Myles Goodwyn, Co-founder, Singer, Song Writer, has lead the band since '69. This month, March '23, he officially retired from touring with April Wine. 16 studio albums with numerous Greatest Hits compilations and Live recordings, one of the best Rock Catalogs out there. PS: Sadly, Myles Goodwyn passed away Sunday 3rd December '23. Great loss for his fans. RIP
Harri, thank you for the wonderful reactions to both the Bee Gees and Canada's own... April Wine. One of my brothers hung out with the group, here in Halifax, Nova Scotia. A huge shout-out to you, I love your reaction videos.
Thanks for the April Wine reaction! One of my favorite Rock bands and one of Canada's best. They have a long list of great songs. I have several on my channel and plan on adding more. Unfortunately they are mostly known for a few radio hits here in the States.
From their 1972 album, "On Record" this was the first release and first hit. Just another great Canadian 🇨🇦 rock band from Nova Scotia, which had many hit singles, including, " I Wouldn't Want To Lose Your Love", my favourite. The guitars in this song are so pleasing, and totally should be cranked in your house, car, everywhere. Love the vocals. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Louie. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
One of the first songs I ever fell in love with ('72, I think it was, Grade 9 freshman at high school)... It opened my eyes/ears ... Still can't stop myself from time travel groovin' when I hear it a half century later! 🤗
I am now 57 years old and I have seen this band more than any other live they are great live and there's nothing like watching Jerry Mercer play for 15 minutes while the band takes a break
Great Canadian rock band. They had their biggest hits in the 70's-80's. “You Could Have Been A Lady” is one of my favorites. Other songs are “Sign Of The Gypsy Queen”, Just Between You & Me”, "Roller", "Before The Dawn" etc.
This song was originally done by Hot Chocolate. They recorded it twice, first a rock song in the early 70's, sounding similar to this version, and then again in the late 70's as a disco song. Both are great.
I loved this when it came out, an important influence in my young musical awakening. It was decades before I tripped upon the fact it's a cover. Heh. (No www yet, stuff could easily slip by during one's info journey.) Great tune! Still love it.
Haven't heard that in a long time. Great tune. April Wine was a great band. They never got the recognition they deserved Imo. We listened to them a lot back when I was in high school. Great guitar work in all of their songs.
I grew up listening to April Wine -- from Nova Scotia, Canada. We'd go to April Wine concerts at the local arenas. The last time I heard them was a few years ago, just down the street from my house at a packed outdoor concert. Myles has now retired but I think his son has taken over.
Check out the time that April Wine opened for the Rolling Stones The Stones were a surprise They we’re warming up for a tour Used a cover name and put AW on the playbill
Love April Wine 🇨🇦. Lots of hits they have. Yes they definitely leave you wanting more , but if you wanted to get airplay on radio stations you had to keep the song length around 3 minutes. This is when radio play and music television were crucial to success.
It seems as though you really dig April Wine Harri. My next recommendation from them is a more raw and up tempo song called The Band Has Just Begun. You’ll love it guaranteed!
Good Canadian band, saw them twice, first time Johnny Winter opened for them, sad thing for April Wine was after roughly 4 or 5 songs half the people left, there for Johnny Winter I guess as I was and yes I'm one of the ones that left, not a good idea for anyone to have Johnny Winter open, he has three piece band they have Six with half the sound, the exact same thing happened when I saw him open for Golden Earring.
Yes. The "breakdown" was CLAP YOUR HANDS AND SING ALONG. Another song they did was called Drop Your Guns. If you revisit April Wine, Drop Your Guns would be a good video. Myles was a friend of mine. He died Sunday. Love from Ontario Canada.

Absolute legendary Canadian BANGER. This one starts hot and does not let up. And. Oh. That. BASS. RIP Jimmy Clench!

The song was influenced by Why Don’t You Quit by Eddie Harris

"Its a shame to face the game the way you've been lied to"
Great lyrics by Hot Chocolate
- superb delivery by Myles Goodwyn and April Wine ✌
Harri, please do “I’m on Fire For You Baby” by April Wine.
Not a rocker, but a slower ballad from their catalog. It takes me back to school days. 🇨🇦
Since 1969-70 and the main guy just played his last live show with them. Great band.
I was in Truro to watch his last show.
Sooooo glad I did
One of the top bands of the 70's! Thanks 🇨🇦
Another great song by April wine is called like a lover like a song off course all their music is great
Nothing like Canadian hard rock. It has a a rawness of its own.

Damn I'm early.
I'd like to recommend watching Gary Moore and BB King "Thrill is gone".
It's extremely worth it.
Nice videos.
Myles Goodwin just had his last concert with the band a few weeks ago, in Truro N.S

EXCELLENT CHOICE !

" just between you and me."
Check out their song Weeping Widow It will blow your mind
For something a little more "bluesy" from them - Last Time I'll Ever Sing the Blues. Great song.
Harri you should check out the Powder Blues Band and their hit Hear that Guitar Ring - another great Canadian Rock/Blues Band.
Blast from my past. I heard a little Boston in the lead guitar line. I wonder if Boston were fans of April Wine.
best song to ski moguls on. perfect beat for them

Yeah eh.
Totally eh
Basically the guy is sad that he couldn't save the prostitute he fell in love with :) Peace and Love from Canada eh :) sorry :)
