It's happened to us. No biggy. RCL refunded us the port fees, so that was nice. Honestly, I love the ships more than the ports usually anyway.

Thanks for the video. This month will be our first time cruising in Sept when the major hurricanes seem to hit. We are praying that no storms will affect our cruise

I was on a Virgin Voyages cruise last November when there were very high winds. We missed all the ports except their Beach Club at Bimini. They issued a partial refund to us. I just used it to book another cruise 😂

We are taking this cruise in 2025. Where did you stay in Rome? And Venice? Do you recommend?

My very first cruise was Symphony of the seas going out of Puerto Rico. We were scheduled to get to PR three days before our cruise was to leave. We watched as Hurricane Maria took out every single port we were going to visit. Then it took out Puerto Rico our embarkation port the day before we were suppose to leave. Delta canceled our flight and issued a refund, our hotel issued a refund and said they had no power. The airport was shut down with no traffic coming or leaving. Royal was like, we’re still cruising so get down here somehow. I was amazed and angry that they were so apathetic about the whole thing, expecting us to come to an island that wasn’t even open. They did not want to issue a refund for a cruise we couldn’t even take they only wanted to give everyone a future cruise credit. I mean I was going to rebook but it still felt like a slap in the face. I’ve cruised several times since then but as first time experiences go it sucked and kind of showed me how cruise lines operate. It’s kind of soured me on Royal to this day even though I know all cruise lines operate this way.

Cruise lines don’t have to compensate you in any way. If you book a cruise and something happens to bad. Read the fine print.
They change ports for whatever reason they don’t gotta refund you or give you credit for any reason.
They just do it sometimes so people don’t get mad and go with another cruise line.

Sometimes getting travel insurance can help with these kind of issues.
Most times you would never have any need of it, but when you do....
