work and stop bothering everyone!!!!!
