Neal went into the horrfic flashback of his JEE prep
Lovely to see these interviews Toby!
What lovely did you found ?? I found difficult to get the answer of quantitative aptitude 😢
Toby's voice and personality is so sweet and calming that there's a false sense of security before she drops the exam on them.
She would be an amazing FBI agent.
Her personality is perfect for disarming people.
Besides seeing them sweat a little it was interesting to hear the diverse experiences they had learning in different parts of the world, thanks for this
You could see their initial anxiety as they thought they would be asked to answer the questions and their relief once they realized your questions were more general in nature.
the difference in difficulty level of the JEE questions vs the SAT questions is just laughable
I thought the exact same lol
How is that she can talk while smiling, that's true talent
Smiling while talking is a pretty normal and average human behaviour lol
@@mysteriousm1 But she is a relative youngster speaking with some leading/prominent personalities. Under those circumstances, speaking while talking in a relaxed manner while retaining the leading role in the conversation, is anything but "normal and average".
@@mysteriousm1I mean she s a average looking lady so it fits
Toby is so wonderfully pure and lovely ❤. I can't imagine anyone not wanting to be her friend.
neal mohan had some concerning flashbacks lmao
As an American, my takeaway is that I think few Americans have ever heard of these tests and would be stunned to know that in most countries one has to pass multiple comprehensive tests in order to graduate high school. Also that subjects like micro/macro economics and advanced physics are routinely taught in high school in other countries. Most Americans aren’t even aware of the level of testing required to obtain a graduate degree (unless you are enrolled in an online six week MBA or some other create-your-own masters degree farce). And finally that academics and teachers are highly valued by other societies. Teachers in other societies have real status and are paid well enough so that high achievers want to enter the field. I have worked with plenty of American ex-pats who are shocked at the level of academic rigor and the demands of testing that their children are exposed to when they live outside of the U.S. If we don’t start valuing academics and teaching, we will continue our downward spiral in international competitiveness and we will find it increasingly difficult to hold on to our democracy.
Yeah, I always thought that public high schools in the US have decreased the academic rigor in the last decades compared to other countries. Which is quite ironic, since the best private universities in the world are in the US. I feel that the curriculum is quite outdated and does not prepare you for the modern world.
@@martiddyI think you are right in terms of the base American High School experience, but there are programs like IB and AP for students who look to be challenged more
US schools give away good grades out of fear of being sued by parents. Their main priority now is to TRY to avoid controversy and trauma. Kids figure out they don't have to study hard.
At least the advanced programs still output future STEM leaders, for now.
@@DOFT.mp4 But not all American high schools offer those programs. In particular rural and inner-city schools often lack the funding and personnel to teach AP courses. Part of the problem is that we (in the U.S.) rely on both state and local funding for public education, and in many states a) the state funding has either been cut back or at least hasn’t kept up with increased costs and b) school districts with low tax revenues (meaning low populations or low district incomes) suffer from that lack of local funding. The obvious answer would be to federalize education, with all schools funded by the federal government but you then end up with the “states’ righters” and other conservative groups screaming about “government indoctrination” in education. They much prefer control by the states and even local school boards so that the “indoctrination” (which has no place in elementary and secondary schools to begin with) is more in line with their ideologies. Many will disagree with me, but it is a fact that in the funding and curriculum control battles waged in American public schools, education suffers and quality teachers don’t want to put up with the stress and hassle for the subpar wages we pay.
The conservatives that I know in the U.S who don’t have a college degree are convinced that colleges are liberal indoctrination factories and think that too much is spent on education in general. The conservatives with college degrees assure me that the education of their children is very important. Many conservatives think that the Dept. of Education should be eliminated. I have no idea how they think we are going to maintain our “American exceptionalism”.
Toby is such an adorable person. She puts calm and serenity around her. ❤❤❤
Neal Mohan definitely needs a vacation - because of stress, he makes very questionable decisions about TH-cam
Those questionable decisions didn't start with him and they won't end with him. 😔
Blame Sergey Brin and Larry Paige.
Pretty sure he wasnt the first guy to make questionable decisions and there were a ton of other people, he is just the most visible so he is the easiest to blame
JEE Adv-
"O My God"
🤣
Great questions to very interesting people! It is neat to hear about the impact education has had on their careers. I feel that we get a bit tunnel visioned when going through school such that it becomes hard to see how education can be applied to drive towards a successful career.
Thank you for the creation of this fascinating experience that delves into the exploration of the considerations dealing with students' education examinations, the education system itself and the perspectives of the selected interviewees on these topics. Thoughts on the subject matter of this video were interesting and worthy of being pondered indefinitely. Thank you, infinitely, once again.
It's great seeing you again Toby. Hopefully we'll be graced by more videos from you. You love to keep our minds on their toes.
It is so interesting to watch your interviews. This could be part of a “how to interview and keep it interesting”. You’re amazing. ❤🌱🌻
lmfao, I loved that little bit at the end where Toby offers her hair to Sara
Yes, but to her knee? I find that silly
What an interesting video. I loved the conversation around how different education is in various countries.
the best feeling was always after finishing the exam
Are they even on the same level though? Aren't SAT and JEE (or JEE-advanced in recent days) like worlds apart in difficulty?
They are. JEE tests ur PCMskills . Sat on the other hand, how good ur overall reasoning is
So glad to see you getting the recognition you deserve! ❤
I absolutely love your content! I always wondered if they kept their knowledge or they just got to the position and discarded it
SAT is just too easy compare to JEE
SAT se mushkil questions to mene boards me dekhe hein
Math: The only place where someone can buy 80 watermelons and not think they're being weird.
How many melons does peter have?
This was pretty cool! What a fun opportunity. :)
The exams are so wonderful! The people's reactions were quite surprising, to be honest! I was expecting more shock 🤣
This is so cool. Congratulations Tibees!! You're one of the best content creators on youtube worldwide. Amazing job ❤
Awesome video. Loved to hear the thoughts on education from these very accomplished people!
Fantastic video, different from the normal style but really strong questions I hope it does well
The reactions are definitely telling of the various experiences these folks had in their respective educations.
Very well done! First, I didn't realize that you were such a celebrity as to get an invitation from TH-cam and to interview some high-powered subjects. Their perspectives and personalities were fascinating to experience in what had to be an unusual environment for them, fielding questions out of their normal areas of expertise.
That was fun to watch, and I'd bet it was fun to do! And what a refreshingly different topic! - And, my answer: I occasionally still will have an exam nightmare! And I'm 75.
I used to find maths exams enjoyable.
My lack of enjoyment or stress came from needing to understand the process the question was asking.
For example, UK A Level Mathematics suddenly jumps into the realm of "just trust the teacher" instead of "this is why this is happening". Or statistics where you followed the taught process but got the wrong answer, and the teacher never explained why it was wrong.
With only my experience with mathematics, it's not the exams that are an issue (if the students have suitable accommodations for the exam experience). It's how the subject is taught. Maths shouldn't be about memorising information (like other subjects could be), it's about understanding mechanics and systems, and that's stuff that, if learned, is very hard to forget.
In my own experience, the only maths stuff I have forgotten is specific Forumulai. Or processes that were never explained, but we were made to just memorise the steps.
Wordy exams were horrible and exhausting.
Thank you for asking them, and also for your sweetness in addressing them, They revealed more by what they didn’t say, and how they answered diverging from the question you asked. All in all as a Mother I deeply appreciate your love for teaching and exploring the complexity of the Matters you concern yourself with
...so anyone else keep pausing to work out the problems on the exams?
Omg the hair moment at the end 😂
I put it as a an Instagram post where I’m also pingnick ha excellent indeed!💯
that indian exam looks freaking terrifying!
Caus it is unless u give it time!
@@LEONLOVESMUSIC It is even if you give it time.
Here it's known for its ptsd to students
Good on ya Tibs !😁
Being Indian, most of our students are stressed about exams since their parents want them to become a HIGH EARNING employee.
As a person of experience in IT, I can say with confidence that Indian parents just want our achievements to brag to others in their social group. They actually do not value our opinions, beliefs, advice, or intelligence. The usual retort to us if we try to correct them is : "Don't lecture me, I made you and educated you. Be grateful and obey what I say. I don't care how much you earn, I am your parent, I know better."
They will never consider that a Masters degree or PhD holder might know better than them.
The hypocrisy and arrogance is very blatant.
Which is it? a big CEO or a person with a stressful job.
Oh no, the stress of whether to swim in a pool of 1 or 5 dollar bills while firing half their workforce. (Who, of course, deserve it because if they wanted to keep a job, they should have been a CEO) sooooooo stressful. *droll*
Very intersting! Thanks for this set of interviews.
I love to hear how education differs around the world. It’s a fascinating topic. I wish we studied these differences as part of our undergraduate education degrees.
This is one of the most reassuring videos I've seen of late. If these big powerful people tremble at the sight of those exams, I'm not as pathetic as the exams made me feel. 🥲 Tibees, you're an angel. Thank you.
A harsh and competitive education system may foster learning in those who can cope up. But we need to be careful here before we glorify it - there will be a sizable population of children who forever will be scarred and unjustly denied the pleasure of learning.
sat seems a piece of cake as comapared to iit jee
Tibees back with a banger ❤
Neil's Trauma INTENSIFIES!
Man if only you could make a test as intimidating as it was when your career was on the line. Such a big scary monster, you could measure the response in Fight, Flight, or Freeze.
Kevin's way of speaking is absolutely phenomenal
Wow, you’re a great interviewer! Did you have any stress or anxiety as you prepared for these interviews?
Neal having vietnam war ptsd flashbacks
OMG when he said resnick and haliday I felt a sense of dread lmao
Loved this on Nebula. Thanks, Toby. ❤
I'm surely it's very stressful for them trying to figure out how best to destroy the world in the name of profit xD
I often wonder if we all acquired the same values and understanding of all things would we accomplish greater knowledge.
Jee exam is very tough exam in India
Ohhhh the anxiety this video envokes!
Toby ,this is a good video, interesting to see their reactions .
This should have more views ❤
merry christmas tibees!
Can't help but see how many of our leaders seem to support the status quo more than your average citizen. I feel like most people are more critical of educational practices.
Way to go, Tibees. Now we're going to have to censor anything stress-inducing or risk demonetization.
Looks at the JEE paper.
Vietnam flash backs
I'm doing my HSC now and just seeing the cover of it is giving me anxiety
Glad I've finished my school & University exams years ago 😋
JEE exam is less for finding talent and more for screening.
The one thing that got me through college was this simple revalation: Grades DO NOT MATTER. D's get Degrees, as they say. Once you're out of college, nobody ever talks about it again. Even during a job interview if you bring up how you got a 4.0 GPA during college, speaking from experience what that says to me is "This person has no actual experience, and is still hung up on college..."
Once you realize that a D is a passing grade, all the stress melts away and you can focus on actually learning the material, and not just rote memorization to pass a test.
Contrarily, one's first job in campus recruitments usually sets up one's career trajectory to an extent. One could correct it with effort in the following years, but the initial push from higher grades gets one into the best paying or just the best companies / jobs in the region and industry. By 30 or 35, though, all such factors level out, so then what you say is correct.
Having said all that, personally, I prefer to be someone with lower grades but real understanding of the subject, then having high grades and poor understanding. We need to have more project work in addition to objective tests in education.
I used to cry
I'm working on taking sat act,GED and to become a dvm.(doctor vetanerian medicine) we need a education re form early learning, remember the end goal please.
Guinness World Records was tweeting about the woman with the longest hair. You gotta be closer.
the Australian guy didn't even flinch 😂
hes dead inside thats how you know it
To be fair he was the Prime Minister during the financial crisis, you'd hope he could cope with High School economics xD
He's a narcissist
good to see Mr. Rudd!
I'd like to give them an exam on what is fair use, or what is a dangerous 'how to' video targeted towards children.
Toby deserves a honorary professor position.
Thank you.
Sounds like Amb. Rudd is a nerdy teacher's pet 😆
Hey! I am from Sri Lanka. I think you should look into the A/l maths stream past papers in Sri Lanka.
I can guarantee by any means they are not easy.
I would be surprised if politicians know how to read and write.
Awesome video! Interesting group.
What happened to the CEO of TH-cam who killed the dislike button? Where is she now?
TH-cam chose very, very well.
Hey tibees. Take a look at the X/ENS entrance exams in mathématics. This is a sophomore level exam which is super hard. I think it would make in interesting video :)
Is this for entrance into an undergraduate program?
@@riddhimanna3450 its for an équivalent of a junior year
@@lorteauerwan8686 ah thanks! Will check it out!
@@riddhimanna3450 Cool ! Lmk what you think of it
If you show this economics exam to the new president of Argentina I’m so sure he would come up with the right answers
I 💙 your channel, Toby!
What a wonderful video.
Excellent broadcast 💯 dear friend. Have you ever analyzed the elements of the COVID 19 vaccines from random countries and compared them?

No exam prepares you for interviews on your exam.
I hope we can meet privately in a quaint cafe Geneva Switzerland and talk for hours and drink some kosher wine 🍷
>Politicians

So, is Jee adv difficult or jee mains??
Jee advance
I don't think Mr India was thrilled.
So they are not going to solve the tasks, only look at them and provide feelings...
