If you want the cape, you could add a light vest to it, adding pocket space there. Perhaps something, in design, similar to a fishing vest but a bit longer Going with something more slightly past fingertip length adds an option for hand pockets if you have to deal with inconsistent weather or wind
It looks good, and seems to fit the character quit well. The black undershirt looks natural to me and goes well with the costume. Sorry the weather was so bad for your event. Hope you had a good time any way.
Thank you! Yes, it was a lot of fun! Already have plenty of shenanigans planned for the next one. It is an indoor sleeping larp with plenty of indoor space to sit in as well, so bad weather doesn't ruin a weekend. And yes, plain coloured underclothing isn't too obtrusive but still keeps you nice and warm.
This is all great info and great job on the leather cuirass! I larp in Alberta so I deal with this a lot as well as it can be like 30 Celsius in July-August but then like 0 in September-October so big change in a little time.
Surprise extra uploads, always a good thing. It's fun watching this costume evolve, especially when the discussions surrounding it lead to lore expansions and logical conclusions about how our characters work. It is, of course even more fun to get the in-the-moment updates on what doesn't work. Especially when it happens at inopportune moments. ;-)
Heh, with how wet it was that cape turned out way too soggy 😅 And yes, in the same way that costumes never change, playing a larp adds to the stories, both background and active stories, which somehow do find their way back into the costume itself again as well.
Hi Maris. The armor realy is a nice piece of work, I like it. How did you do the braided ornaments? I can't figure it out. Is it carved into the leather, or burned? Or is it real braidwork? Thumbs up and greetings from Germany 😘
Thanks! The braidwork is a rollerwheel, the next video I will release, will be about how I built this armour, where I will show how I did the carvings and the dyeing of them.
B grade leather is an A+ for this. Bravo! Well done!
Yes, so true! Sometimes 'lesser' quality materials are exactly what you need!
