This is the chicken skin music I felt for when i fist hear Barry Manilow in 1975. He still is the greatest entertainer, musician, songwriter, singer in the music bizz. Love and respect to this man.
More than forty years ago at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles I was part of the choir that did this with Barry. OMG, I can't believe it was that long ago.
In 1987 in Austria, Barry sang this song with the Soviet singer Alla Pugacheva... The singer is 75 years old today and she remembers with great joy singing with Barry. Thank you for a wonderful song that is still relevant today.
I can't imagine how good it makes Barry feel when he hears all these different people singing his song, esp. like this. This was just incredible. Thanks for posting, Michael! Seen the man 4 times, starting at MSG in '80. LOVE Manilow!
just like the clamor for freedom... if only just one would start singing in the midst of all the darkness, and chaos, and hopelessness, and tyranny, and injustice, just a single voice, joined in by another one, then another, and another... until everyone catches on and lets out his voice, the voices would become one big explosion and the message will then ring loud and clear and will echo to the 4 corners of the earth ... perhaps, it can summon the winds of change... and the world will be free once again.

I saw Barry Manilow sing this live with the Centenary College choir in Shreveport, Louisiana sometime around 1980...40+ years ago...and I've NEVER forgotten the goosebumps I felt then. Just experienced it again!!! Not as good as the "live" performance...but WOWZERS...still fantastic!!!
