      About guns being banned because he could be turned into a real Firearms I actually read up that the we m4's could be converted into real machine guns. Of course you would actually need to get a real upper and bolt carrier and there's a few more things that also needed to be changed. Also the guns were pot metal so they probably wouldn't hold up all that well. We eventually made slight adjustment so that it can't be done. While indo say that gun control is an overreach and disagree with the nfa and belive thatf needs to be disbanded, you shouldn't be able to convert airsoft to real steel. You should be be to put real steel parts on there but you shouldn't be able to make it so it can fire real bullets.

      @@USAirsoft they have their place doing certain things, I've seen and used them a fair bit for flamethrowers at period events or to make things like mounted dual/quaf 50BMG setups.
      The UK limits mean they make a LOT more sense. Having to be sub 360fps for an automatic means strafers aren't a massive issue.
      They are balanced/limited by air volume and the lack of hopup so as long as you set a sensible limit on the power they are fine.

    Happy owner of Marui AA-12 here. I'm surprised it's apparently banned someplaces. Shooting 3 bb's in full auto might seem OP but like others already said the shotgun itself is bulky, heavy and drum mag rattles a lot when moving quickly. It's like having a loud maracass telling everyone your position.
    Besides, our local play field has semi-only rule indoors so I can blast full auto only outdoors in the woods. That evens things even further.
    I love my AA-12 and shooting it is loads of fun.

      @@USAirsoft I own a DT4 but have yet to take it to my field. How would you recommend I properly chrono it? Hang one side out of the chrono and only fire one barrel into it at a time? When I was partners in a company that started importing airsoft into the US in 1986, I never imagined how far it would go. Or that I would still have a large collection and even an interest in it 35 years later. Again, good job on the vid.

      I could see it being dangerous as a riot control device with stainless steel BBs, especially at close range. But with lighter plastic projectiles.... What do you think about the claim of it being too much for riot control and other non lethal uses? Personally, I think it would be a fantastic deterrent in the hands of a responsible user and any injuries fall under the "play stupid games. Win stupid prizes" category.
      Unfortunately, I rarely ever get notifications when trying to have a discussion like this. But I would really like to hear your opinion

    • @swtim255
      @swtim255 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@erict3728 We did try and get it to be accepted into the "less lethal" paragon. A few things were against us. 1st, money, we did not have enough. Although a large sum was put into promotion and demos around the country, we needed about triple what we had to set up a training and accreditation system to get it into regular use. 2ed, right about the time it was starting to get some "legs" in the industry, FN had a issue with thier 303 LTL unit where someone was killed, and everyone kinnda pulled back on deploying new stuff then. That whole industry is very fickle, in the respect of, if someone starts a "What if" it tends to grow quickly . "What if", someone got shot in the eye and it killed them,,,,, we started hearing that a lot. Then the demo's dried up, and the money ran out.

      Flare guns are generally designed with a tapered barrel that prevents loading shotgun shells without modification. It wasn't until later on when factory made mini-shells that could be put in a stock one started becoming commonplace that things got really dangerous there.

      @@cryptidproductions3160 (before I say anything, don’t do this if it’s illegal in your country, just be careful if it is legal) so you get knife, or a file, or literally any tool, and you can easily make it shoot it, and if not, you could make black power (very easy), get some metal balls (ball bearing, sling shot, or like anything else), and some wads of cloth, put the black powder in, put a wad, put the balls in, put a wad, then you have a claymore in your hand (I have no idea if this would even work, just a quick idea, one problem I see is the primer, I’m not sure if the thing that hits the flare will set of black powder but that shouldn’t be too hard to fix with some flint, a fuse, or some actual primer explosive powder). I guess most criminals (or at least the ones who get caught since many serial killer never get caught) are stupid so they couldn’t figure out how to do this but still, it’s possible.

    Similar to your #1 pick, there was a revolver which had shells that were individually gassed and fired their bbs when the primer (yes, these had primers) was struck by a firing pin that was attached to the hammer. Obviously that's WAY too close to how a real revolver functions and since the mock shells are very similar in size to real ones, it's not a stretch to imagine that it might have been able to fire real ammunition. It would've destroyed the gun, but the mechanism would've worked.

    I own an AA12 and to be honest I play it when I want to impose a handicap on myself. It is bulky and loud, it has a mosfet that makes it hard to use powerful batteries so it's limited to NiMHs, and it is a 1J gun so you are firing less muzzle velocity than most pistols. I do see the reasons why it makes people iffy, 3 bbs at 10 rps is 30 bbs per second and that can really mess some people up if the user isn't careful.

    • @ilmt
      @ilmt 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah that mosfet... I couldn't take it any more (as it was cutting off my 7.4 lipo at seemingly random times and decent 8.4 NiMH are hard to come by) and replaced it with one with ROF regulation and after that it is 100% awesome
      PS: I did had to lower the ROF about 10% to feed from the drum more reliably on 7.4 Li-Pol - it was dryfiring a bit without regulation.

      @ilmt 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      One more note - my M60 upsets people more as it is 2 J gun, and given that its motor is right near my face I pump some poor guys with too much BBs as I don't hear them call their hits. And it is support gun - so it's meant to be fired in long bursts :D

    One of the more fun, yet troublesome 'guns' we used in paintball, was a grenade launcher.
    You have to make the 'grenades' with foam drinking cups. Basically, you fill the cup with paintballs, and glue 2 cups mouth to mouth. The gun is a giant tube, and on the side, you set the amount of pressure you want, by looking at 3 lights. One lit is short distance, like 20 meters, and 3 lights is like 150 meters. You could even drop bouncing bettys in there.
    Once, we were fighting a team on a hill, with a dry creek at the bottom. I loaded the launcher, and set it to 3 lights. My primary gun (SL 68) was on the ground nearby, when I heard someone approaching from behind.
    I turned and fired the launcher at him. He was about 10 meters away, and it knocked him back like he was tackled by a football player. He ended up with 15 brusies on his chest.
    Fun day. He spent the next 5 games hunting me.

    I actually own (and love) the AA12. For games I'm going to, it is hardly OP, it is almost UP - firstly I'm going mostly to outdoor games, and secondly, the limits here are not as strict - first, the usual power limit is 130 m/s (430 fps) for full auto rifles, machineguns (has to be really machinegun replica - M60, M249, PKM ...) typically can go up to 140 or 150 m/s (460 - 490 fps) with full auto (generally it is banned to shoot under 10 or 20 m ranges, you have to use less powered sidearm for the shortest ranges).
    The AA12 has 80 m/s (260 fps) and approaches machineguns by its weight so no one ever complained about it, the highest upgrade I saw (apart from HPA conversion) is to go for about 100 m/s (330 fps) which wouldn't scare anyone (as 120 m/s - 390 fps is considered a baseline now - most guns sell with that power).
    When there is a limitation on rifles to use midcap mags, or there is a general restriction on electric drums for rifles I have to appeal to the organizers that they allow AA-12 as machinegun (to use electric winding mag) to stay competitive as the volume of fire is the only thing which goes for it and those midcaps are gone SO quickly (and I don't want to invest to have a dozen...).
    But Iooooove to shoot with it, I ordered one as soon as it was available, mine could have been the first in the country for all I know, as it was not in our shops yet, when I ordered it and for reasons above, there wasn't (and is not) too big of a demand for them.
    But I said it when I was starting with airsoft 15 years ago and come to know that there are AEGs and the tri-shot shotguns: "Once there will be an electric tri-shot shotgun I'm getting it immediately." I did hope for USAS-12 as that is my favorite crazy auto shotgun, but still. I love my TM AA-12.

    • @ilmt
      @ilmt ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@baka030hydroid Most people hardly know that the 3-shot AA12 even exists, but some fields are actually banning the HPAs due to their ability to have crazy high ROF, and super high muzzle velocity at the same time. There were supposed cases of cheaters cranking up the fps of their HPA after they passed the fps test (which is a matter of regulator setting for HPAs). Yeah, even 500 fps isn't enough for some mad men here...
      I personally don't care what type of gun are you using, 400 fps at almost any range, if you're not psycho aiming for the head. And up to 500 outside buildings. I don't see the point of going all the way to 500 though, as at that fps you have to use heavy ammo, and most people use 0.28 or 0.3 at most in these, even when you really should have like 0.4 to really take advantage of the high fps (from what I saw over and over if you don't increase the weight of the BB alongside your muzzle velocity the range gain is often almost negligible and you only increase the danger of hurting someone badly.
      To me (if I wanted a normal assault rifle :D), the sweet spot would be around 460 fps with 0.32 BBs as those are still sold as regular BBs (so you pay per kg) anything upwards from that is considered "precision, sniper" ammo and you pay basically per BB and those cost like 3 times as much.
      I think part of the problem with HPA is that you just buy the gun and it is almost instantly capable of those 500+ fps. In the past, if you wanted that you needed to really upgrade the AEG and maintain it properly, not all psychos with money were ready to do that after they realized that their mechabox broke on every other game :D

    first off, target lasers and night vision is not allowed on a replica here by law. your not allowed to own them if they can be mounted on your replica.
    most field regulate with a ROF limit and they will check for it during the field.
    things like filly automatic shotguns are allowed here (yes i saw a AA12 here. it broke after half the day )
    also most fields ban any multi-finger triggers. (speedsofters beware )
    things like the mortar or rpg that actually shoots a non-bb projectile wile sometimes allowed when asked is most of the time just banned.
    Pyro's are also regulated per field.
    beyond that we got most of the normal safety and regulations.

    For the record, speedsofters are unpopular not because of what they choose to wear or even what they choose to carry (like the G&G SG1) but because of how they choose to play and the impact that that has on everyone else - Specifically, insane ROF and massive overkill. Sorry, but it's not "hypocritical" at all - it's field owners and other players self-policing their community, and it's a great thing to see. It's not about "defending people who haven't done anything wrong" - it's about understanding that the only real reason someone would be running this setup is to get as close as possible to "doing something wrong" without getting called on it - in other words, their intention is not to have fun and play with a good-faith sporting mentality, but rather to fuck with people without getting called out. IMO, if you are doing this, then you've ALREADY "done something wrong" since you are not even trying to approach the game in good faith.
    If you have a hair trigger (or even less skillfully, a dual trigger) or a setup like the SG-1 blade trigger, you're almost certainly spending your time blitzing it to effectively cheat the no-full-auto rules so you can dump as many rounds as possible into other players. If this is you, (and if you are a dedicated speedsoft player then it's probably you), then you can stop whining about your favourite guns getting banned and whining even more about how you are treated by other players on the field because you are a toxic piece of shit and no one has any sympathy for you. If field owners ban dedicated speedsoft-style guns on sight, then that is the fault of the companies and the shitters who use their weapons specifically to carefully flout no-full-auto rules and mag-dump on people at close range purely for their own satisfaction. If you are someone who is actively trying to get as close to that line as possible, if you buy guns specifically to achieve this, then you can cry all you want and call everybody a hypocrite and swear up and down that you haven't done anything wrong, but in the real world no one is going to tolerate your bad-faith nonsense for long, and that is the way it should be.
    Respect to all field owners who ban guns proactively - there are hundreds of great models out there, amazing replicas and beautifully engineered guns for everyone of any size or experience level - crying about banned guns just kind of outs you as a toxic shitter who just wants to be out on the field to overshoot and mag-dump ppl, and so again, you'll get no sympathy from the majority of the community because you don't deserve any.

      I feel this all these people thinking they are real military don't like it when I put 3 round in their back from 5 feet away so they cry about it like come on if it was real life you would be dead so just suck it up and get out, back to the guns, no gun should be banned for anything more than an FPS requirement.

      @@muffinman3111 Ngl I have about that much into it but I don't cry about dumb stuff like full auto, engagement range, and looks. I want airsoft to be more the way it is in real life where you get shot you're down and that's it, it shouldn't matter what gun or where they hit you. And sometime over shooting happens just like in real life, people just need to grow up and use there brain, don't mag dump but don't cry for being shot 3 times

    Owner of an AA12 and yep this thing is kinda banned in a lot of sites here in Japan(most of sites doesn't even allow full auto bar some exceptions), but the suppressive fire of this AA12 is sweet, the only problem is this gun is NOISY asf sometimes i can't hear people calling hits when they don't shout it

    I don't actively play Airsoft, I can't due to disability. But the only 2 times I've been to a field, the local rules there basically said that if your replica shoots more than 1 BB at a time, the muzzle energy has to be divided up amongst them. So no one there uses shot guns of any sort, unless they've been modified to just shoot a single pellet.
    The shell firing type of replica is straight up illegal in my country, as those are potentially compatible with a cartridges for actual weapons. So they are considered fire arms. You could technically own one, but the process to get vetted, verified and licensed takes about 4-5 years. So good luck with that.
    Also the Strafer 6mm airsoft BB and the 4.5mm air rifle pellet models are not compatible, their internals share very little in the way of parts. Also the pellet model has a much, much reduced firing rate. And in many countries, the pellet firing model is straight up illegal, either because it's full auto, or because of the muzzle energy. In which case I wouldn't want to be the one explaining to a cop what the differences are between a potentially legal air soft replica and an illegal pellet rifle, nor would I want to risk jail time over possession of illegal weapons.
    As for speed softers, I really do not see the problem with them. But if you're going to a hardcore milsim field, don't be surprised if they expect your replica to be milspec as well. Meaning no spade triggers and the likes. Personally I don't like paintball triggers like that, but then I'm used to proper two stage triggers on air rifles that put out a whole lot more energy than what is even remotely legal in airsoft to begin with. But to me they feel like unsafe hair triggers. I'm a range marshal at the range where I shoot air rifles. If someone presented me a rifle with a trigger like that, I would not let them onto the range until they fixed it and installed a safe trigger.

    2:52 Funny thing about the AA-12 picture is it's the model from a Roblox FPS game called Phantom Forces. Anyway, I like your content, keep it up!
    Also, I think my friend has an AA-12, it's pretty cool. He's used it a bunch of times, and he says he's dropped it on purpose COUNTLESS t times, I don't know why he would do that with such expensive equipment tho.
