For anyone that was curious, the most used gem size was SS10 which I believe is 2.8 millimeters.

So what part did you use the ss10….and what other size did you use and on what part of the shoe

@@stevenmeansphotography3861 the SS8 and probably the SS6. I used the different sizes on each panel that I did. If you notice the taper of the swoosh, you will come to various parts where you will run out of space if you use the same sized gems. That's where you will need to switch up and pick and choose which gem to place based on the size. It's not an exact science due to every shoe being different. Notice I didn't say every shoe size. Trust me, each shoe is different.

I thought you use acetone when painting

Acetone use is primarily there to get you back to the base surface. So, whether you're painting or not, if you plan on altering a shoe or panel in anyway, it definitely helps to get rid of the factory finish before you begin any type of changes.

may i ask is deglazer same as acetone also? i plan to start customizing af1 also

sorry for taking so long. deglazer typically has acetone in it. It more than likely has additional components in it meant to cut it down so that it's not as harsh on whatever surface it's meant for. you'll probably just end up using more deglazer overtime to breakdown the factory finish.
