My arrangement and cover of Enjoy the Silence by Depeche Mode. An unusual song for acoustic guitar but I arranged it as close to the original as possible in fingerstyle.
I’ve been playing guitar for quite a while but I’m just starting my journey into finding my voice and blending with playing. This was amazing and really inspirational. Thank you for this
Have patience brother. It takes a while. Some may come quicker than others. Unless you're my best friend... He just doesn't have it. Lol He trys though. Funny thing is most people don't care. They're just excited to hear music.
@@murdock8068 I appreciate it. Messing with songs in different keys is really helping at the moment. It’s crazy how playing something just a half step down or up can help. But yeah, I’m not trying to impress anyone, just love playing music
Everyone has a singing voice or middle voice Joe! Just remember that - a choir of everyday normal people singing in unison is a perfect example - on their own they may not be be superstar 8 octave range singers but they have the skill to sing well in their range - every human being has a preset vocal range typically of 3 to 3 1/2 octaves - which is incredible when you think about the fact that across the different pitches - that’s about 40 separate notes a human can “sing” like a thing else it that you want to “Git Gud” at - it requires patience and practice. When I started playing guitar one of my favorite players was Robbie Krieger of the Doors - I also really liked Jim’s singing or crooning and so I tried to emulate his style of singing along with Jonny Cash, Paul Banks of Interpol - and man that just was not my RANGE! Haha I could never sing with real volume because it wasn’t my singing voice range - then I said “well I just can’t sing” and years later I really got into Radiohead, My Morning Jacket, Fleet Foxes Roy Orbison and realized I had more of a tenor range even falsetto and man wow, it totally changed my perception on singing. I found I could sing with crazyyy volume almost effortlessly in the style of those guys - and as I learned more about it I began understand how i could even just change the key of a song that really wasn’t in my range to find my sweet spot. A lot of info / but reading your comment I was inspired to give you some positive feedback - everyone may not be a “superstar” singer but make no mistake, everyone has a singing voice just like they have a speaking voice. Good luck!
Dude, I just stumbled upon your version of Down in a Hole and I thought it was great... And then, this!! This is so nicely done. It really captures the vibe of the song... Amazing! 🤘
Mr.River, more and more i like your covers, and in my opinion, they no more are a cover but a rebuild in your hands, the fingerstyle with your voice is a dream marriage, so smooth and clean, never though i would like to see depeche mode in a acoustic version, and you did it, better then the studio version
Very nice. I used to watch the video on MTV when I was staying at my Grandmas as a kid in the late 80s. This song has stood the test of time and you gave it a nice touch.
I found my way to your channel yesterday when one of your Alice in Chains covers came up in my feed, and I was blown away. Loving the mix of covers and originals! Your playing and voice would lend themselves well to covering Amigo the Devil, especially songs like Buried in Another Man's Grave or Cocaine and Abel!
@@rivercrombie It does look like the TH-cam algorithm brought your stuff to the forefront just a few weeks back. Whatever you did, worked. I just spent the afternoon listening to your music and this is the last video of all the playlists. What a cool ride. Crazy good. Not a massive Depeche Mode fan...In HS some girl wrote me a letter telling me how much she liked me, but her parents were strict (Persian) and would never let her date, etc. I used to drive her home from school and her favorite band was Depeche Mode. She loved this tune along with People are People. I hated modern rock and thought it was all trash....I perked up years later with that song Personal Jesus ~1990. Since then, I enjoy DMode songs to some extent....I still think about that young lady from 1985 and anytime I hear DMode I think of her. Sweet girl and very attractive. Not a huge fan of DMode, but this is stellar and brings back some serious emotions from my teen years.
Wow. Listed to your cover of "Down in a Hole" and "Nutshell" amazing performance. Well I am now subscribed to this channel and I found your original work on Spotify. Great stuff! I will definitely share with my circle of friends. Good job on Depeche Mode too BTW. Loved them when I was growing up in the 80s.

Oh, my little girl [Chorus] All I ever wanted All I ever needed is here in my arms Words are very unnecessary They can only do harm [Instrumental Break] [Verse 2] Vows are spoken to be broken Feelings are intense, words are trivial Pleasures remain, so does the pain Words are meaningless and forgettable [Chorus] All I ever wanted All I ever needed is here in my arms Words are very unnecessary They can only do harm [Instrumental Break] [Chorus] All I ever wanted All I ever needed is here in my arms Words are very unnecessary They can only do harm All I ever wanted All I ever needed is here in my arms Words are very unnecessary They can only do harm [Instrumental Break] [Outro] Enjoy the silence
I don't think I could say any better than it's already been . Outstanding no doubt. I was wondering what kind of amp and mic do you use if you don't mind me asking

Right?!
This the best cover I've ever seen of the song, congrats 👏

[Verse 1]
Words like violence break the silence
Come crashing in into my little world
Painful to me, pierce right through me
Can't you understand? Oh, my little girl
[Chorus]
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm
[Instrumental Break]
[Verse 2]
Vows are spoken to be broken
Feelings are intense, words are trivial
Pleasures remain, so does the pain
Words are meaningless and forgettable
[Chorus]
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm
[Instrumental Break]
[Chorus]
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm
All I ever wanted
All I ever needed is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm
[Instrumental Break]
[Outro]
Enjoy the silence
Love it.
